Right, thought I'd better start a new pub. I warn you, my knowledge of Roman numerals conks out shortly after this one, so either buffy will have to start the next thread, or we'll have to go Arabic.

Everyone is welcome in - if you want to chat, or just jump in with a question/link/gin, please do. Smile Especially if it's too small for a thread or you don't feel up to thread-starting.

The old thread has, at my count, about 9 posts to go, and it was here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/2126791-Feminist-Pub-VIII-not-as-prolific-as-the-Swaggerers-but-there-are-cushions-and-consciousness?

We were just chatting about feministy light reading, and will doubtless meander onto other topics shortly. Smile

wrote a long post musing on the Events of the Afternoon on Another Fred and then deleted it. too depressing. what the hell I'll buy myself a novel instead, why not.

Lambkin seems to have fucked off though.

Dear all, I have been out and am just a little bit tipsy. >

LRDtheFeministDragon · 19/08/2014 23:22

"Well they're right, it's a good car for a lady because they're very safe when you crash."

Sorry, but that had me laughing and grimacing in equal measure. Isn't it strange that some still hold these views?

PetulaGordino · 20/08/2014 07:20

Alarming to hear that men should be driving cars that are less safe when they crash

LRD Yes - chatted for about 4 hours. Shock Smile

You people have all got it wrong. Male drivers don't crash. If they do it's because of all these female drivers on the road being a menace. And the stats are probably some feminist conspiracy.

PetulaGordino · 20/08/2014 09:40

those are the best nights LordC

SevenZarkSeven · 20/08/2014 10:01

GAH it's on the main news page now:

here

I sent a comment via an "inaccuracies" link I saw here so if anyone else feels like droppping them a line to say that "no criming" is when the police decide there has been no crime, not as they state because the complainant withdraws their complaint, then please do so!

Given that they have reported themselves many times on the problem of forces "no criming" rape claims, to then put an article out which basically says that rape claims are no crimed when the person who reported says "actually nothing happened" is really irresponsible.

Again, sorry for butting in!

That thread is vile Just... I might have lost my rag a bit.

Do whatever you need to do to get through the trial Just. We'll be here providing moral support, even if you feel you can't post. You are incredibly brave. Thanks

Going back a bit now, but @LRD - Setraline. I have a hefty dose of anxiety too though and it's a good one for that. 3 weeks in and a new woman!

Now, back to catch up....

trevortrevorslattery · 20/08/2014 13:36

Flowers Just

Ooh I have come to get a round in to say thankyou. I have stood up for myself on the facebook on a debate about No More Page 3.
Thanks to everything I've read on FWR I feel confident about it but still a little bit shaky.

Oh and this is going back upthread a bit but I think it was Buffy suggested a commune for aged feminists but Annie didn't fancy it. Could this be the answer?

Life in a Carthusian priory

Everyone gets their own little cell with a garden and reading books. . the kitchen staff bring dinner to a little revolving hatch thing, then there is some communal time but not much. I went to Mount Grace Priory in N Yorkshire on my hols and was very taken with the idea!
