So what do we think?

OP posts:
Beachcomber · 09/09/2010 13:42

DSM have you seen any modern porn? What do you think of the latest trends of double anal and bukkake?

Crumpton · 09/09/2010 13:46

I thought that porn in fertility clinics was some sort of myth Blush
It doesn't sound very pleasant or necessary.

piprabbit · 09/09/2010 13:58

I've been laughing at the idea that all men are ready and able to wank at any given instant - without any need for stimuli or any sort, and regardless of the levels of stress they are experiencing (e.g. the successful outcome of 3 years TTC, 1 round of IVF treatment at the cost of £5k and my DP being pumped full of potentially life-threatening drugs is entirely dependent on my being able to knock one out in the next 5 minutes). Nothing like a little pressure to up their performance?

Fatbob · 09/09/2010 14:10

all modern pron is like that is it?

wow i was not aware all porn was double anal and bukkake now....

what ever happend to razzle or readers wives eh?

Beachcomber · 09/09/2010 14:18

Fatbob why are you making things up to disagree with?

I didn't say anything about all modern porn.

Fatbob · 09/09/2010 14:39

sorry what % is double anal then?

is only modern porn thats distasteful?

is this a new thing? or has porn always had extremes?

is any porn ok with you?

MrsTittleMouse · 09/09/2010 14:48

But if men have to bring in their own porn, that that results in more magazines being sold, rather than less. You would need one per prospective father, rather than one per room.

msrisotto · 09/09/2010 14:52

You might find that not that many men actually use porn?

Fatbob · 09/09/2010 14:54

LOL ^

sanielle · 09/09/2010 15:01

Not many? msrisotto? Really?

I bet most adults have watched porn at some time in their lives.

Beachcomber · 09/09/2010 15:07

Fatbob there is a long and interesting thread running on the subject of porn in general in the feminist section.

I'm afraid you won't find answers about what percentage of women in porn have been subjected to double anal penetration, however there is an interesting and useful discussion, with some good links, which examines both the well documented trend within modern porn for becoming more and more hardcore, and, what that says about society.

If you google double anal or bukkake you will find the internet is awash with depictions of these trends (and other abusive, sexist and degrading practices). If you have the stomach for it that is.

HTH.

msrisotto · 09/09/2010 15:09

Yeah I bet most people have watched it at some point but I dunno, I know my OH doesn't use porn paper or video....I'm just not convinced that everyone does. If we knew that everyone needed porn to come (Hmmthen there may be an argument for providing it, but providing it without knowing this is presumptuous and maybe even part of a culture encouraging it's use as normal and essential behaviour.

sanielle · 09/09/2010 15:14

I don't think everyone needs it all the time. I think most people have a time and a place for it. (such as at the IVF clinic when being told to do the deed in to a cup might have put them off).

BTW I a not making a point on the rights or wrongs of porn, just saying I suspect most adults use it. I use it.

pointissima · 09/09/2010 19:14

I loathe porn passionately but funnily enough I was so stressed out about going through infertility and IVF that at the time anything which was of any assistance at all of any sort was just fine. Worrying about whether dh would be able to get his imagination in the right place in a strip lit cubicle would have just been one more thing to worry about

LadyBiscuit · 09/09/2010 19:27

Having had fertility treatment it really doesn't bother me - it's so fucking tough to be doing all this crappy unnatural stuff to get a baby when other people just have a couple of shags and then bingo that really it's the least of my worries.

But then I'm very on the fence when it comes to porn. I'm more of an SGB than a dittany when it comes to it.

Saltatrix · 09/09/2010 19:41

I'm sorry but it is wishful thinking to think men can just produce on demand there needs to be a stimuli for many (normally visual) and especially in those situations where stress and over thinking are in play it is even more difficult.

They are not in infertility clinics bashing out one for fun.

Some blokes can, some blokes can't.

They're all different! Some would come in their pants if the nurse walked down the corridor and winked at them while some would need a horny story with some accompanying visuals to get an erection.

Men (and women) are not one generic lumpen mass.

LadyBiscuit · 09/09/2010 21:40

Can you imagine being asked to cum in a cupboard on tap with people wanting to have a look at your juice? Blimey - what a load of pressure. Something to take your mind off your surroundings probably wouldn't go amiss

UnquietDad · 10/09/2010 09:33

I think if you are genuinely "desperate" to have a baby together - and a lot of people are - ten the stimulus of your man's jizzing is surely a long way down the list of priorities.

Another one saying that it is really not ok for the NHS to be supporting the porn industry.

SolidGoldBrass · 10/09/2010 18:54

FFS! The original article is about some rightwing fucking nutjob who probably started a fuss about the eeeevils of porn-on-the-NHS in a spare few minutes between objecting to sex education in schools and trying to get the abortion limit reduced.
There is certainly plenty of magazine porn that is produced in safe working conditions with models who are not coerced into performing - and you still can;t show things like double anal penetration in a UK magazine.
There are also mags like Foreplay etc which are mainly text-based. And novels about shagging too. Would you object to those?
Frankly, while everyone's entitled to their opinions, anyone who actually tried to take action to ban wank fodder from infertility clinics would be a mean-minded, self-righteous shithead with far too much time on his/her hands.
