I'm a lurker on these boards but I enjoyed reading Dittany's posts and wondered where she's gone.

Yep the mumsnet sucks and friends gang are still around, which is pretty obvious really. They do continue to identify individual people to target.

That MN Sucks page is vile and the man who runs it is INSANE with rage at women. He is actually scary and, after I had foolishly engaged with him, sent me a friend request. No, thank you!

Perrhaps specific meet up threads could be confined to OTBT?

It would be a shame to take all the feminist topic and hide it away a la SN, as having these threads in active convos is actually very helpful and informative for other posters who don't necessarily go to feminist topic.

I am now namechanging regularly to make it harder for them to target me. We shouldn't have to do this sort of thing, but I do agree with SAF that this board is not a safe space now that it is infested with MRA trolls who are posting about us elsewhere and planning to target individual posters etc.

dittany, I am glad you are still around and I empathise with your post about the atmosphere around here these days.

I am sorry that I didn't hang around and stick up for you when the shit hit the fan. I didn't trust my own resilience and I let you (and others) down.

Your posts have changed my life (not always in a comfortable way ) and I thank you for that.

Lord, I just had a look at the hate group on Faceache. I'm a sometimes member of a very small-scale internet friendship/dating/activities website where about 3 or 4 people got banned for breaking site rules. They set up a hate group as well, cutting and pasting comments from the message boards, saying ghastly things about remaining members and threatening to "take on" some of them. Although it's been probably 3 or 4 years since they were barred, they are still doing it (and keep setting up false profiles to try and rejoin the old site.) The obsession of some people is bizarre.

I would say though be VERY careful. In the situ I described, someone in the hate group found out where a member was employed, sent an anonymous accusation that he was involved in drug dealing (I believe he was working in social care) and he was subject to an investigation. He was of course cleared, but it was incredibly stressful for him and his family. Just be very, very careful folks as you never know what someone who is so hate-filled will be prepared to do.

Dittany I find you hugely knowlegeable and you have challenged my views. I used to lurk on the feminism threads but when i saw toddlerwrangler get a pasting I sort of stayed away after that.

I think the only person I would can a bona fide expert so far on MN would be Tiktok, others that I have encountered might be very well read or enthusiatic about one area or another, but not sure if they have the credentials to back it up IYSWIM?

Gapants - the MN Sucks group is ghastly, but worth a look to see an excellent example of a hate group. If you do an internet search for "Men's Rights," you'll come across shed loads of sites of a similar type. It's not pretty.

I wouldnt bother reporting it. He already has a hugely inflated sense of importance and sees himself as a dangerous maverick who MN want to silence It's all a bit sad really, but reporting his little page will just fuel him. Best just to ignore.

SAF, that's very worrying about the amount of targetting against us going on. Maybe it's something we need to raise with Mumsnet, because it isn't fair for us to be so comprehensively trolled and targeted and not to be able to defend ourselves.

Ooh, Dittany, good to see you briefly. I am watching a Mad Men box set at the mo, and I searched for discussion of it here, saw an old thread of yours, but then didn't read it beyond your OP because I was worried I'd see something spoilerish.

Am now onto season 3 and keep thinking "I would LOVE to know what Dittany thinks of this".

I loved that MN Sucks FB group when I saw it. Basically, one guy talking to himself about how he's going to bring MN down. Then a sensible woman came on and asked him questions. He continued to just talk to himself.

TBH I hate the troll hunting on other parts of the Mumsnet, but there's a big difference between that and spotting actual trolls who spend their time trying to disrupt feminist space and harass and antagonise actual feminists.

We've really lost out here by not being able to name the trolls. Because there are some super-obvious ones at the moment.
