Be gentle as I am new to thinking about this.

I found the Natalie Bennett's comments on decriminalising prostitution pretty persuasive - what am I missing?

She basically said that sex workers would like this policy (having contributed to it) and that research from other countries indicated it was the way forward.

OP posts:
mary24go · 07/03/2015 22:29

"Lols, mary, my dp doesn't earn sex from me. We have sex when we both feel like it."

So you are saying that you always feel like sex at the exact same time?

Calling bullshit on that one Jessica and on him not earning it but then its the word earn you dislike and do not want to attribute to whatever it is that does it.

Not that its important you openly admit it because you have no one thing to counter my comment below with.

Well other to deny agency to any woman who does not feel the same way about sex that you do and if you think i will tolerate that from anybody be they a man or a woman you are deranged.

"If its mine i can sell it, rent it or give it away for what i choose when i choose"

PuffinsAreFictitious · 07/03/2015 22:31

Oh this is just embarrassing now...

grimbletart · 07/03/2015 22:31

Wow, that is some serious copy and paste Mary. So efficient one might almost think you have all this stored ready for FWR. As it's clearly no trouble to dig up all these facts, could you let us have the titles of the peer reviewed journals these facts appeared in so we can educate ourselves straight from the source, so to speak.

Good ol' Dr Winch (Jnr) eh?

"The pro-prostitution view of sex is so gross."

The anti-prostitution view of sex is so Self-deceptive.

RufusTheReindeer · 07/03/2015 22:33

mary

You seem to be getting a bit tense, you can have a wine if you really want one...

Was it jessicas "lol" that did it

PetulaGordino · 07/03/2015 22:34

Who's denying who agency now then?

grimbletart · 07/03/2015 22:35

Perhaps a little sex would help Mary? You do seem rather tense and, as you say, it is good for you..

Jessica147 · 07/03/2015 22:35

Gonna make it simple for you mary:
Both people want sex = have sex
Neither person wants sex = no sex
One person wants sex, the other doesn't = no sex.

As for selling whatever you want, I just don't agree. I don't think a person should be able to sell an organ, for instance.

PuffinsAreFictitious · 07/03/2015 22:36

So you are saying that you always feel like sex at the exact same time?

Oh dear. Oh deary, deary dear.

RufusTheReindeer · 07/03/2015 22:36

grimble

Mary might not have earnt sex today...don't be so insensitive

PuffinsAreFictitious · 07/03/2015 22:39

grimbletart · 07/03/2015 22:40

Sorry Rufus - I'm worried about her. Sisterly concern etc.

Lioninthesun · 07/03/2015 22:40

Mary it's odd to note then that single women outlive their coupled counterparts quite considerably in most countries.
I could c&p from a few tarot readers but as you said, Google is easy enough to cherry pick from Smile
*- Reduced depression:

Such was the implication of a 2002 study of 293 women. American psychologist Gordon Gallup Gordon Gallup reported that sexually active participants whose male partners did not use condoms were less subject to depression than those whose partners did. One theory of causality: Prostoglandin, a hormone found only in semen, may be absorbed in the female genital tract, thus modulating female hormones.*

Anyone else read this and think about the poor women having to have sex with someone they distrust so much that they have to use a condom every time? No wonder they are more likely to be depressed than the clearly trustful menfolk on this 'study'. That would be obvious to me!

mary24go · 07/03/2015 22:40

"On the occasions when just one person is in the mood, sex shouldn't happen. Obviously."

And the male sex drive being what it is within a society that has no prostitution/options that would put a lot of power in our hands, power we have always had to a certain extent but with changes in the courts and other changes over the last few decades.

Jessica147 · 07/03/2015 22:40

rufus, can I have some wine please? I've tried to send dp out for some, but he thinks he's already done enough to earn sex tonight and is refusing to go!

PetulaGordino · 07/03/2015 22:41

Really none of this derailment is relevant to the Green Party stance on prostitution anyway. Because their rationale is about making sure women who are working in prostitution are as safe as possible. I don't happen to be convinced that the NZ model will do that, but all this crap about women being all jolly and having a good sense of smell has nothing to do with the Green Party stance, or anyone who objects to it. It's just a big old derailment by someone with an agenda. The Green Party sees decriminalisation as the safest option for prostitutes and the OP has asked if that could be discussed.

PuffinsAreFictitious · 07/03/2015 22:42

Jessica, offer him a gentle blow job? You don't want to damage his penis now, and a REAL LIFE DOCTOR has said it will.

Did you know Mary that nuns and monks have higher life expectancy that other mortals? Doesn't really fit with your have sex and live long and healthy model does it? Unless of course these nuns and monks are really very naughty and are at it like rabbits.

mary24go · 07/03/2015 22:44

"As for selling whatever you want, I just don't agree. I don't think a person should be able to sell an organ, for instance."

Then should anybody try to force you to do so i will be happy to stand beside you against them.

But not you or any man either tell me what i can or cannot do with my body.

RufusTheReindeer · 07/03/2015 22:46

lion

I thought that!!! Just couldn't type it coherently!!

jessica

Wine don't forget that blowjobs are good for your teeth

petunia

Good point

sassylassie15 · 07/03/2015 22:48

The Green Party? More like The Peen Party!

Lioninthesun · 07/03/2015 22:49

Oh, nevermind - unsurprisingly it looks as though the almost mythical Prosoglandin isn't "found only in semen" - unless you lived in 1935. Since then it has "been found in almost every tissue in humans and other animals" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prostaglandin
And there was me thinking all the scientists in the world had been barking up the wrong tree...
