*it
Well I understand that it MUST be very frustrating from a punter/pimp's perspective...what if the law spreads to even more countries?
What if women and children stop being seen as goods to be bought and sold in every single country?
The misogynist's nightmare.

SabrinaMulhollandJjones · 18/04/2014 19:33

It's because all Swedes hate sex, isn't Briar. They're famous for it.

Here we go again with the dysphemisms and emotive language implying men are actually "buying women" (which doesn't make any sense unless it happens to be a slave auction).

And child sexual abuse is illegal everywhere so I don't know why you mentioned children almost as if you were trying to imply it wasn't.

sotegsoteg · 18/04/2014 20:54

What if decrim spreads to more countries? What if Norway stops using the nordic model (which some have suggested)?

Can you imagine a system where sexworkers have rights and are seen as people. Shockeroonie.

soteg's views about women and whether he views them as people or not has been made clear in his previous posts. Hence his pretence at caring about what happens to women who work as prostitutes is laughable.

I wonder if any of these men who are so concerned about the the rights of people who work in the sex industry extends to volunteering to help those who want to leave the industry, donating money to charities that help women and girls, going on p*net type sites and exhorting posters not to buy women or girls who appear traumatised, or who they expect may be coerced or controlled, or who seem too young, and report suspicions to the police etc etc etc etc

I think that only takes one guess.

SabrinaMulhollandJjones · 18/04/2014 21:27

sote - you don't treat any women as people.

SabrinaMulhollandJjones · 18/04/2014 21:34

I mentioned women and children because women and children are trafficked by organised criminals to sate the demand for punters like you. Or are you another ethical punter - you know, with magical powers to tell that the women you pay to fuck aren't underage or coerced in any way?

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 18/04/2014 21:48

Why do you want to have sex on women who have to be paid to hide their revulsion, sote?

No prostitute has any real way of vetting her customers. They very rarely tell you their name and in most cases you only have a phone number to go off. This is why I will always support decriminalisation. I've been assaulted through work, they have carried on when I've asked them to stop and in some cases I've wanted them to go as soon as they walked in but I was on my own and there was no way I was going to get into a fight with someone 2x my size.

If I was working with other women, in a licensed brothel or whatever then the risk of those things happening again would be reduced. I'm aware that there is always a risk in this line of work but there are many ways the law could be changed to make it safer for us who do it everyday.

Criminalising the buyer won't encourage women like me to report crime. I would be to worried to because of any repercussions that may follow.

SabrinaMulhollandJjones · 19/04/2014 00:11

migsy, were there any repercussions to your posts being found on mumsnet last time?

fwiw, I don't have any problem with women working together - but I do have a problem with people profiting from women like this, in the way your friend is. It is exploitation. The personal risk to him is zero. He's not the one who will be injured or assaulted - but he takes always his cut. He has kept you in 'debt' - and kept you in the dark about how much of this 'debt' is still outstanding. You are probably aware that this is one of the tools that traffickers use to control their victims too?

SabrinaMulhollandJjones · 19/04/2014 00:11

I hope you're ok, btw.

migsymoo · 19/04/2014 18:34

Yes, I mentioned before that he wasn't happy with what I said and if I was so unhappy I should leave there and then. But since then he's been staying over more and has been going out of his way to help. I haven't mentioned about leaving and won't do until I have somewhere else to go. Thanks for thinking about me xx

Creeping · 20/04/2014 01:14

He's calling your bluff, Migsy. Please don't discuss your way out with him. He will become nicer and nicer but it's not genuine. He will be losing an easy source of income and that's his real motivation to stay over. Good job of not mentioning your leaving prostitution with him. Don't be tempted to confide in him. You'll get there without him. And with MN behind you!

btw doesn't Cincinnati have the internet?

hannah459 · 05/05/2014 19:33

Flora - Care to enlighten me as to exactly what lies they told?

hannah459 · 10/05/2014 21:20

None of you watched 'Love for Sale'?....it's more representative of prostitution than anything I've seen on the box before.

CaptChaos · 09/07/2014 18:42

Oh well, let's hope others making the same decision actually care about women, instead of wanting them to continue to be the sex class.

BriarRainbowshimmer · 09/07/2014 20:35

And here I thought France would perhaps care about women's human rights.
So it remains legal to be a goddamn punter. (The seller isn't criminalized under the Nordic Model.)

quertber · 09/07/2014 21:27

"The seller isn't criminalized under the Nordic Model"

Actually under the Nordic model selling sex is illegal if more than 1 work together. Advertising sexual services is also illegal under the Nordic model.

It is only decriminalization (e.g., New Zealand) where selling sex (between adults) is outright legal.

CaptChaos · 09/07/2014 21:30

So, you agree that under the Nordic Model, the seller isn't criminalised. Good.
