Is anyone else getting really excited (borderline obsessed)about he new HP book?
I have re-read all the other 6 and everytime I scan down active convos and see "Potty" I heart skips a beat or I hold my breath whilst my eyes focus!!

Please tell me it isn't only me and my DC that are counting the days (hours, minutes, seconds...)

There is going to be Harry Potter theme park!!!!!!!!!!!Opening in 2009 in Orlando. They are spending 1billion quid on it.I saw some pics it is gonna be FAB.I love this thread.Haven't been on computer for ages as i have a 9 wek old and a 7 year old.Ds1 and i are going to a Harry Potter party on the eve of the books release. We get a copy of the book at midnight.I suggest reading it fast in case we here abiut it second hand and then read it again slowly. We each have a time turner and a wand.I can't wait.

doobypoo · 08/06/2007 21:33

Just read my post.I sound like i am about 8!

pudding77 · 08/06/2007 21:42

hi doobypoo, we've all had posts where we sound like we're 8

Is there anyone on this thread who's going to see the film in London? Pretty please? Desperately trying to find someone to go with

MrsWeasley · 08/06/2007 22:25

Doobypoo: your party sounds great. We are having owls are ours and magic and I cant wait.

Have read about the theme park and agree it sounds great, I am saving already

The kids news paper(first news) is asking why we cant have one in the uk as Harry is English. Could you imagine that !?!?! I would have to work there. (or live next door) I'd be like a stowaway living in the forest and coming out to play when everyone went home.

Spoke to chap in the book shop who only started working there to be part of the Harry Potter launch party!

Pudding: I really feel for you. Cant your bargain with friends or DH: you will see something they like if they will see HP with you. If I am up in london anytime this summer I will defo let you know. I would be tempted to just go alone (say your checking it out for the friends kid if need be)

I agree with that childrens paper.
It should be in Britain.I don't really want to go to America for that.I want real british accents etc.
Can you imagine the fake Bert from Mary Poppins accents lol
How awful will that be.
My son wants it here as well as he looks a lot like Daniel Radcliffe and he'd love to be HP in something like that.
The americans already have Disney etc. Why can't we have what belongs here!!!!

MrsWeasley · 09/06/2007 14:58

Finished book 5 last night, found myself reading it slower & slower to delay Sirius dying . No doubt I'll do the same with book 6!

pudding77 · 10/06/2007 11:01

damn, I was going to change my nickname to a HP-type one but nymphadora's taken .

MrsWeasley · 10/06/2007 11:38

I did that too with book 5 a few weeks ago and am re-reading it again atm and have noticed that I am not as keen to read the next few chapters as I was with reading all the rest. I know I will cry again!

Nymphadora · 10/06/2007 19:49

Sorry Pudding

pudding77 · 10/06/2007 19:56

oh I guess I can forgive you

Btw, does anyone want to know what I've found out about the film, to do with bits of the story they've cut? Or shall I keep it to myself?

Nymphadora · 10/06/2007 20:15

go on, I have read some but share

pudding77 · 10/06/2007 21:04

ok, SPOILERS FOR FILM:

  • they've cut Ron's Quidditch moments
  • also cut Neville's parents storyline which you would've thought was quite important!
