Mine was Prince Caspian.
And my most recent was the King of the Gyptians in The Dark Materials.
Show how I've changed. It used to be a boy King. Now it's a fatherly type.

Prince Caspian to! Then Francis Crawford of Lymond. [swoon face]

nkf · 24/01/2009 21:04

You mean I'm the only person to fall in love with characters.

emkana · 24/01/2009 21:04

nkf · 24/01/2009 21:05

Also Sam Vimes, with all his flaws. Great topic! Will shuffle off now......

nkf · 24/01/2009 21:10

Sam Vimes? Who he?

The insufferable Julian!

BetterBitOfButter · 24/01/2009 21:14

Julian lol

madamekoto · 24/01/2009 21:16

Sam Vimes, from the Terry Pratchett books. Wonderful, middle aged and much like my hubby.

GrimmaTheNome · 24/01/2009 21:17

Mr Rochester, of course.

GrimmaTheNome · 24/01/2009 21:18

Yeah, but surely Sam Vimes can't have been the first fictional love?

BetterBitOfButter · 24/01/2009 21:19

I think Mr Rochester was my second

Sniggerdoon · 24/01/2009 21:21

Gilbert Blythe, who else?

Leo9 · 24/01/2009 21:21

Patrick Pennington

I so so wanted to meet a boy like him but piano-virtuoso-mean-moody-but-gorgeous-and-sexy boys were thin on the ground round my way, for some reason

Second - fraid it was Mr Rochester as well

madamekoto · 24/01/2009 21:22

Got carried away. Not the first, maybe the deepest though.

nkf · 24/01/2009 21:23

I forgot Gilbert. I certainly had feelings for him.

OMG!!! Gilbert Blyth. Came straight into my head on reading the thread title, see others have beated my to it. I'm full of at this. Loved the guy who played him in the series.

Oh I don't know who was the first, but I scarcely read a book nowadays without falling in love with a character.

Mr Rochester was an attractive prospect but I didn't read JE until I was quite old so he couldn't have been the first.

Remotew · 24/01/2009 21:31

Oh!!! first love, also had a bit of a crush on Diana(correct me if I'm wrong, played by Jan Francis in the series) Annes friend, but didn't go down that path. Maybe there is time yet.

treacletart · 24/01/2009 21:32
