Just setting up a chat to firm up plans for a Southern meet up and a Northern meet up.

Lets see who is interested, then firm up locations and dates.

I know there are a few of us who want to come but might not be able to make it, so no judgement at all for those who decide nearer the time that they can’t make it. Hope to meet some of you this year!

I'm in the north west in the no man's land between Liverpool and Manchester.

Happy to travel to other northern locations.

Really enjoyed the London meet-up and was hoping there’d be another!

I’m also occasionally up North (Liverpool-ish) so that could work for me depending on dates, but London is my default.

Depending on timings I could be interested in either, preference for the northern one though. I'm in the NE but enjoyed my day trip to Manchester last year.

I came along to the London meet-up last May and really enjoyed it. It was such fun meeting everyone and it was very easy-going. I would go again, so long as I can get a reasonable flight that doesn't cost the earth either to London or Manchester.

I'm interested - enjoyed last year's in Manchester. North probably easier for me but wouldn't rule out south.

Those thinking northern - is there a suggested location?

I don’t mind organising / coordinating the Northern meet-up. Does anyone feel like they would like to organise the Southern meet-up as my London knowledge is about 25 years out of date!

Shall we see who wants to attend and then vote on the best location out of the main cities (Sheffield / Leeds / York / Liverpool / Manchester / Durham / Newcastle / Other) and dates.

If dates work then I will come to Southern meet up as enjoyed last year's.

I could probably do any of those cities, although Liverpool would be the most difficult. I can help with local knowledge if it's in York.

Thanks @MamaNewtNewt for the thread . I'm one for London, unlikely to go too far from home as tend to be quite busy at weekends.

I had a really lovely afternoon at last year's Manchester meet-up. North/Midlands is generally good for me. Depending on the dates I might also be able to get to a London meet-up.

North is closer for me but London might also be possible depending on dates. I managed both last year!
To anyone who fancies coming along but is feeling anxious or hesitant, just to say that it was very friendly and relaxed, as Fuzzy says. And it was really nice to put faces to names 😊

I don’t live in the UK any more but will be in North Wales for about 10 days in late September - so could do a Manchester (or Liverpool/Chester etc) meet up then.

Obviously that’s a pretty limited window so I’m not expecting you to work to that!

I’m also a social oddity but willing to meet if you’ll have me!

In my head, you are delightfully articulate company, very tall, in a long skirt and a floppy velvet hat. I have absolutely no idea why my head did that to you, but I hope you understand I mean it as a wonderful compliment, in a sort of Jenny Joseph 'I shall wear purple'-esque way.

I think before we meet up we should all say what we think other 50bookers will be like and see how wrong we are.

Or maybe not. You might all think I'm a twat and then realise it's true

I’m over in NI but would love a bookish meetup. Family in Skipton so Leeds would be good or Manchester where I could visit friends. Will keep an eye where you end up 😁
