I wonder whether the original Brian Cox minded when a younger, prettier one appeared? I do sometimes get a bit of a disconnect when I hear that name and imagine the wrong one.

I've just watched the bake off final with DC - first time ever for us! Just so we can say we have and actually know what people are talking about. Personally I cannot be done with this type of thing - cake is not an essential food. You eat it because it is nice. So don't stress out about it! Bake/buy it, eat it! Nothing to it.

lifeissweet I think benevolent sexism is quite hard to call out, isn't it? People are being nice to you. It makes me quite angry. And sometimes you look at the person being nice to you and think WTF makes you think I fucking need your help, and that's not an edifying emotion. Which makes you even more cross. And so on.

I shall look forward to New Years now.

Irl I used to have a bit of a penchant for gingers my DH is more of a classic tall dark and handsome though.

There is the terribly lovely physicist Brian Cox and the Scottish actor who played General(?) Stryker in X-Men.

I love icelandic women. I also love their volcanos and geysers. Might emigrate. Not sure about the winter darkness though

It's problematic if you can't find any, because the next set you buy will doubtless be sheathed for safety in plastic which you can only break into at further risk to your fingers.

Yes. Scissors. I bought DC 2 pairs of scissors and said HERE IS WHERE SCISSORS LIVE. And I hide my scissors (2 pairs) somewhere else. Now we are down to 2 pairs of scissors - guess whose they are?

I feel like I'm winning on the scissors front :) I can lay my hands on at least 4 pairs within a minute because I bought a pack of 5 last week due to not being able to find any

I'll have a pint of black sheep, and luxuriate in being able to enjoy the pub once more. (I was happily hiding threads with the trolls on, but really, really didn't want to have to hide the pub.)
