Is anyone else getting really excited (borderline obsessed)about he new HP book?
I have re-read all the other 6 and everytime I scan down active convos and see "Potty" I heart skips a beat or I hold my breath whilst my eyes focus!!

Please tell me it isn't only me and my DC that are counting the days (hours, minutes, seconds...)

don't worry BoM, that's why I didn't say anything! Tbh, it's nothing definite anyway. And I definitely don't want to know what's going to happen.

DumbledoresGirl · 10/05/2007 20:14

It was common knowledge that Bk 7 was going to reveal something significant about Lily, so why not that she slept with Snape? I think that is why Snape hates Harry - because he idolises James and Snape knows it should be him (as his father) he idolises.

DrDaddy · 10/05/2007 20:14

No, I'm sure she's pure as the driven.....

BandofMothers · 10/05/2007 20:14

Oh, if it's only conjecture then go ahead.

I think Stan Shunpike's the father!

Sorry...being silly now.

BandofMothers · 10/05/2007 20:16

Hmm, DG, I'm not convinced that would make him hate harry, but it does suggest why he felt the need to remove memories before the Occlumency lessons.

pudding77 · 10/05/2007 20:20

I think Snape just had a horrid childhood & didn't want Harry to know that, didn't want his pity iyswim.

I wish I hadn't said anything now! But a friend of mine interviewed her and asked her about some of the theories flying around, which she answered.

BandofMothers · 10/05/2007 20:21

How come it's not in magazines and papers then, or is it??

persephonesnape · 10/05/2007 20:23

Dumbeldores girl - i know! i saw that thread and thought, 'yes! that's exactly what I've always thought!

i don't think Lily was a tart, bless her - i think she made the best of a bad situation, took the pity towards Severus maybe a tad too far.

she always struck me as marrying beneath her a little. Snape was more her intellectual equal, James just mucked around a lot ) Hermione and Ron (sorry, Mrs W, your boy is brave and delightful, and of course those are wonderful attributes in a son, but i think 'Mione would get frustrated by him)

Neville - yes, i want it to be all about him - and i want his parents to come out of the cruciatus, because everyone deserves a mum and a dad. more tha anyone else, i want a happy ending for neville.

I am not a big reader of the hype surrounding JKR and HP, but it is available to read if you want to. Go to any JKR or HP site and I think you will find stuff. That is how I know that book 7 contains a revelation about Lily and contains no new significant characters (and also how I know Dumbledore is dead - sob - although I too think he will continue to play a part through his protrait).

persephonesnape · 10/05/2007 20:26

sorry, meant to say ( i am sidetracked by bedtime for small snapes here) is that there are parallels between 'mione and Ron and Severus and Lily.

I believe there will be alot more flashbacky stuff in book seven. the relationship between harrys parents will be laid a bit barer.

DrDaddy · 10/05/2007 20:26

And remember James was a pure blood wizard, but Lily and Snape are both mixed... And Snape was obviously proud of his parentage, hence: Half-Blood Prince.

MrsWho · 10/05/2007 20:29

Think there was 6 horcruxes as V was trying to make the last one when Harry stopped him.
1 in himself + 5 to find(Locket?/cup/diary/ring+1 more )

Though its a long time since I read any and could be mixing it up with fanfiction )

pudding - was your friend sworn to secrecy about some of the interview or is it all in the public domain? If the former, don't spill - we don't want another Gina Ford situation!!!

persephonesnape · 10/05/2007 20:31

i think snape bought into that full blood thing and hid his parentage, which is why he was beastly to Lily (mudblood!) and sucked up to Lucius etc - they didn't like him because of his parentage so despite himself, he was drawn to Lily - even though he thought it was 'wrong', he saw something of himself in her.

off to write my thesis!

BandofMothers · 10/05/2007 20:44

No that would make him HP's uncle and old curtain twitcher would know about it too. AS he would be her brother too.

pudding77 · 10/05/2007 20:49

They might not have know they had a brother? Though that is getting a bit Star Wars-ish...

LazyLine · 10/05/2007 20:52

LOL at the "Krum pork sword"!!

I think that the predictable will occur.

Harry will not die.
Harry and Ginny will end up together, as will Ron and Hermione. (barf)
I am hoping Ron might die though.

MrsWeasley · 10/05/2007 20:53

I agree that Hermione would be driven mad by Ron (bless his cotton....) can you imagine all the "oh Ronald" thats she would be saying LOL

The mirror that Sirius gave Harry does play a part in the next bk.

It is possible to dislike someone (or pretend to) and then fall for them you know (like Lily an James)

Not sure how I feel about Ron & Hermione being together, think they would wind each other up too much! Sorry Mrs W, but at least you might get Harry as a sil!

Right, have to go as dh is now complaining I'm being too much of a nerd!
