Mine was Prince Caspian.
And my most recent was the King of the Gyptians in The Dark Materials.
Show how I've changed. It used to be a boy King. Now it's a fatherly type.

Ledodgy · 24/01/2009 23:47

PMSL mine was Fred on scoobydoo too, I so wanted to be Daphne but fear I was more of a thelma!

Leo9 · 24/01/2009 23:48

oh, and Lord Wrotham!

i definitely went for the dramatic, tortured souls.....

mummy2benji · 24/01/2009 23:48

Ha! I love you all - I'm so glad I'm not the only one who falls in love with characters, hurrah I'm not pathetic after all... (cough)

You have another rival here for Prince Caspian.. fueled by the recent film..

Also Gilbert Blythe again.

Possibly Dick from the Famous 5 - not particluarly fanciable but less annoying than Julian, I always thought. Although in hindsight I prefer Timmy the dog.

Also Joe Morrelli from the Stephanie Plum series.

Aragorn when I first read Lord of the Rings, although Legolas from the films.. so fickle

Happy falling in love, girls!

It's been done before Kerry - to some of the characters on this thread, I think. I am convinced that Mr Rochester and Lord Peter Wimsey were objects of the authors' affections.

Ledodgy · 25/01/2009 00:01

I also fell in love with mr rochester but the one played by timothy dalton in the tv series not the book.

Joy27 · 25/01/2009 10:00

It's a close call between Laurie from Little Women (I also idolised Jo) and Gilbert Blythe (I didn't want to be Anne- she was always getting one-upped by her glamorous friend Diana).

When I got older, Lysander from The Man Who Made Husbands Jealous (Jilly Cooper)

For me it was Guy I was just trying to double check his surname when I saw this

"In fact we learn far more about Sebastian's feelings after we know that he has come to claim Veronica at the end of "Veronica at the Wells"
and now I've gone all wibbly.

all the hair on the back of neck neck has stood on end

bronze · 25/01/2009 11:38

The dark, brooding, passionate side of Heathcliffe is appealing but I changed my mind about him in the second half of the novel when he strangles his wife's dog.

I had an odd crush on Adrian Mole when I was a young teen.

oxocube · 25/01/2009 17:55

Ditto both Fred (ScoobyDoobyDooooooo) and when emotionally mature (!!!!!!!!!!), Heathcliff

PuppyMonkey · 25/01/2009 18:05

Mine was definitely Heathcliff

nkf · 25/01/2009 18:38

Heathcliff was way too rough for me.

newpup · 25/01/2009 18:59

nkf · 25/01/2009 19:01

Patrick Pennington for me too, followed by the hero of Flambards.

GrapefruitMoon · 25/01/2009 19:10

What LadyGlencora said! Was trying to remember the name of the book as I read the thread and there it was! I met someone recently whose husband is called Sebastian and I was a teeny bit jealous
