I've missed out on two now. I quite like the idea, anyone else?

I'm happy with a hardback. Right I'll send this fantasy book out. People please bear in mind it might not be everyone's cup of tea, I was sceptical when I originally read it, but it's somewhat addictive and as part of a large series it needs to be lol. The following books are more subtle too, incidentally If anyone does enjoy it, I can send out subsequent books

mehdismummy · 26/01/2008 21:52

is jackie collins chick lit?

spiderbabymum · 26/01/2008 21:55

OOOOOOoooo Can i be in too or am i too late ????

FlameNFurter · 26/01/2008 22:00

"wine, cheese, and bathwater marks"

FlameNFurter · 26/01/2008 22:01

psst - Luna... why do I recognise your full name/address?

CocoDeBearisCocoDeBear · 26/01/2008 22:20

DH suggests 'What's that Dear?', or 'Trying to Ignore the Kids'.

spiderbabymum, you are too late, sorry! How about I let you know if anyone drops out?

mehdismummy, hmm, I once read about five Jackie Collins novels in a row in the late 1980s/early 1990s. Is she still around?

OP posts:
mehdismummy · 26/01/2008 22:24

yes she is bless her! Is that chick lit.? Her and poor old jilly?

lunavix · 26/01/2008 22:31

flame - dunno lol! I know we've chatted before (I'm from Bmth!) but not sure it's anything that's involved full names/addresses lol

spiderbabymum · 26/01/2008 22:40

Thanks Coco. Yes Please !

rosmerta · 27/01/2008 09:18

Coco, I need your address!

FlameNFurter · 27/01/2008 11:57

How weird is that???

Psychomum5 · 27/01/2008 12:06

hey, quick question.

I have not received any emails regarding the book swap list etc.....

I know I am in theory not posting and just handing to flame, but what if for any reason I am to be in charge one month???? (say for instance, flame goes on hols or is away in london on the post day??).

Psychomum5 · 27/01/2008 12:08

ooooh, and flame......how you feeling????

FlameNFurter · 27/01/2008 12:26

that would be the email I promised coco I would forward to you!

Feeling better, still very achey but not as bad. Nothing spectacular emerging from my bum though (sorry for the far tmi everyone!)

Psychomum5 · 27/01/2008 12:36

nd you reckon I am the forgetful one!!!

CocoDeBearisCocoDeBear · 27/01/2008 16:17

Rosmerta, isn't my address at the top of the e-mail i sent out? .

mehdismummy, Jilly Cooper is definitely not allowed. Jackie Collins probably IS chick lit, but I'd be prepared to let her in on a technicality because she's so OTT and I am nostalgic for my late teens. Is that allowed?

psychomum, can you let everyone know your e-mail address once flame has finally got round to forwarding you my message .

OP posts:
rosmerta · 27/01/2008 16:28

I didn't get that email...

CocoDeBearisCocoDeBear · 27/01/2008 16:37

Have just sent it out to you. Oops. Sorry! Missed you off the end.

OP posts:
FlameNFurter · 27/01/2008 18:10

Has been sent :p

CocoDeBearisCocoDeBear · 27/01/2008 18:31

FlossieT's passed this useful info onto me:

If you dispense with the jiffy bag and post in a heavy envelope, unless you've picked a particularly thick book you can usually post it as a large letter rather than a parcel (much cheaper!).

OP posts:
FlameNFurter · 27/01/2008 18:40

Aren't most books normally more than 2.5cms?

they would be more protected in a jiffy bag too

CocoDeBearisCocoDeBear · 27/01/2008 20:38

That's true. Shall we stick to padded envelope/bubble wrap and brown paper to try and protect books as much as possible?

Still racking brains for good names for our book group...

OP posts:
FlameNFurter · 27/01/2008 21:11

Sounds good - i'm thinking by the time they have been through the system 12 times they will need all the help they can get!

I wonder how many times each jiffy bag can be reused

rosmerta · 28/01/2008 09:39

I will have to post mine out tomorrow. I've sent books before in a jiffy envelope & 1st class is usually around £1.50 for a standard paperback

mehdismummy · 28/01/2008 10:23

oh no coco wiped email by mistake. Can you send it again? Will post first class tomorrow. Sorry
