Gosh those threads were a bit depressing. The ones where we were ruining feminism for evdryone

Really not seeing hula hoops = anuses! Resisting the urge to buy a bag and lock myself away with a mirror to compare.

Having read both threads about how we're great big meanies, I'm now wondering if there's some other really vicious FWR elsewhere. Because I didn't recognise much of the description. Aside from the worry about feeling intellectually inferior, but that's not actually the fault of anyone here.

UptoapointLordCopper · 31/10/2014 15:35

I vaguely saw the other threads. This is the only board I read most days where I can expect to learn something. FWR is awesome. Smile A bit like Scott and Bailey without the murders. Grin

Oubliette DSs love the cottage. V. quaint but all mod cons. And we swam everyday. Though perhaps we ought to have read the map in the cottage a bit more carefully before we set off across the fields to the tor... Still, it's all good exercise ...

rosdearg · 31/10/2014 15:44

Oh alright then Stormy, cock rings

PumpkinGordino · 31/10/2014 15:44

Important Question:

did you take the frying pan and sharp knives?

UptoapointLordCopper · 31/10/2014 16:02

Grin pumpkin. Didn't bring either. Brought foil and cooked everything in oven. Things that didn't require chopping.

DoctorTwo · 31/10/2014 16:54

I have no idea what man crisps are

UptoapointLordCopper · 31/10/2014 17:25

DoctorTwo Man crisps are crisps specially manufactured for the manly jaws of, well, men, and not for the soft and feminine. I suppose it could be a euphemism, but I shudder to think what it might be.

sorry to barge in with something that is a propos of nothing, but i jsut wanted to say i am ridiculously excited that dp has booked for us to see bridget christie's show next weekend!

DoctorTwo · 31/10/2014 18:04

Thanks LordC, So they're them kettle chips, the ones I dislike.

That's fab Pumpkin, she's really funny.

I'm drinking a beer new to me, it's Affligem Triple, and blimey it's dangerous. 9.2% alcohol and it doesn't taste that strong.

UptoapointLordCopper · 31/10/2014 18:36

Been shopping for car. Had to say explicitly to salesman that he should include me in the conversation because I'm the main driver. Why can't we buy cars in a self service style? And why do people persist in calling a woman mrs after being told not to? And why do people make things up that destroy their credibility? I just don't understand RL. Can I just stay here for a while to recover?

Zazzles007 · 31/10/2014 18:56

wheat crunchies = foreskins
hula hoops = anuses or cock rings
wotsits = small boys' cheesy penises

Grin Grin Grin

YonicScrewdriver · 31/10/2014 18:58

DoctorTwo, McCoys are man crisps. Definitely not those scratchy Kettle Crisp jobs.

Yep LordC, the pub is a haven from the crazy world out there. I've only been here, what, several weeks now, I think, but it makes a huge difference to have somewhere to 'go' where people are rational and logical, a place that makes sense in the crazy, jumbled merry-go-round that is society these days.

YonicScrewdriver · 31/10/2014 19:05

Is popcorn sufficiently non-sexed to be served in the pub?

UnwittingAccomplice · 31/10/2014 19:05

A woman just walked past wearing a top saying "twerk it because you can". Well, I can't. And if I could I wouldn't. Not that I fully understand twerking mind you but I get the impression that it's about being sexually available or at least appearing so?

UptoapointLordCopper · 31/10/2014 19:07

YY zazzles.

Next shopping items: shoes for kids. Hopefully no need to encounter sexism. Maybe I'll just order them online (shoes, not sexism, I mean) ... >

UnwittingAccomplice · 31/10/2014 19:07

I think we should have pork scratchings. Not necessarily feminist but yum.

Getting up and down for trick or treaters is exhausting.

Run out of sweets now, so am having to scour the cupboards for stale old biscuits

ZombiePuffinsAreREAL · 31/10/2014 19:26

Zazzles... you're in Oz iirc? Do they still have twisties there? Cheese Twisties are the best crisps ever invented.

No T&Ters here, but we are miserable bastards and haven't put the jack o'lantern in the front room. He's fending off the risen dead in the dining room.

BellaSolanum · 31/10/2014 19:27

MyEmpire Suspect it's because until recently it was "only" women of colour doing it, it's only notable if white women do it Hmm
