Well... I'd love to meet you all!

Anyone who thinks they might be interested in coming to meet and talk books, post here.

There are going to be lots of dates, ideas and places and i wonder if anyone would be willing to organise with me?? It would mean private messaging and perhaps moving to WhatsApp or email at some point. Maybe 3 of us?

Are we writing tags on our wrapped books? “To Book Lover, from Sheila” kinda thing?

@SheilaFentiman I don't think we need to write tags. I have vague feeling that there's a version of a secret Santa where you can either take the gift or pass it on. We might do that perhaps... I'm bit nervous that anything I bring will have been read by most 50 bookers!

Ok! I will wrap, no tag (my gift book is in my rucksack already and I know I will forget to wrap it if I don’t do it soon!)

That's what I was thinking of @PepeLePew but in fact having read that I don't think I want us to go that way ... informal swaps during/after would be fine though. Given that we're all new to each other I think that is too likely to cause upset!

Agree. I'm sure it will be civilised and that anyone getting something they've read before will have no issues swapping. I for one love a random book gift so will be delighted with anything!

There's a small festival local to me that my DS loves, so we're going to that unfortunately, even though in an ideal world I'd rather be meeting the 50 Bookers.

I'm still hoping to make the Manchester meet up!
