Agenda, much?

I don't usually wander onto the MN facebook page but I was pretty horrified to find what looks very much like an MRA agenda posted on there.
I'm trying very hard to see what relevance the photo used for their site has regarding the voices of unheard children. Hmm Looks more like how they would like to see their women to me.

sssh, nyac... They're all in this together... Wink

FrothyDragon · 03/03/2012 23:13

Oooh, I've been racist towards a town? Do I get a prize for being the first person to manage that?

FrothyDragon · 03/03/2012 23:55

SDTG, if you're who I think you are, you've been brilliant on that thread

Onesunnymorningin2012 · 04/03/2012 00:14

Now they've added a link to this page with much whining. eyeroll

FrothyDragon · 04/03/2012 00:20

Good morning, Fathers 4 Justice. Are you enjoying watching us laughing at your stupidity?

LineRunner · 04/03/2012 00:29

My children's father lives 2 miles away and can't be arsed to see them more than once a month. My daughter spoke to him today to ask him to pop over and help put a couple of shelves up in her room.

He said, Can't one of your friends' fathers do it? I'm busy.

My daughter receives £30 a week from him. He earns £35k+ a year.

Fathers For Convenience, methinks.

FrothyDragon · 04/03/2012 00:40

Linerunner, I'm so sorry to hear that. :(

It's amazing how little of a fuck some fathers give, then they sit down the pub, moaning to all that will listen about how evil their ex-partners are for taking their kids out of their life.

It's exactly what my ex did with his ex wife. And, from what friends have said, he's done the same with me. Neither of his sons would know him from Adam

FrothyDragon · 04/03/2012 00:45

I got a full house on MRA bingo! Grin

Oooh, my OP made the MN facebook page .
Some of the posts are still there Frothy, seems like they've taken down the ones with the photo or links to their site.
If those pigs thought they were flying under the radar and no-one would take issue with them/ beleive that they were being all reasonable, I'm pleased to see them get the pasting they deserved.

Was actually quite stress relieving... Grin

On a side note, forwarded the poster to a male friend; first out he asked why they were trying to silence women. Then I explained the story behind it. I didn't explain my feelings behind it. The first thing he said was "and they feel it's appropriate to photograph minors like that?"... wasn't just me that believed it was concerning, then...

TeaJennie · 04/03/2012 12:30

Wow! Never have I come across such abusive outbursts before. Is it really relevant to refer to men in such terms as "needledick", "bullies", "arsehole", etc etc? Men that you have never met, and don't know? Are you basing your opinion of those men who posted with reasonableness and politeness on the FB page upon your own failed relationships?

Perhaps if you actually listened to the arguments in favour of shared parenting rather than swearing and shouting abuse at those who have tried to open up debate, you might actually hear what is being said, and then make an informed opinion. None of the opinions expressed in this thread are informed or reasonable - they are all blatant misandry (and yes it is a word!!).

Women like you give the decent ones a very bad name - you are blinkered in your views, and refuse to listen to anyone who doesn't agree with your ill-informed and unintelligent views.

And yes - Im a woman and a mother!

FrothyDragon · 04/03/2012 12:42

Did you see the posts, Jennie?

gives up and quits life

TeaJennie · 04/03/2012 12:45

Yes, of course I saw the posts, "Frothy".

Then, you'd have seen that Ludmil, for one, took to insulting single mothers every time he posted.

You'd have seen that several of us tried to have a reasoned and well informed debate with Rod, to be shouted down with accusations of "man-hating".

And not every thread in FWR needs to be an in depth analysis of misogyny, or anything for that matter.

As to your claims of misandry, please read the thread "Misandry Doesn't Exist".

The only people who think misandry exists, are kneejerkers who don't actually know any history and are in denial about structural sexism in society.

It's a bit like saying that black anti white racism exists. Well guess what, there may be one or two black people out there who really hate white people just because of their colour, but you know what? They're not running the government, the financial system, the health service, the media, culture... they really don't matter and they pale into insignificance besides structural white racism.

Same with so-called misandry versus genuine real misogyny. I love the way even spelling the word misandry here gets a red wavy line as a wrong word. Grin

BasilRathbone · 04/03/2012 12:53

And what SGB said.

Grin
TeaJennie · 04/03/2012 12:54

My psyche is just fine thanks "Basil" - and I am indeed a woman.

I didn't see any "misogynist bile" posted last night - perhaps you might like to quote some of that alleged bile here?

I'm fully aware that mothers are not one homogeneous mass - which is just as well because I would hate to equated to the abusive, screeching, men-hating banshees that were posting last night, and on this post.

My self-respect remains intact, and I don't require your pity - there is nothing pitiful about someone who respects those who are fighting for equal parenting rights.
