He didn't get it, did he?

My personal view is that a suspended sentence was in order for the level of the assault and the fact that he has no other convictions.

But that speech on the steps of the court moved me to touch him, and not in a touchy-feely kind of way.

He'll never get it, he believes his right to act the way he does trumps everyone else's right to be left alone by him.

On a separate note, the Sunday Times journalist who interviewed him but didn't report him was in court to see him sentenced and I heard her say he was very aggressive towards her prior to the Judge entering the court. Just confirms what you and I have said, he doesn't get it and doesn't want to hear it.

AnyFucker · 26/09/2014 18:37

No apology, no remorse.

I hope he never works again.

2cats2many · 26/09/2014 18:43

Seconded. What a knob.

PuffinsAreFicticious · 26/09/2014 18:45

Utter utter utter cunt.

emotionsecho · 26/09/2014 18:52

AF I don't think he will work again I certainly hope he doesn't and he is several hundred thousand pounds out of pocket. That's the best I can come up with I'm afraid.

AnyFucker · 26/09/2014 18:57

That'll do me

limitedperiodonly · 26/09/2014 19:06

He won't work again AF and I heard his defence cost £350,000.

I wonder who the person is that secured a conviction. She was a researcher on Mrs Merton who's apparently now much more important.

I don't require her to out herself but if she did, I'd like that, because he's a sad old wanker and she's doing well and I'd love to see her crow.

One of the others was Camilla Long at the Sunday Times. I read her original piece and believed it. She's been criticised on MN for other things she's written, but for me, that doesn't diminish what she wrote.

She was the one emotionecho said that he tried to intimidate. I thought she was also on the charge sheet, but I might be wrong.

She gave a speech on the steps too. Good on her.

The Sunday papers might be interesting reading.

Poor widdle Lairy Cornflake is mortified, you know.Hmm

NitramAtTheKrap · 26/09/2014 19:11

The woman who was the researcher on Mrs Merton is discoverable with a bit of googling. She's spoken about it publically before but now for some reason can't. I don't want to out her.

PuffinsAreFicticious · 26/09/2014 19:16

I've just listened to the speech he gave on the steps. And am completely WTF about it. He basically called his victim a fucking liar.

The is no pit in hell deep enough.

emotionsecho · 26/09/2014 19:17

limitedperiodonly, I thought I heard Camilla Long (thank you for the name, I missed it) said in an interview that she didn't report or press charges against him, but I believed her too and her description of his behaviour towards her today was awful.

rutters1 · 26/09/2014 19:33

Barbara Windsor can expect a visit from the Met very soon.

(at 24 seconds)

PuffinsAreFicticious · 26/09/2014 19:46

Oh, have those 2 actors made complaints to them then? Or are you just doing what you always do and bringing up false equivalents?

Bakeoffcakes · 26/09/2014 19:47

He's a cunt isn't he.

I'm glad he's had to sell his house and won't work again. It'll give him time to have a think about his disgusting behaviour.

gincamparidryvermouth · 26/09/2014 20:12

rutters why not save yourself the time it takes to dredge up counterexamples and just post "WAJAB" on threads like these?

PetulaGordino · 26/09/2014 20:13

revolting man

rutters1 · 26/09/2014 20:59

Using sexual abuse to sell bingo!!!

That ok for everyone?

Wonder if Gillette should show a man goosing two women to sell razor blades..hmmm..might get a mention on here

SevenZarkSeven · 26/09/2014 21:07

It doesn't surprise me at all rutters that you can't tell the difference between someone agreeing to be in an advert where someone pinches your arse (and is probably pretending), and being cornered and sexually assaulted by a physically intimidating man.

I mean christ some people really are thick as mince. And haven't heard of CONSENT, not that that is in any way surprising Hmm

PetulaGordino · 26/09/2014 21:08

no one thinks the advert is ok. but presumably the actors consented to being in the shitty thing, and barbara windsor isn't going about denying that she did it

care to comment on the fact that in the real world women were subjected to distressing indecent assaults by a man who thinks he has a right to touch a woman's body against her will?

SevenZarkSeven · 26/09/2014 21:10

Oh I see you have decided now you don't like that advert because it's making light of sexual assault (fair point) whereas before you said you thought Barbara Windsor ought to be arrested, which I assume was not serious, and your actual point was that the case should never have been brought against DLT and he should go free.

If you want to talk about crap adverts that legitimise all sorts of bad/illegal behaviour then this thread which is about a man who has just been convicted of sexual assault is not the place to do it.

PetulaGordino · 26/09/2014 21:10

distract, distract, distract...

at all costs must stop women talking about the entitled and abusive behaviour of men!

rutters1 · 26/09/2014 21:31

sorry ladies..I must just get used to seeing men sexually abused for fun so women can have their bingo, they did consent after all (now where's that thread on page 3)

Seriously, try reversing the genders..

OR

...carry on with the naval gazing

AnyFucker · 26/09/2014 21:34

what bollocks, rutter

this is a thread about DLT

if you have a comment about Barbra Windsor, start one

I would probably be on it saying I disagree with sexual objectification, full stop

you don't want to hear that though, do you ?

PetulaGordino · 26/09/2014 21:40

no one thinks that advert is ok. stop derailing away from DLT. any comments on his behaviour?

TessOfTheFurbyvilles · 26/09/2014 21:46

Oh for fuck's sake, no-one is saying the advert is OK, personally I hate such adverts.

However, derailing a thread about ACTUAL sexual assault, by raising something that occurs in an ADVERT is fucking stupid.

Rather than ranting on here, have you complained to Jackpot Joy, and if not don't you think you should? They're the ones who fucking made the advert after all!
