"We know that the amount of prostitution has reduced in Sweden."

On the street, yes.

Grennie · 18/04/2014 01:24

Nope generally. Read the research

sotegsoteg · 18/04/2014 01:26

The amount of street prostitution has also reduced in other countries including the UK. I wonder if it could be something to do with that invention called the internet which enables clients to find and contact sexworkers online?

Grennie · 18/04/2014 01:27

the overall level of prostitution has decreased in Sweden, whereas in the Netherlands it has soared

FloraFox · 18/04/2014 01:30

I got 40 mins into that video and it's clear neither LauraLee nor Douglas Fox could make their case without telling lies. Nothing new there.

sotegsoteg · 18/04/2014 01:31

Such claims are meaningless without a source.

SabrinaMulhollandJjones · 18/04/2014 01:39

Punterpimps who are banned users are meaningless. And tiresome.

sotegsoteg · 18/04/2014 01:46

"Punterpimp" that's a new one.

FloraFox · 18/04/2014 01:46

newpunter we've been through this before with your ilk, or possibly you before with a different name. We know your sources are bogus and selective.

SabrinaMulhollandJjones · 18/04/2014 01:51

And we know you've been on all the previous threads - you know the sources - so jog on punterpimp.

sotegsoteg · 18/04/2014 01:59

"We know your sources are bogus and selective."

Rather rich coming from people who quote Melissa Farley/Julie Bindle/Rachel Moran as "sources".

FloraFox · 18/04/2014 02:01

Yeah yeah, we've heard it. Bore off.

sotegsoteg · 18/04/2014 02:06

But I want to know how the nordic model can be enforced. 1 How can the cops catch the clients and 2 if the cops do catch a client how can they get a conviction if the sexworker isn't willing to testify against him?

Rhoda couldn't answer that. Can you?

SabrinaMulhollandJjones · 18/04/2014 02:09
SabrinaMulhollandJjones · 18/04/2014 02:15

^ goodness though, it's 10 minutes long! Can you manage that long an attention span, sote?

You don't fool us that you're talking freedom of choice, or for the safety of the sellers of sex - you're in the market of making money out of the bodies of women, and of having a plentiful supply of women's bodies that you either pay for sex, or profit from.

We see you.

sotegsoteg · 18/04/2014 02:18

"I don't have an academic background
I haven't done any research"

I've watched 10 seconds so far and heard this.

This should be fun.

SabrinaMulhollandJjones · 18/04/2014 02:19

He's a police officer - keep going.

SabrinaMulhollandJjones · 18/04/2014 02:20

He arrests people like you, sote.

sotegsoteg · 18/04/2014 02:31

So when they have tracked down where an escort is working they spend hours watching the building and every man who goes in becomes a suspected buyer.

I guess crime must be really low in Sweden if they can afford to use such massive amounts of police time and resources trying to hunt down consenting adults who engage in consensual sex. One would think the police had nothing better to do.

FloraFox · 18/04/2014 02:33

If I wanted to know how the police catch criminals, I'd ask a cop who catches criminals, not an academic researcher. However, if I wanted some dissembling, punter-excusing, pseudo-libertarian nonsense to allow me to close my eyes to reality, I would find a pimp-lobby academic.

FloraFox · 18/04/2014 02:34

In fact, the police have nothing better to do than catch criminals. Funny that, being the police force and all.

SabrinaMulhollandJjones · 18/04/2014 02:37

A pimp-lobby ahem ahem "academic" Flora Wink

Sote - listen again to it. The women weren't necessarily consenting. A large number were trafficked. That's the point. And he could find them, he could arrest them. Ach - it's a problem for you, isn't it?

SabrinaMulhollandJjones · 18/04/2014 02:38

Police spending their working hours catching criminals eh? Who knew??

sotegsoteg · 18/04/2014 02:38

I would rather the police spent their (limited) resources fighting real crime. You know theft, robbery, assaults, murder, rape, fraud etc etc

SabrinaMulhollandJjones · 18/04/2014 02:40

Punters and pimps are real criminals, sote. It's his job.

Are you one of those twats that says to traffic officers "go and catch the real criminals" when you're caught speeding?
