Anyone else excited about the women's euros? I'd love to follow the progress of the teams (especially England) with any football-supporting Mumsnetters. Thrilled that it's a home tournament, commiserations to Scotland and Wales for not making it through qualification. Huge congratulations to NI, qualifying for the very first time.

Doesn't have to be just match-related, either - comments on the background to each women's team (especially from non-British fans), and of course the kits all welcomed.

I can't believe it!

I've got tickets for the next England game.

DuncinToffee · 11/07/2022 21:04

Did anyone that MN actually created a special board for the Euros? I didn’t

It is a shame this isn't as well advertised/supported in general.

Even on MN the following is so much greater, in eleven days we filled a thread on the mens Euros, we might struggle to fill one at all.

AndStanwayDancing · 11/07/2022 21:08

No I didn't.

DuncinToffee · 11/07/2022 21:12

Very true AndStanway

DuncinToffee · 11/07/2022 21:17

@BellaAmorosa can you ask MN if they can move or merge this thread with Women's Euro 2022 board?

DuncinToffee · 11/07/2022 21:24

And that's 7 Football

Namechanger1002 · 11/07/2022 21:28

I am loving this tournament so far. My totally non sporty daughter knows everything there is to know about the England team (and most of the other teams!) it has totally captured her and is wonderful to see.
I think the women will bring it home before the men do 😂

AndStanwayDancing · 11/07/2022 21:28

They make it look easy, although I don't agree with Ian Wright, I don't enjoy a pasting.

That doesn't take away for how brilliant they have been.

Without a shadow of a doubt. I've been following the Lionesses across the world since 1996. I said it then. I stand by it now.

DuncinToffee · 11/07/2022 21:33

These pastings are becoming less common luckily but the gap between the teams is still too big.

Norway really didn't show up today.

DuncinToffee · 11/07/2022 21:38

Sarina Wiegman is a top coach.

AndStanwayDancing · 11/07/2022 21:38

1002 and that's what matters, you can love sport and not be sporty, it can still mean something and matter and still do you the world of good even if you don't play.

DuncinToffee · 11/07/2022 21:40

Beth Mead's hattrick makes 8

Queenoftheashes · 11/07/2022 21:43

The same number of goals as Norway’s world ranking 😂

Ian Wright's a legend. I absolutely agree with him. Norway did not show up tonight and got what they deserved.

#BeKind does not apply!

AndHatTrickMeadDancing · 11/07/2022 21:44

Does anyone else keep thinking Norway have a red card?

AndHatTrickMeadDancing · 11/07/2022 21:47

Sweet I feel it in all sports, would always rather watch a tight match. Pastings do no good for anyone (neither does #BeKind but that's for another board)

There'll be plenty of tight matches. We ain't gonna kick ass like this every game 😊

DuncinToffee · 11/07/2022 21:52

Ruthless Lionesses, what a match!

tobee · 11/07/2022 21:52

That was fun!

Sunshineandrainbow · 11/07/2022 21:53

Fantastic match.

peanutbutterkid · 11/07/2022 21:54

This (E v N) is painful to be honest, I was psyched for a close game. This isn't it. Bring on NL or Sweden.

99% of my interest comes because we slightly know one of the Lionesses (squee!). I swear she'll get a statue in her home town at this rate.

Kind of sad Norn hasn't done better. I see 20 July is probably next match I'll get into: Quarter-final 1: Winners Group A v Runners-up Group B (Spain or Germany) - kick off 8pm, Brighton and Hove Community Stadium

SpinningTheSeedsOfLove · 11/07/2022 21:55

Loving it all.

SweetSenorita · 11/07/2022 21:57

Classic quote from Beth Mead: "I keep saying it but I can't put it into words" 😍
