Oh so it's a gossip of mermaids. But on mako mermaids (a crap kids TV show on Netflix) they think it's a pod of mermaids. So who do I believe?

I found a reference to a 'mission' of mermaids, but the 'gossip' seems to be the standard. MsMermaid - I guess at the moment that name might have people wondering, though I'd guess the incoming wave aren't overt?

Perhaps don't change to MxMermaid?

I'd definitely be a dragon. Not just any dragon. One of the Earthsea dragons.

There's always room for more dragons on MN. Collectively a flight, a wing or a weyr ( although in the case of swamp dragons, its a slump or an embarrassment.)
