It's the publishers who set the ebook price, and they would rather people continued to buy the physical book. If every author realises they can sell easily on ebook, then they won't really need publishers anymore!

Supply & demand: readers will pay it.

Couple of hundred pages in and enjoying it BUT am annoyed that Mount Street is described as being in Belgravia - it’s in Mayfair! Such a rookie error.

Also I worked for Harrods in my gap year and their security means that even if you go from the 5th floor to out on the ground floor in the most roundabout way, their cameras can keep you (with good and identifiable footage) in shot the entire way. No gaps.

I’ve just finished the (lengthy) kindle sample and ordered the hardback - though I won’t be able to give it any attention until the weekend.

This is my first Cormoran Strike volume. Just as with Slow Horses, I turned to the novel to fill in time until the next TV series, and have found it surprisingly absorbing.

Are some of you truly booking days off work to read it?

I'm finished! Immensely satisfying and I shall take my spoilers to the appropriate thread!

Maybe Mount St being called ‘Belgravia’ is like when people in Ladbroke Grove say they live in Holland Park? I guess if its at one end it is close to Belgravia…

Ok £30 lighter, about keeled over in the book shop. Looks like its half the price on amazon but I do love to support them. Caught in a storm on the way home but its so hefty its repelled water well!

Good review in the Guardian today. Has made me want to finish my current book quicker so I can crack on!

But with a spare and impatient moment yesterday I downloaded the sample of Running Grave - and now I’m a bit invested in that … 🤔😂

Yes, same. I really, really want to discuss parts of the story that I've read so far, but those would be spoilers for some people, and I don't want to go on the spoilers thread and see spoilers for parts of the story that I haven't read yet because I'm enjoying the pace at which it's unfolding.

I’m on the spoilers thread as finished on Friday. Don’t do it. We pretty much explicitly go through the whole ending to the crime and Robin and Strike

I'm exactly the same. I really want to discuss it so far with someone or complain about what's annoying me at the moment but I can't go on the spoiler thread.

I can't wait to go on there when I've finished and see what everyone else is saying.

I snapped and read the last chapter (a habit from childhood). Not saying nuffin’

I had an unexpectedly busy and tiring week so I’ve only read 17 chapters (of 127) but I’m very much enjoying the book so far.

Haven’t finished yet but will today I think - I do love how much Robin and Strike interaction there is. It’s just what I fancied. The Ink Black Heart was so little and I didn’t enjoy it anyway and the Running Grave was a great book and story but I wanted the two of them to have more to do with each other and this has hit the spot for me.

I’m on round two now. There’s so much going on I’m having to reread it to catch all the details. Im not liking strike so much in this one - he’s coming across as a bit of a d*ck with regards to Robin. Nah. We don’t really want the ‘mushy stuff’. A real Moonligjting moment!!

I'm having plausibility issues with the Robin/Strike stuff, and at the same time enjoying speculating on what's going to go wrong each time Strike gets a glint in his eye. My old brain is coping fine with the multiple strands of the investigation. I'll probably get to the end today.

I'm up to the epilogue and I'm going to need to listen to it all again because I got very confused over some of the characters.

I’ve missed the whole porn storyline. I definately can’t listen to books and keep up!

I wish there was a list of characters at the beginning.
