Is anyone else getting really excited (borderline obsessed)about he new HP book?
I have re-read all the other 6 and everytime I scan down active convos and see "Potty" I heart skips a beat or I hold my breath whilst my eyes focus!!

Please tell me it isn't only me and my DC that are counting the days (hours, minutes, seconds...)

Am looking forward to the last book much more than the film. Altho I like the films, compared to the books they are only ok.

CAN'T WAIT FOR THE BOOK THO.

MrsWeasley · 09/05/2007 18:08

OOOoh me too, me too! Already got tickets booked to see order of the phoenix although films aren't a patch on the books. I've just re-read 5 and 6 in preparation for deathly hallows. Think for the first time I may be there at midnight, I am soooooooooo excited! Oh and I cried too

Harry Potter Rules and JK Rowling is a blardy genius.

DANCESwithaFewExtraPounds · 09/05/2007 18:23

Am tempted by audio now too...when will I get a chance to listen to them though

kimi · 09/05/2007 18:26

Going to re read the last book to the kids getting ready for the new one.

MrsWeasley · 09/05/2007 18:40

Agree with your every word DANCESwithaFewExtraPounds.

I am soooooo excited but cant stand the thought that this will be the last book. NNNNOOOOOOOOOO.

doobypoo · 09/05/2007 18:51

DimpledThighs · 09/05/2007 19:35

MrsWho - get to the library adn borrow the audio books on CD.

I am reading them to DS in anticpation - we started in Jan and are half way through OotP.

Blardy long chapters though - 45mins some nights and if I go out and miss a night it is an hour and a half reading the next night!

BandofMothers · 09/05/2007 19:38

Do you think Rowling will write anything new after HP, or quit while she's ahead, and filthy rich???

MrsWeasley · 09/05/2007 19:39

"I think he will die"

NOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

DANCESwithaFewExtraPounds · 09/05/2007 19:51

and me NOT going to happen. Honestly don't believe that is how the series will end. Good will triumph.

MrsWho · 09/05/2007 20:06

Wonder if I can get them in time for our holiday?

doobypoo · 09/05/2007 20:09

I really hope i am wrong.JK said she does not want anyone to be able to sort of continue the books after this one and i don't think she will pull any punches.I cried lots in the last book.I have my own time turner and a wand[so does ds]and i have hp's autograph and snapes, mcgonagalls and hagrids...i am very sad i know. But this thread is great and means i don't bore dp

GColdtimer · 09/05/2007 20:12

I have just read them ALL and am now feeling bereft.

And littlelapin, I know we haven't officially met but I have to say I love the way you seem to have a link for everything.

DANCESwithaFewExtraPounds · 09/05/2007 20:18

Yes but if Harry defeats Voldemort then the underlying theme of the the whole series is gone (good v. evil...Voldemort trying to defeat/kill Harry) so it would be hard to continue don't you think?

GColdtimer · 09/05/2007 20:20

She just wouldn't dare... Would she?

doobypoo · 09/05/2007 20:24

I sort of agree dances but people could write about his adulthood and children etc and there will always be bad witches and wizards you know.I don't know if anyone could legally write a spin off anyway..i hope not.But i do feel anxious about this last book and can't wait for the film. There is so much in the order of the phoenix that is fab i hope they stick to the story and if they can't fit all the info in thats fine but i hope they don't put bits in that aren't in the book like thay have done with other films....as you can tell i am a pureist

doobypoo · 09/05/2007 20:25

eel sorry re spelling haven't got my 'spell checker'and have a 5 week old baby

DrDaddy · 09/05/2007 20:27

I reckon she might write some spin-offs about some of the side stories... Sirius Black: One Day in Azkabhan (with apologies to Solzhenitsyn) or Phineas Nigellus: The Dark Headmaster, for example. Any more suggestions?

MrsWho · 09/05/2007 20:43

dooby-there are some bits on the trailer that aren't in the book

Sunyshineymummy · 09/05/2007 20:46

Love the parsletongue DD.

BTTW on a related (ish) topic, does anyone else love Garth Nix Abhorsen series?

MrsWeasley · 09/05/2007 20:53

doobypoo: you have autographs - COOL
Did you get them personally or did you buy them (type of thing) ?

I know of an autograph aution where a little phone of Hagrid is currently going for £40. I am soooooo tempted to bid (dh thinks I'm mad) (Fang is in the photo too

I think there could be a whole new series of stories: Voldemort could produce an offspring and Harry and Ginny could have a baby and then who knows.....

OP posts:
DrDaddy · 09/05/2007 20:54

SSM - don't know that series....Will look it up
Btw - on HP predictions, I think there must be something related to the Phoenix in the last book. Of course there's the Order. HP's close relationship to Faulks. The Phoenix tail feather in his and You Know Who's wands....
Or am I just clutching at straws / feathers?

DrDaddy · 09/05/2007 20:55

MrsWeasley - would that make you happy? Ginny's your little 'un after all!
