Is anyone else getting really excited (borderline obsessed)about he new HP book?
I have re-read all the other 6 and everytime I scan down active convos and see "Potty" I heart skips a beat or I hold my breath whilst my eyes focus!!

Please tell me it isn't only me and my DC that are counting the days (hours, minutes, seconds...)

Isn't billy connelly nearly headless nick?

becklespeckledfrog · 18/06/2007 14:05

Thought John Cleese was Nearly Headless Nick?
Wizards can do magic from a very young age, in the campsite at the Quidditch World Cup there were kids as young as 2 and 3 trying to blast slugs and playing on toy broomsticks!

becklespeckledfrog · 18/06/2007 14:05

Perhaps they are home tutored???

pudding77 · 18/06/2007 14:09

John Cleese is Nearly Headless Nick but wasn't Billy Connolly going to be Peeves before they decided to cut that part?

BandofMothers · 18/06/2007 14:27

As I was reading GoF and Barty Jr was saying that Winky bound him to her with her own brand of magic so he wouldn't join the Death Eaters at the World Cup, and that is why she was walking thru the forest in a strange way when the 3 saw her. I was wondering if Dobby could bind Harry to him and then Harry could go thru the veil and rescue Sirius and then Dobby could bring them back out.

Then I thought that was probably a bit far fetched

BandofMothers · 18/06/2007 14:32

Love Billy for Scrimgoer tho

BandofMothers · 18/06/2007 14:33

He was after all the only Scot not cast in Braveheart, he will be even more miffed if he's the only uker not cast in HP.

Sunshinemummy · 18/06/2007 15:41

BSF Ron's birthday is on 1st March. Just got to bit in HBP where they mention it. Can't believe how much I've forgotten - each new bit I get to I think 'oh yes of course that happened'.

becklespeckledfrog · 18/06/2007 15:54

Not sure that Billy Connelly would be serious enough for Scrimgeour. Then again not sure who could play him - Jeremy Irons? Hmm...

Nice theory BOM, not sure whether Harry going through the veil would break the bond? Definitely think that Dobby will be important in the next book though as he does keep popping up and being useful to Harry.

I am sooo looking forward to the new book but also am going to miss theorising on what may or may not be going to happen!

BandofMothers · 18/06/2007 15:58

I thought Jeremy Irons should be Snapew, much meaner than Rickman, and he did it for Comic Relief and was fantastic.
Billy was serious in Mrs Brown, he would be great.

BandofMothers · 18/06/2007 15:59

I know, we'll have to start a new thread to discuss what we think she should have done.
And what we liked and disliked.

skay · 18/06/2007 16:19

Sorry about this....

But for those of us who are not as potty as others....
What's a Wombat???

BandofMothers · 18/06/2007 16:20

don't know. What is the door everyone's on about???

Steward · 18/06/2007 16:30

Wombat is a test you can do on JK Rowlings Official Web site.

Sunshinemummy · 18/06/2007 16:42

I'm not sure about Billy either. Scrimgeor looks like a lion and is quite stocky - maybe Ray Winston?

BandofMothers · 18/06/2007 16:46

Ooh good sunshine. He'd be cool.

Is there a link somewhere, what is it a quiz about how much you know about HP??

pudding77 · 18/06/2007 16:54

Its something to do on JKR's site (Wizarding owls something something apparition test?) but the door to it is only open some of the time and its now closed again. If you go onto the site & click on the eraser you'll see what I mean. I only just found it today & was too late [hmmph]

pudding77 · 18/06/2007 16:58

Wizards ordinary magic and basic aptitude test - well two out of seven isn't bad!

Have a look round the site, there's some really good stuff on characters she tried to introduce and how she tried to do different storylines etc. Apparently there's a whole background story on Dean Thomas which she's tried to include twice but never works.

becklespeckledfrog · 18/06/2007 17:01

Hmm, Jeremy Irons probably would be good as Snape but I love Alan Rickman. I think Alan Rickman manages to portray the vulnerability/insecurity of Snape quite well and is very believable either as a goodie or a baddie!

BandofMothers · 18/06/2007 17:15

Oooh that sounds good can someone link it please[lazy emoticon]

BandofMothers · 18/06/2007 17:18

Here's a link to the new game for OOTP.

If anyone's interested.

pudding77 · 18/06/2007 17:18

sigh

pudding77 · 18/06/2007 17:19

Are the games good? I've got a ds (that's as in Nintendo, not announcing I've got a boy!) and was wondering about getting them. Or are they more for kids than adults ?

pudding77 · 18/06/2007 17:21

join Dumbledore's Army

BandofMothers · 18/06/2007 17:22

If you click onto the HP symbol on the right half way up the page there is a new trailer for the film.
