Don't post here if you don't want to know who dies and what happens.

You've been warned.

Dumbledoresgirl: If DD found a bathroom that he didn't know was there then thats probably all he thought it was. The room provides what you most want and DD obviously most wanted a bathroom at that point. He would have no reason to think it would be something else for someone else would he. Think that is quite a clever touch.

Just reread the bit were Fred dies (sniff) and it says how Harry looked at the gaping hole in the side of the building and a body fell past it. Reminded me a bit of the twin towers.

With the Hagrid thing. I never thought that the spiders were going to kill him. I actually assumed they were rescuing him, getting him away from danger because he was their friends although I know they were fighting for V. One of those mixed loyalties things.

BandofMuggles · 28/07/2007 11:00

Hmm, but they didn't let him near them once Aragog had died.
And I think DD had an inkling about the RoR when he couldn't find it again. DD knows everything that goes on in the castle remember

fawkeoff · 28/07/2007 13:06

i still thnik that v promised the spiders they could feed off the dead once the battle was over, and in return they brought hagrid to him..........i think hagrid was Vs bait to lure him to him iyswim

Hello. Just finished reading this thread. Loved reading everyone's thoughts. Just one to add myself. Isn't it Aberforth who comes to magic late in life?

Sooo looking forward to reading the whole series again now.

MrsWeasley · 30/07/2007 13:23

not sure. He was at hogwarts so must have been magical at 11

fawkeoff · 30/07/2007 13:26

MrsWeasley · 30/07/2007 13:29

(all this form a man whose fave book is Charlie and the choc factory

Notquitegrownup · 30/07/2007 13:31

Yes, I noticed that MW (glad to see that you are still around by the way. Thought I might have missed everyone!) but thought he must have renounced magic in disgust after Ariana's death before setting himself up as the bandaged barman.

MrsWeasley · 30/07/2007 14:05

Hi yeah I'm still hanging around the HP thread. (as its the summer holidays I can only jump on the computer if I manage to distract the kids with food first )

There is references to him preforming illegal charms on a goat so I think he was still using magic for his own beenfit

MrsWeasley · 30/07/2007 14:31

JKR just said in response to Who came into magic late in life? "I'm sorry about that, I changed my mind"

fawkeoff · 30/07/2007 14:47

does anyone else think that ginny is very much like harrys mum.......not just to look at but her manner as well........just from remembering when harry invaded snapes mind in the order of the phoenix and she stook up for him......i dont know im blabbering

tigerschick · 30/07/2007 14:54

Well - they say that men marry their mothers I couldn't be more different from my MIL tho!!

Went to see the film on Friday night, thought it was very good. Disappointed at a few bits that were left out, but on the whole, I thought it was a good effort. Only problem was, everytime Fred appeared I couldn't help thinking "You're going to die soon" but I couldn't say anything coz the 2 people I was with have yet to read the last book!!

LowFatPumpkinJuice · 30/07/2007 15:20

Wondering who they will get to play Bill in the next film - they can't leave him out any longer surely. The wedding and Bill and Fleurs cotttage are now pivotal to the final part of the story. But I guess Charlie will never get on the big screen.

AlbusPercivalWulfricBrianSun · 30/07/2007 16:22

I'm finding it really difficult not talking to DP about it as he wanted to read the book on holiday (we go on 11th Aug) but he's now realised it'll be impossible for him not to find out what happens before then so he's going to start it tonight. Just read it for the second time and still found it unbearably moving - when Harry goes into the forest I properly sobbed. One thing that spoilt it a little for me though is the kids cover - when Hermione was being totured by Bellatrix I knew she couldn't die as they hadn't been to Gringotts yet.

rosmerta · 30/07/2007 16:44

I wasn't thinking that logically when I read it Albus!

There were so many times on my first reading that I just burst into tears , and I called dh after finishing it, he noticed my voice was all trembly and just said I was very sad!

LowFatPumpkinJuice · 30/07/2007 16:58

I cried much more reading this one than any of the others. Fred was my biggest sob, and when he asked his parents, sirius and Lupin about dying.

I am going to start reading them all again from the begining

fawkeoff · 30/07/2007 17:59

freds was so ruthless i think, harry walking through and him being dead there like that was so emotionally brutal

MrsWeasley · 30/07/2007 19:02

I really cried at Dobby and when Harry asks his mum to stay close

tigerschick · 30/07/2007 19:05

You and me both MrsW. Also, for some reason, I found myself sobbing when Moody died. I think that it was more in trepedation that, if she had killed someone off so early, what else was going to happen?!?!
The bit when H is digging Dobby's grave and when they put clothes on him before they bury him ... I'm filling up now, just thinking about it

MrsWeasley · 30/07/2007 19:08

I didnt beleive Mad eye was dead (party because they never found a body)and convinced myself that his eye in umbridges door was a different eye. Only on re-reading did I accept he was gone

rosmerta · 30/07/2007 19:13

I sobbed loads when Dobby died (here lies a free elf, wail) and then pretty much non stop from Fred through to the end. I could barely read it but didn't want to stop!

persephonesnape · 30/07/2007 23:11

heres the JKR webchat transcript everyone www.mugglenet.com/app/news/full_story/1156

and happy birthday Neville!

(
yes it took me ages too. my eyes are itchy)

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 31/07/2007 00:19

So the sword that Neville had.... did it just have to be Goblin-made to finish a horcrux - after all he took Nagini's head off with it or did I somehow miss Griphook turning up with Godric Gryffindor sword? (unlikely).

I've just started 2nd reading but I'm not getting much time with it being the holidays. Bet I still cry at Dobby & Harry walking to his death. I still cringe & laugh at Harry's embarrassment at the other 6 Potter's all stripping off in the kitchen!
