I'm a lurker on these boards but I enjoyed reading Dittany's posts and wondered where she's gone.

Did MNHQ adopt a different tack in the end on the SN board? Or did they maintain the hands off approach? I don't post there so don't know the story

the problem is (that I can see) that a MRA troller is banned under one name, but then just comes back with another

case in point... severin and severout a couple of weeks ago didn't even try to deny trolling

there were also about half a dozen incarnations of "jamez"...each one immediately reported, but not before the fucking inadequate had upset peeps left, right and centre...

Do Mumsnet approve accounts? Perhaps that's something worth considering... Is there also not a way of banning ISP addresses?

I think it's quite easy to get around ISP banning. Can't do it myself but have seen plenty others bragging on other sites how easy it is.
The only thing that will stop it is to have a mod that recognizes antifeminist trolling when they see it and and has the will to do something about it.

That's the thing, as giyadas suggested there I don't think that MNHQ recognise anti-feminist trolling when they see it. So it has to be utterly blatant before they do anything and in the meantime the trolls infest this section and create havoc.

I just did a name search on omarlittlest. She's been posting on MN since July 2010 at the earliest, including on Feminism. I think some paranoia here has led some posters to be unduly suspicious of a bona fide member. That's unfair; it's not hard to search a poster before accusing them.

The MN Sucks page is seriously freaky. Chills me to the bone that someone is that fucked up and hates women so much they spend their time making hate-filled crap animations with time delay vocoder dubbed voices to tell the rest of the world of their hate.

AF SN is only different in that it is not in the 'active' feed, so you have to seek it out in 'topics' (I think anyway...I can't remember needing to opt in :)). We were being trolled horribly, and while it was a shame to be hidden away, it helped with that and did seem neccessary unfortunately.

Whoever is stifling feminism on here is despicable. I hope they get bored soon.
