Radical feminism and PIV

Hi just wanted to ask radical feminists and their allies their views of piv sex, I have no one I can ask in RL about this.

I can understand why PIV sex is inherently unsafe and that viewing PIV sex as the goal of sex is misogynous. But I really can't fathom the view that PIV sex is inherently abusive. Can anyone explain it very very basically? And do all radical feminists think PIV sex is inherently abusive?

Maybe, but this blogger seems to be the default when it comes to the PIV topic. I am simply saying that her view is probably not the best, given that she is completely unhinged.

Sorry I do take your point. I will read her blog, but any other links or any other explanations here are very much appreciated. As I said I really don't see why PIV is inherently abusive, so I wanted to understand this POV better, before making up my own mind.

Do you have a link to where she states favour of aborting boys, btw? Are you sure it wasn't tongue in cheek? You know, seeing as in a lot of countries, female fetuses are routinely aborted...

You see I can imagine a radical feminist saying something along the lines of - well if X thinks it is justifiable to abort girls on social grounds, then as radical feminists we should advocate aborting boys on the grounds of patriarchy. Of course this does not mean the blogger is advocating aborting boys. But such a stance reminds me of the F4J. quotes that they use of what MNers have said

Interesting. Most of her quotes have been taken down, not surprising since they were circulating all over the web and probably attracting the vitriol they deserved. There are plenty of screen grabs of them though etc...I'll dig around later..

We'll need to eat a bit faster if we want to catch up with the figures of missing girls that have been eliminated through sex selection.

No, she doesn't advocate eating them, just killing them.

Yep, thats the thread, except some of the comments have been removed, the killing male babies ones primarily. Obviously don't have that much courage of conviction after all.

Are you sure sigmund? I'm very disappointed if so, I thought she was a proper rad fem. Do you know how many she and the other rad fems have killed then? Is it anything like the millions of girls who are missing from the world?

On topic - OP I am in the same place, I think in SO MANY CONTEXTS in this society PIV is abusive. But would it be so in a non-patriarchy? Is it abusive for consensual (bearing in mind all caveats) reproduction etc.

Given that so few people even question the sex = PIV status quo, I don't worry too much about the details. But I wonder the same things as you OP.

Radical feminism doesn't involve killing babies?
