Agenda, much?

I don't usually wander onto the MN facebook page but I was pretty horrified to find what looks very much like an MRA agenda posted on there.
I'm trying very hard to see what relevance the photo used for their site has regarding the voices of unheard children. Hmm Looks more like how they would like to see their women to me.

nyac, the post of mine which was deleted was similar in content to yours. It was pointing out that the man involved in the legal case over state side had in fact lied. How does that break the rooles round here?

Nyac · 06/03/2012 22:12

Is she a Mumsnetter BTW, or can I say what i think of her, as a public figure?

LineRunner · 06/03/2012 22:13

Rowan, that makes your deletions of posts inexplicable, to be honest. That means you just decided to do it, because, hey, some F4J guy just asked and you thought, well what the hell why not?

FrothyDragon · 06/03/2012 22:14

SmellsLikeTeenStrop, if you click "report" on the deleted post, if you posted it, you can find out why it was deleted. They'll email to the email address registered to the account.

Why are criticisms of F4J being deleted?

And already-published articles about their members?

Is this some kind of policy now - men's rights activists to have the red carpet rolled out for them?

Dworkin · 06/03/2012 22:15

"Hello Gender warriors" WTAF?

This is about biology. Not fecking gender.

MNHQ shame on you. You didn't believe me. You said you would, but you didn't.

Dworkin · 06/03/2012 22:17

So let's rename this forum as "gentle, laydies, say so 'rights', snigger"

SmellsLikeTeenStrop · 06/03/2012 22:17

thanks frothy, I have done so. I was going to say earlier that I'm glad I decided to give this place another go, but now I'm feeling squished by over moderation.

BasilRathbone · 06/03/2012 22:18

Message deleted for not kissing MRA ass.

LineRunner · 06/03/2012 22:18

MNHQ I filled out your survey because you asked. Because I trusted you.

But you deleted me.

Dworkin · 06/03/2012 22:19

I have no idea why I was deleted. Has this forum been cyber attacked?

FrothyDragon · 06/03/2012 22:20

Interesting. MNT correspondence with Nadine from F4J as follows...

Nadine O'Connor: Oh dear it would appear people on @MumsnetTowers are claiming @OfficialF4J people are "alcoholic, wife beating thugs".

Nadine O'Connor: @MumsnetTowers sorry last time I looked in the mirror the Campaign Director of @OfficialF4J was all woman, teetotal & I've never had a wife.

Mumsnet: @NadineOC @OfficialF4J Thanks for bringing the posts to our attention; if we can find them we will delete them. For future ref... (1/2)

Mumsnet: @NadineOC @OfficialF4J (2/2) please use the 'report' button on each post; it's a much easier way for us to identify problematic posts.

Nadine: @MumsnetTowers I shall pass on your message. Intelligent debate always welcome but attacking & generalising all men not.

Nadine: @MumsnetTowers thank you over third of our members are women and they are finding the anti men sentiment on ur message boards very upsetting

Dear MNHQ. Would it be too much for you to stand on OUR SIDE for once? Once in a blue moon is all we're asking here?

SinicalSanta · 06/03/2012 22:20

Why on earth?
you don't have to delete something just because you are asked to. if it doesn't break guidelines. So why?

Nyac · 06/03/2012 22:21

Weirdly enough I can't find that Telegraph article now to quote Matt O'Connor's statement about why he disbanded F4J where he was highly critical of his other fathers rights campaigners.

Can I have my post back please Mumsnet. Maybe you could PM me with it.

LineRunner · 06/03/2012 22:22

This is disgusting, MNHQ.

Nyac · 06/03/2012 22:22

That's a bit sad to see Mumsnet sucking up to F4J of all people.

Once again has their publicly criminal behaviour already been forgotten about?

Nyac · 06/03/2012 22:23

They don't delete posts just because they're asked to.

I've had quite a few personal attacks against me left standing.

I think, as has been pointed out to us before now, the feminist/women's rights section is about feminism not a feminist section when feminist ideas wil be upheld by the moderators.

I think we have to face up to the fact that criticizing men's rights organizations is not an acceptable thing to do on MN. it is however, evidently perfectly acceptable to mount personal and collective attacks on posters who are openly feminist. Perhaps we are less likely to sue and bring about financial Armageddon.

SinicalSanta · 06/03/2012 22:24

ANTI MEN sentiment?

Are you fucking serious?

Why the fuck are ordinary people getting offended by ANTI BULLY sentiment?

Why are ordinary people NOT even ON this message board getting precedence over established members?

Having seen how many posts have been deleted this is ridiculous. No one has said all men are anything. She has no grounds for that and it talking utter bollocks. I appreciate that mentions of people by their names is problematic, but opinions of F4J, of the debate around family law, copy and pastes from newspaper articles are NOT personal attacks or defamatory. They are trolling the board, and yet you are basically deleting posts by their request? Even though they have been incited to come here and troll us and report posts?
