Petition to stop trans woman being sent to make prison

I came across this on change.
Contentious issue.
My thoughts are that there needs to be a safe space for women...does that necessarily include who identifies as women?

I know there are some learned types on here, I would be very interested to hear your views.

I'm not denying the media aspect Rick but what does her being a transgender sex worker bring to conversation about how she should be imprisoned?

Also I'm not sure linking a website dedicated to effectively review sex workers isn't slut shaming and probably not the most reliable character reference.

What does her being a make-up artist (as reported) have to do with where she is imprisoned?

And the media have printed lots of sexy photos of her looking like a slightly built teenage girl, it's rather relevant if multiple people say that in reality she is statuesque and masculine, when she wants to go to a women's prison.

Her own mother has literally said '“There’s nothing male about her, nobody would know the difference." and "She looks like a woman. She’s gorgeous."

The media line is that she's a gorgeous slight female and she's using this to try to be sent to a women's-only space, evidence that this is bollocks is rather relevant.

Your alternative headline is spot on, Rick, other than that I don't think her being a sex worker is here or there. It does demonstrate, though, that things are not quite as they've been reported, and seem to have been manipulated for effect. I haven't gone to the sex work review site, because I don't think that's relevant. However, from her previous appearances in the papers (it is her, the tattoos are identical but she clearly goes by a number of aliases), there's still quite a different story here, and it's one that makes the concerns for the safety of the women in the prison very realistic. She thinks it's amusing to end up in bed with people and "surprise" them with her clearly fully-functioning penis. They've spun it as best they can that she is harmless and helpless, but the magistrate obviously didn't buy it after seeing her in the flesh.

That said, I don't think having or not having a penis is all that needs to be said about the dangers posed to women-only spaces by MTT. There's a lot more to it than that.

It does make a difference that Tara chooses to work in the sex industry - her profile fits exactly that of an autogynephile - a man who becomes the object of his sexual fantasy, an auto-erotic fetish. Porn star breasts + penis is common, and 'sex work' is chosen as a means of living out that fantasy (and not, as the trans activists would have it, something that poor trans people have to do to be able to afford surgery).

It's estimated that something like 80% of MtF trans are actually autogynephiliac males. Under current law there is no way of knowing and it would be 'transphobic hate speech' to ask.

It actually doesn't matter what the individual circumstances are, women have a right to women-only prisons and that right is being taken away with no debate. Not one media report (or politician) has even thought to mention women's rights in all this - it's almost as if the female prisoners didn't exist.

So a number of commenters on that article have stated that it's the right for Tara to be moved as no-one goes to prison to get raped. Whilst this is entirely true, I wonder whether their concerns extend to the female prison population.

People won't get behind the petition on the same way I don't think Rick, women's rights aren't popular and never have been.

I don't feel qualified enough to start the petition, or technical enough, gathering and presenting the evidence.

That said, I would be happy to join a group effort.
Anyone else interested in doing this? Who would we petition?

At 16:39 Tara's MP (who is likewise a gay man) repeats the lies reported in the press (viz. six years of surgery - three years ago Tara claimed to have had NO surgery, and since then has only had breast implants).

It was also raised at 11:29 today where an MP states that Tara is being moved to a woman's prison

I presume the MP accepted what he was told by the prisoner/prisoner's mother.

There does seem to be a legitimate purpose for this 'gender recognition certificate', as it saves taking the word of violent criminals that they are 'actually a woman, honest guv', as 100% truthful and accurate.

But prisons are not segregated on the basis of gender. They are segregated on the basis of sex. She hasn't had a sex change.
There's no good solution to this, and I agree with the comment a few pages back about women being thrown under the bus (as per).
