Anyone else excited about the women's euros? I'd love to follow the progress of the teams (especially England) with any football-supporting Mumsnetters. Thrilled that it's a home tournament, commiserations to Scotland and Wales for not making it through qualification. Huge congratulations to NI, qualifying for the very first time.

Doesn't have to be just match-related, either - comments on the background to each women's team (especially from non-British fans), and of course the kits all welcomed.

Good question re Olympics!

They don't have football in the commonwealth games am I right? Or the European Championship coming up in Munich.

Poor Switzerland, 9 players down with food poisoning.

Poor Switzerland, 9 players down with food poisoning.

Noooo awful!

DuncinToffee · 13/07/2022 17:11

No pen, right decision

DuncinToffee · 13/07/2022 17:49

Not very exciting this match, Switzerland defending very well.

DuncinToffee · 13/07/2022 18:12

That's a lot better Grin

DuncinToffee · 13/07/2022 19:58

Great goal from Hannah Bennison to seal the win for Sweden.

Hup Holland!

tobee · 13/07/2022 21:12

Fgs var! Still can't get used to it! Hate the way the celebration gets cut and that look was so slow! Close atm though!

DuncinToffee · 13/07/2022 21:22

No var needed for that one.

tobee · 13/07/2022 21:24

Yes but it still ruins the atmosphere. Like drs in cricket.

Anyway, I'm not very knowledgeable.

DuncinToffee · 13/07/2022 21:45

Oh var annoys me greatly, especially in the epl, but I think it has been ok this tournament. That offside decision took far too long though.

DuncinToffee · 13/07/2022 21:56

Phew, a win is a win.

mogtheexcellent · 15/07/2022 21:47

Antone watching tonights match? I wasnt expecting much maybe because in this situation the mens team would bemoving half heartedly around the pitch.

Sad for NI about the own goal. Ive been supporting both teams due to NI Ddad. Smile

AndHatTrickMeadDancing · 15/07/2022 21:54

As we had qualified the beach was calling so haven't watched the match tonight, will watch it when I get home.

Didn't know about the own goal, that is a shame.

DuncinToffee · 15/07/2022 21:57

Yes I watched it, another strong performance.

I really hope that NI can build on the back of this tournament. The game has moved on from part time players and it shows.

DuncinToffee · 15/07/2022 22:03

Austria through in second place.

blandnessneveroffends · 16/07/2022 15:59

Loved this match! England really outclassed NI though. Our defenders will need some more practise…!

DuncinToffee · 16/07/2022 18:20

Who will join Germany in qualifying for the next round, Spain or Denmark?

I think Spain

AndNobbyDancing · 16/07/2022 21:19

Yes looks like Spain, I'm switching between the two games but can't see Denmark winning

DuncinToffee · 16/07/2022 21:52

England v Spain it is then âš½

Queenoftheashes · 16/07/2022 22:44

Some extra trains at Kew bridge would have been nice

DuncinToffee · 16/07/2022 23:27

Did you go to the match? Atmosphere sounded great on tv.

Queenoftheashes · 16/07/2022 23:35

Yeah it was pretty fun but I was waiting a long time for a goal!

DuncinToffee · 16/07/2022 23:42

Haha indeed.

DuncinToffee · 17/07/2022 22:08

Sweden and Netherlands through to quarter finals.
I wasn't too impressed with Holland, especially the defence but luckily the subs made the difference.
