Is anyone else getting really excited (borderline obsessed)about he new HP book?
I have re-read all the other 6 and everytime I scan down active convos and see "Potty" I heart skips a beat or I hold my breath whilst my eyes focus!!

Please tell me it isn't only me and my DC that are counting the days (hours, minutes, seconds...)

I read before about Nevilles parents.

What about Kreacher?

pudding77 · 10/06/2007 22:19

That's all I've read so far, I don't know about Kreacher, again you'd have thought he's a big part of the story but there isn't anyone listed on the credits. & they didn't use the house elves in the last film either...

mrsharrypotter · 10/06/2007 22:50

Ohmygod! I can't believe I've missed this thread for so long. I'm on my 2nd pre book 7 release read through and I'm on GOF.
I had noticed that Lilly and James died on Halloween and was shocked that Harry enjoyed his 1st one at Hogwarts so much having only just learnt that it was the aniversary of his parents death.
Lilibet I also don't think Harry is a horcrux.
BSF, I love your ending, very dramatic!
I think HWMNBN will die, obviously, as it's a childrens book so they won't let evil triumph. I'm undecided on Harry, some of the time I think he'll live happily ever after, at other times I think he'll die protecting the greater good. I cried out 'NO!' when DD died, dh looked at me like I'd lost it. I'm not really all that excited about the film release because although they are good, they are nothing compared to the books.

MrsWeasley · 10/06/2007 23:05

I dont think the house elf will feature. They were an important part of GOF book but they decided not to put them in the film! It will be interesting to see how book 7 pans out as I think that Dobby will feature quite a bit.

In a way I am glad that the Longbottoms arent in it I'm not sure I could cope emotionally with that and "the" death. I know I'll cry I have read it so many times and cried each time.

Sad about Rons quidditch I recently read that he enjoyed doing those scenes so its a bit sad that its been cut.

Just starting book 6. Had to hide on tube this morning as started crying when Mrs Weasley gave Harry the big hug. Have conjunctivitis as well so other passengers must have thought I was crackers.

MrsWeasley · 11/06/2007 12:40

Hello all - have Boroadband at home at last! Thinking about House Elves - Dumbledore talks at the end of GOF about all creatures needing to come together to defeat Dumbledore - and there's stuff in OOTP about Goblins wanting their freedom - so why not HEs getting more involved and getting greater freedom as per SPEW?

Annie do you have any friends to come and work for me? Any that can make a good chocolate cake? Will need someone to help me when I get baby Lupins!

Nymphadora · 11/06/2007 20:16

just read the previous posts!

I will of course give your friends days off and pay them!

mrsharrypotter · 11/06/2007 22:23

I'd like a house elf too if there are any going. I'm very kind and not at all Malfoyish. Kreacher is a pain with all of his rambling about the dark lord etc so a house elf on the side of good would probably fit in better. I'm willing to swap with any death eaters who find their house elf too 'Dobbyish'.

becklespeckledfrog · 12/06/2007 09:46

I think Kreacher is hilarious with his mutterings! (only realised the other day that the name Kreacher is Creature . Think that shows how little the Blacks thought of their house elves)

pudding77 · 12/06/2007 12:25

Sorry everyone, I'm first in line for a reliable house elf, though I do believe Winky is available!

oooh Becky, I never twigged that about Kreacher

becklespeckledfrog · 12/06/2007 15:57

I only realised the other day pudding - I've read the book a few times too !

MrsWeasley · 12/06/2007 16:04

LOL

MrsWeasley · 12/06/2007 16:10

sorry am still LOL whilst wondering what you thought he was called

OP posts:
becklespeckledfrog · 12/06/2007 16:19

hehe! Knew he was called Kreacher obviously. Just didn't realise it was the same as Creature (if that makes sense)!

becklespeckledfrog · 12/06/2007 16:20
Grin
Blandmum · 12/06/2007 16:21

I've not long realised that Sirius is the other name for the Dog Star.

Duuurrr on my point when the penny dropped.

MrsWeasley · 12/06/2007 17:10

I love it when your re-read things and think "oh yeah, of course, Why didnt I see that before" it makes each re-read as exciting as the first imo.

Still dragging my heels regarding getting to "the" death in Bk5. I even did the ironing last night to delay it.
