Korma....you daft woman! I've just been really busy with work, the kids etc etc. DD1 has been really poorly just lately and DD2 has just had her usual sick bug so its been a bit chaotic here! Email [email protected] - its time for us to get up to date! Hope you're ok...xx

I work from home Korma...have been doing this for almost a year - sometimes I have loads of work, other times I have nothing! I've got a mountain of work atm hence why I've not been around much. Sorry. I'll reply to your email as and when....I'll keep checking. Hope you're ok. xxxxx

FlossieT · 14/11/2008 00:06

rosmerta: I posted The Thirteenth Tale to you yesterday so hope you should get it before next week!

Am I getting the impression that this book circle might be winding down a bit next year...

Flamesparrow · 14/11/2008 08:06

i should think we'll probably just lose and gain members

whispywhisp · 14/11/2008 14:32

I hope this book circle doesn't come to an end next year (Jan)....whilst I know I've been a bit slow at sending books on the books I've had have been very interesting and very varied!

Flamesparrow · 14/11/2008 14:42

Nope, we'll just replace anyone who wants to leave, it'll be fiiiiiiiiiiiiine (says me who is now in 2 circles and a rl group )

Cocodrillo · 14/11/2008 16:16

A rl book club or a rl book swap Flame?

I'm still up for reading books next year, extra child or not. I need to read or I go a bit loopy.

Flamesparrow · 14/11/2008 16:23

rl book group

TheMadHouse · 14/11/2008 18:51

Me still up for it too. I got the bookks Whispy - thank you very much

swampster · 14/11/2008 22:01

Missing: did I post a book to you about a month ago? I can't remember what it was called but it was a weirdy SFantasy-type thing that I just couldn't get into . Was looking for it, can't find it and vaguely remember putting it in the post... My brain is so addled at the moment I really shouldn't be here!

rosmerta · 15/11/2008 18:02

Flossie, thanks, I got the book yesterday. Have started reading it already, am really enjoying it!

I'm planning on staying in the group, just might have to send some books on unread!

psychomum5 · 15/11/2008 18:04

I'm not stepping out of this group.....am looking forward to choosing next years book!

squilly · 15/11/2008 19:30

Sorry, I didn't send my book last week due to illness (just gastric flu, but has taken a while to get back on top). Will be sending to Dinny on Monday or Tuesday.

Hope you're enjoying Twilight Coco. I found it a bit flat meself...was a bit disappointed. Hope you enjoy it more.

Would like to stay in this year. I've been saving a few books specially....

FlossieT · 16/11/2008 00:37

rosmerta, unless I find that I've already read most of them I suspect it'll be me posting the books on unread since the blockage seems to be 'upstream' from me!

I'd def like to stay in this circle next year - it was fun to read some stuff I wouldn't have picked out for myself. And I already have a book in mind to share....

FlossieT · 16/11/2008 00:39

... and what I should have also said before I hit the 'submit' button:

Coco, will you still want to be the person in charge of the big stick though?

FlossieT · 16/11/2008 00:40

(I think you're very good at it, but it might be trickier with 3 DCs, esp. one very brand-new)

Flamesparrow · 16/11/2008 14:12

I'm happy to organise if you don't want to do it any more (I seem to be the one who has gone obsessive and hassles people )

cheesesarnie · 16/11/2008 14:15

can someone explain to me book swap circle thingy?i love reading-have lots of books, too many laying around, cant afford loads on new books.i mostly like chit lit though(although i did english a level so studied shakespeare etc)

Flamesparrow · 16/11/2008 14:20

It is a group of 12 MNers, we all pick a book and post it on to the next person in the list. Then, once a month or so (some get held up - often me ) we post the book on to our person.

It works out that there are 12 books going round, so at the end of a year we have all read 12 books we wouldn't have normally chosen. There are discussion threads too, but I don't think we have done much of the discussing for some reason

I think we banned Chick Lit, non-fiction and pre 20th century last time, but I would be happy to just ban chick lit this time (sorry).

At the moment we are trying to work out where the remaining books are.

New cycle due to start at the end of Jan, so I think it is a case of us working out who is planning on staying in, and then when we know how many slots we have free tracking down the people who have asked to join over the time.

There are loads of people wanting to join though and 3 circles going, so it could be worth starting a 4th?

cheesesarnie · 16/11/2008 14:24

ahh i see!thankyou

Flamesparrow · 16/11/2008 14:27

I've really enjoyed it - where I am so bloody stubborn I have forced myself to read every book, even if they were hard going, and two of them I really enjoyed after thinking it was going to feel like an "is that it?" kind of thing
