Following on from this one General Trans thread
Because I'm not Elsa and can't let it go Wink

Even a quick read of this thread suggest there is a lot of anger. ..
Some examples...

You don't need examples. I told you that we are angry

This "debate" between radical feminism and the trans community is being seen by mainstream as a particularly nasty fight with some issues, risks and fears (on both sides) being deliberately exaggerated.

And who do you think started the fight? I think you'll find some rad fem fears stem from being threatened with death and rape when they bring up objections to some of these 'issues' you glibly dismiss. Do you not think that's an understandable reaction? By the way, have you popped over to Twitter or Tumblr yet to plead with 'TERF' killers to be less aggressive?

As mentioned earlier, I may be completely wrong. Perhaps the best solution is to get even angrier, even more offensive and aggressive...

You know what, as I said we are angry and we are 'aggressive', if you term defending women's rights vocally and loudly and consistently aggressive Hmm

We don't know if there is going to be a petition yet. If I was a transactivist I wouldn't touch this one with a ten foot bargepole.

BombadierFritz · 08/01/2016 20:56

I think this could be just the type of case cerian jenkins (started the petition for tara) is looking for. . .. .
www.independent.co.uk/voices/why-i-started-the-petition-to-save-a-trans-woman-from-an-all-male-prison-a6713881.html

"There also tends to be a trend towards granting privilege only to members of the community who fit with the status quo, which favours people who are white, middle-class, English-speaking and able-bodied. We need to work harder so that the door is opened to more than just the handful of "acceptable" trans people. "

Who could be less acceptable than a paedophile rapist?

HermioneWeasley · 08/01/2016 21:03

He should definitely take up this cause - how can we encourage that?

Agrees many would be appalled and really want it to get publicity

noeffingidea · 08/01/2016 21:04

bombadier it would be interesting. It would probably be the biggest own goal ever though. Grin
Could even be bigger than Stephonknee.

femfortheday · 08/01/2016 21:29

On twitter people are already defending Davina and insisting she should be placed in a female prison. le sigh.

JessicasRabbit · 08/01/2016 21:48

Seriously, people on Twitter claiming that a rapist with a penis should be in a female prison?! Bloody hell, I've heard it all now.

HairyLittleCarrot · 08/01/2016 21:54

No, it's good, femfortheday, I think.
People can only defend a position up to the point where it is so indefensible that it crumbles completely.
This takes things much closer to the truth of what people are trying to defend. I think many people will analyse what they are defending more closely.

noeffingidea · 08/01/2016 22:05

Anyone that campaigns for a rapist to be placed in a womans prison is a complete and utter arsehole as far as I'm concerned. I expect there are already SJW's and tumblr twats pressing their retweet and like buttons.

whatdoIget · 08/01/2016 22:15

The article seems to be saying that a rapist should be put in a women's prison to protect him from rape?!

HairyLittleCarrot · 08/01/2016 22:16

I found that article too!
I'm glad that this is getting publicity though. People are definitely hitting peak trans when the reality of the situation is unavoidable. Have you seen the responses to the chat thread?
The tide is turning, I think.

Yes. Transwomen (even the ones with penises they use to rape other women ) are the most vulnerable, and deserve the most protection. At the expense of all those.other criminal ciswomen who, really, don't deserve protection because they're in prison so are obviously bad and don't matter. Or that's how it's being presented. Because transladyfeelz are sacrosanct. Even when they are rapists.

EmpressOfTheVulvaCupcakes · 08/01/2016 23:02

Someone on the gender critical FB group just asked an interesting question:

"Here's a hypothetical I would like to hear people's thoughts on, regarding the bathroom (locker room, changing room, college, whatever) issue:
Imagine that a school, responding to the request of MTT students, decides its locker rooms will now be segregated by gender identity rather than sex. The MTT now changes in the girls room. But, the moment this change is declared, all the other girls at the school begin identifying as a third gender (I'll call 3G) and not as girls.
Under the school's identity rules, wouldn't 3G students be equally entitled to a room that conforms with their gender identity rather than being forced to use one that does not? Wouldn't the sheer number of 3G students force the school to accommodate them by building a third locker room? And most interestingly, if that were to happen, would the MTT students respect that 3G students should have privacy from girls, such as themselves, or would they want access to the 3G room too?"

venusinscorpio · 08/01/2016 23:05

It's a genius idea. I would absolutely love for it to be tried. It would never be allowed of course, as it's women/girls, not anyone important. But I'd love to see the squirming and hypocritical and illogical rationale.

noeffingidea · 08/01/2016 23:07

I've just read the case of the rapist David being debated on another forum. The consencus is universal - David is in the right place.

venusinscorpio · 08/01/2016 23:10

Undoubtedly. But I think it will be very clear to most normal people that this borders on the absurd and dangerous, and educate them as to the reality of putting biological (rapist) men who chose to transition after committing a crime into a female prison. I think that will backfire, in the long term. I hope it gets loads of publicity.

noeffingidea · 08/01/2016 23:14

empress yes, I believe they would want access,or at least some of them.
Some men just can't bear the thoughts of women having anything to ourselves. Hence the annual whinging over the race for life, the continual whinging about women only swim sessions, women only gyms, the taking over of women's groups, etc etc.
I will be fair , I have heard that some transwomen are quite shy and don't like to push themselves forward. They just want to blend in, so I expect they would be ok with it. They'd probably be ok with changing in the disabled toilet or their own seperate little room.

venusinscorpio · 08/01/2016 23:16

Oh I do hope the Guardian has a CIF on it.

JessicasRabbit · 08/01/2016 23:23

empress, that's how far down the rabbit hole you end up if you accept the current transgender narrative.

There's a few conflicting things that have come in to my brain since engaging with the trans debate:

a) gender is a spectrum
b) there is such as thing as being the 'opposite' gender to your physical body

how can something on a spectrum have an opposite?

Also,

a) gender is real
b) gender is not based on biology
c) gender is not based on socialisation

if it isn't based on science or socialisation what the heck is it based on?

Finally,

there's no difference between being a woman born with a vagina or a woman born with a penis

except the fact that they're born with different sex organs

It was the last one which made me hit trans peak.

EmpressOfTheVulvaCupcakes · 08/01/2016 23:37

I've just been on Twitter and seen the cries for Ayrton to be moved. Fucking hell.

noeffingidea · 08/01/2016 23:40

empress he won't be moved. Let the twitter twats show themselves up, they won't get anywhere.
There's a thread just been started on reddit gendercritical if anyones interested.

EmpressOfTheVulvaCupcakes · 08/01/2016 23:42

I hope they just end up with enough rope to hand themselves, effing. The more people who reach peak trans on this the better.

venusinscorpio · 09/01/2016 00:30

We're just not clever enough to understand it Jessica. It's not really our fault, we're just crap cis people. If we were trans we'd totally get it. No contradictions or logic fail at all.
