are you driving there lordc? if so, chuck them in, they won't take up much space and it's not like you're lugging them through an airport

UptoapointLordCopper · 22/10/2014 12:36

Sabrinnnnnnnna We don't have a dishwasher. Just easy sponge clean - like cleaning a plate - after scrambled eggs, and fried eggs never stick. They are the best thing ever. Pricey, but worth every penny.

We are driving.

It still feels a bit mad though ...

Maybe we just won't cook.

Still, scrambled eggs ... yum ....

PumpkinGordino · 22/10/2014 12:38

mad? i take the best frying pan when we go camping. i know you have to take your own stuff anyway for that, but it's supposed to be a holiday not a prison camp

UptoapointLordCopper · 22/10/2014 12:52

How about non-stick silicon mat thing for oven-cooking? Or is one allowed to be less green and use foil or disposable non-stick parchment instead?

UptoapointLordCopper · 22/10/2014 12:53

We are quite minimalist when we go camping, but I have taken the precaution of buying a Trangia with non-stick saucepans and frying pan. Friends tell me that's cheating, but do I care?

PumpkinGordino · 22/10/2014 12:55

it's a holiday. in the nicest possible way, take whatever the fuck you like Grin

UptoapointLordCopper · 22/10/2014 13:14

LOL. At this rate we might have to holiday in one of those enormous American-style motorhomes. Grin

More to the point, I guess, is to research nearby restaurants and pubs ... But to work first!

PenguinsIsSleepDeprived · 22/10/2014 13:41

We are taking a sharp knife and a pancake pan on holiday. DH has A List and these were vital items. Grin

pantone363 · 22/10/2014 13:43

I don't usually post here, but just wanted to say I'm sat in a lecture hall about to hear Julie Bindel debate hardcore pornography Grin

PenguinsIsSleepDeprived · 22/10/2014 13:44

Oooh. Smile

PuffinsAreFicticious · 22/10/2014 14:16

Lucky you! She is an amazing speaker, enjoy!

SconeRhymesWithGone · 22/10/2014 14:25

There was a thread a while back about what people take on self-catering holidays. Many people it seems take half their house with them so I wouldn't worry about a frying pan being OTT. We take our fancy coffee maker if we are driving. It's no holiday for me if I can't have good coffee.

UptoapointLordCopper · 22/10/2014 15:02

I think I remember that thread. Some people take their three-tier electric steamers. Grin

I don't even know why I feel weird thinking about taking the frying pan. Who cares? Who police these things? I blame it on the patriarchy.

Must I take the kids though?

PumpkinGordino · 22/10/2014 15:29

so after resigning with nothing to go to, i have now been offered a new job which should allow me to pursue the studies i'm doing without nearly killing me (as was the case with current job). just two weeks to go, and then it all gets easier...

PumpkinGordino · 22/10/2014 15:30

(this is an enormous relief btw - i was in the fortunate position of being able to resign without it being a problem if i were out of work for a couple of months, but any more than that and things would have got difficult)

SconeRhymesWithGone · 22/10/2014 15:40

Ha! We are now taking kids and grandkids. And the only thing they all care about is if there is wifi.

Congratulations, Pumpkin! That is great news.
