I'm a lurker on these boards but I enjoyed reading Dittany's posts and wondered where she's gone.

hi dittany!! Was just thinking about you the other day. I find myself turning up at mumsnet recently. I was badly bitten by a troll, and it seriously put me off mumsnet, especially when I reported it and nothing happened (Said troll dug up my MN history from 2-3 years ago and used random shit from my childhood against me, telling me it "wasn't my fault" but my worldview was skewed because of my experience, which is what led to me being a feminist.

Not sure why MN is more concerned about protecting these awful men than its regulars. That's what got me about that incident: that even MNHQ knows how dangerous men can be, and they'd rather piss off an innocuous female regular than face the wrath of a psychotic bloke.

thats kind of the point no? the greatest thing about MN is thats its relatively uncensored ... and its a really good question as how to protect and not censor. its why this is the most vibrant and real (emotional / practical / intellectual) that i have come across ever ...

MNHQ might start taking it more seriously now

no not banned sardine queen. MN didn't even reply to me about it when I reported it, clearly very upset and triggered. The trolling was very cleverly done, so I don't fully blame MN completely. It must be hard for them to really get a feel of the history of two posters.
I've heard from SGM that that particular troll is still around under a different name.

God how awful, I'm really surprised you didn't get a reply, that's terrible.

A number of MNers had been reporting that particular troll up until that point, me included, and I knew this because someone sent me a PM saying they'd noticed I was being hounded and picked at, and advised me to report it. But The Post, the triggering one, didn'T get a reply, so I was left basically wondering whether they thought it I was the crazy one.

I once contacted mnhq about something and they didn't reply - I think they get inundated sometimes and things get overlooked. I doubt they meant it pointedly!

You could always send them an email naming the troll and the namechange, saying you know that lots of people have reported them, and reiterating what they did to you. I'm sure they would reply.
