Is anyone else getting really excited (borderline obsessed)about he new HP book?
I have re-read all the other 6 and everytime I scan down active convos and see "Potty" I heart skips a beat or I hold my breath whilst my eyes focus!!

Please tell me it isn't only me and my DC that are counting the days (hours, minutes, seconds...)

It mentions in OOTP that Bill is trying to persuade the chief goblin to be on the good side.

MrsWho · 16/06/2007 14:44

I have been to the library this am and while dd1 was in her reading group dd2 and I were looking at the CDs and the story ones are free to borrow, so we got HBP and I am up to Kreacher i the Dursleys house now

Sunshinemummy · 16/06/2007 14:45

I think it must be important that Kreacher belongs to Harry.

pudding77 · 16/06/2007 19:57

agree with you sunshine, because Harry can make Kreacher do things for him now as well so essentially can force him to do things for the good side.

I read your post about crying at work, I read Sirius's death first time around when I was on the tube to work one day, and a woman leant over, gave me a tissue & said 'I guess you've just read about Sirius'. I was a bit but thought it was v sweet of her

pudding77 · 16/06/2007 20:06

I've decided, dh is out for the evening, I've ordered a chinese & I'm going to go watch the first two films!

MrsWho · 16/06/2007 20:37

LOL pudding! (sorry )

pudding77 · 16/06/2007 21:29

that's ok MrsWho, you laugh away!

tigerschick · 16/06/2007 21:36

You enjoy pudding

tigerschick · 16/06/2007 21:37

Sorry, should be a ',' between 'enjoy' and 'pudding'.

pudding77 · 16/06/2007 21:45

Hi tigerschick, I think the only pendants on here are us HP obsessives!

pudding77 · 16/06/2007 21:47

And obviously that should be pedants not pendants, I'm sure there aren't any necklaces hanging around

That glass of wine has done its trick!

I'm watching the first film and about to cry as Harry's just seen his family for the first time in the mirror

tigerschick · 16/06/2007 21:49

Sooo moving. Not got PoA on dvd but must get it so I can force dh to have a HP film night/weekend. Hope you enjoy. Got tissues?

pudding77 · 16/06/2007 21:53

Well, a toilet roll , I don't have PoA either but I did notice today it was on sale in WHSMith for about a fiver

MrsWeasley · 17/06/2007 00:06

A couple of things have occurred to me though. In the first book, its said that drinking unicorn blood will leave the drinker with a cursed half-life, so surely Voldie is now cursed because he was drinking the unicorn blood?

Also, throughout the books DD [sob] has been continually saying that love is the most ancient magic of all and one that Voldie can't understand, so perhaps its all going to wrap up around that somehow?

juicychops · 17/06/2007 13:56

But it was professor quirell drinking the unicorn blood so it would be him that has a cursed half life

just re-read books 1-3 in 11 days! very proud of myself. day 12: started book 4 this morning. i forgot how brill they are. i cant put them down!

pudding77 · 17/06/2007 13:58

Well that's what I thought at first, but he was drinking it for V so V could stay alive so surely it would be V actually taking the blood?

pudding77 · 17/06/2007 13:59

Or perhaps I'm overthinking it too much & it doesn't really matter one way or another as it won't actually feature in the last book?

so yeah, pudding, stop thinking so much!

juicychops · 17/06/2007 14:04

in the book voldermort says quirell was drinking it for him. but agree with themildmanneredjanitor, think he's about as cursed as he could be without the unicorn blood coming into it

mrsharrypotter · 17/06/2007 15:36

Kate, I love your dh's theory about kreacher, very good.

I didn't enjoy OOTP as much as the others because of stupid Umbridge too, I got so angry with her that I've only read it twice, although I've gearly finished DOF so will be on it again soon.

Eileen Prince is Snapes mum, Tobias Snape(muggle) his dad , I remember that much, and she handed the book to Snape when he started school. I beleive they were quite a poor family with a grim childhood.

I agree taht HWMNBN is about as cursed as they can get, withor without unicorn blood
