I'm a lurker on these boards but I enjoyed reading Dittany's posts and wondered where she's gone.

I'm glad to see that you have popped back briefly. I've missed your contributions and I hope to see you posting more in the near future.

Thank you for being so nice everybody, especially given that I'm doing a big old "shall I shan't I?" routine. I'm going to stay on my break but Mumsnet is soooooo hard to keep away from. (I just had to do that fictional feminist heroines thread!)

Tell you what I wouldn't mind seeing here when I do come back though - the word "misandry" excised from the posts of feminists, at least when it's being used as a supposedly valid term. I can't believe that there are actually feminists who think that's an appropriate description (i.e. posh way of saying man-hater/man-hating) to be using about other feminists. Seriously, it's not on. If you're seeing other feminists as man-haters maybe you need to examine your own political allegiances. Misandry was a word invented and popularised by woman-hating, feminism-hating MRAs back in the early 90s. Seeing it being used by feminists with a straight face 20 years on is disturbing. It is completely undermining of feminist analysis and action and it's also a lie.

I'm glad you said that. I cringe every time I see that word.

you are kidding right ? i seriously can be tracked a as fairly unsuccessful poster ( thread killer ) and general lurker ... but forgive me if i have some how been too forward .. i do get the cynicism but i thought this could have been a kind of cool feminist moment - still can be with out me.. will happily bow out here

The only thing I'd worry about with the I Am Spartacus would be that IF a troll caught on, it'd be too easy to confuse "newbies" to feminism (on the trolls account). It'd be giving them a disguise to post MRA posts and misogyny.

It is horrible to be so suspicious of posters and, realise some may be suspicious of me, after all we don't "know" each other but after reading the bile some of these people have written it just seemed too coincidental.

are you sure it's the same omar? There has been a bit of a trend of trolls/posters with an agenda using names that are very similar to existing mn posters, not sure if it's on purpose or not. Just something I noticed.
