Last working day of half-term. I'm so relieved that it's (nearly) over. It's all the ad hoc childcare ...

I am toasting my success in building a piece of Ikea furniture. A friend popped round while I was building it and said "Isn't that a blue job?".

I gave him this look

And said "It's a pink job in this house".

I luffs him really, but he is a grandmaster of benevolent sexism (and I let him away with it because he's like my surrogate dad here as my actual dad is in another country. I'm such a man hater).

I built some bunkbeds earlier this year. Great sense of satisfaction.

I need to find bunkbeds.

And kill the plumber.

Oh dear sounds awful I need another nc

I didn't assemble the last lot of ikea we had, being in possession of a teenage DD.

Xeno We have just been to a Dreams shop to look at mid sleepers and high sleepers.

For some reason it was really entertaining. I don't really know what the DC were on ...

Never are there any nice high sleepers? Dd2 wants one. Dh has said he's not building it after the debacle of trying to build the one dd1 had at that age, but I'm happy to build it so she's getting one if we can find one she likes.

DS1 smacks his head getting into the bottom bunk most nights, poor love.

There were some nice mid and high sleepers at Dreams. Our problem is that with a high sleeper you can't actually sit up in bed without knocking your head on the ceiling... If you have high ceiling it could be just the thing. The Stompa ones look very good but we only saw the midsleeper Stompa at another shop the other day..

The high sleeper that dd1 had wasn't any higher than a top bunk. Dd2's room is so tiny that she is happy to trade being able to sit up in bed for being able to have space to play underneath it, which she wouldn't get with a mid sleeper. We'll look at the stompa ones to see what it looks like.

Oh I am so angry with men right now!

We have been looking at schools for dd (she will start in Sept 2017). We really like a particular school but have just found out the headmistress has resigned because some fucking low life arsehole sent a topless pic of her to the governors! As far as I know she wasn't forced to resign, it seems she just couldn't face the shame of her colleagues seeing those pictures. I want to kill the bloke and I want to find her and just give her a massive hug and tell her she is worth a million times more than that scumbag.

To make it worse, the bloke who did is actually someone I briefly dated before I met dh. (He doesn't have any pics of me though, it didn't get that far.) I feel quite shaken and very, very angry.

P.S. Someone please poor me a large vodka.

Paddy, thats so vile. Ruining someone's career and probably harming a whole school (even if they get another decent head there's only so many of those to go round and it'll upset everyone). I do hope this woman is able to get another job elsewhere without this pathetic individual hounding her.

Me too Errol. Apparently, he has a restraining order preventing him from going near her or the school. The CPS made a cock up when submitting the evidence against him. If he breaks the restraining order he could go to prison for 5 years. Other than that he can carry on as usual.

Meanwhile, his victim's life is in tatters.

In tangential news, the man who hacked the nude pictures of Jennifer Lawrence in the cloud has been sentenced to 18 months in jail, which is pleasing.
