Is anyone else getting really excited (borderline obsessed)about he new HP book?
I have re-read all the other 6 and everytime I scan down active convos and see "Potty" I heart skips a beat or I hold my breath whilst my eyes focus!!

Please tell me it isn't only me and my DC that are counting the days (hours, minutes, seconds...)

juicychops · 06/06/2007 12:39

meant to say re-read them

Songbird · 06/06/2007 13:06

juicy, I'm just the same. I recently re-read them all purposefully looking for clues and things I'd missed or forgotten that may pertain to book 7. I kept forgetting to take it slowly and concentrate, as I'm always wanting to find out what happens, even after reading them all several times!

pudding77 · 06/06/2007 13:18

I've had to put OotP on hold as I realised I have my book group meeting next week & haven't even started that book yet

Songbird · 06/06/2007 13:34

oops, what's the book?

Songbird · 06/06/2007 13:35

someone here might have read it and can give you a run down - ha ha! You might not have to abandon HP yet!

pudding77 · 06/06/2007 13:36

Half a yellow sun, its based in the Nigerian civil war.

pudding77 · 06/06/2007 13:36

Anyone know it?

Songbird · 06/06/2007 13:36

Will you all think I'm terrible if I admit that in our house Harry is known as Hazza? Full name Hazza Pozza!

Sacrilege

Songbird · 06/06/2007 13:39

Oh good lord, that sounds a bit high-brow for me! I used to read intelligent thought provoking books and now I can usually only manage childrens books like hazza (feck it, we're friends now!) and Garth Nix. That or Jilly Cooper . If I try to read anything that requires brains I really struggle.

I blame dd!

pudding77 · 06/06/2007 13:44

Believe me songbird, I'm struggling as well! I've barely got past the first chapter in 2 days & I've read 4 HP books in 2 weeks! I'll see how I get on but I might have to admit that I couldn't finish it!

Hmm, Hazza eh? You never know it might catch on!

Songbird · 06/06/2007 13:46

I'd tell them that you thought the first chapter was absolutely pivotal, and really, there's no point in discussing the rest of the book, fabulous as it was...

MrsWeasley · 06/06/2007 14:56

I have re-read all the books again and now I am listening to them on cd to listen out for any clues I've missed Stephen Fry reads them very well IMO

Hazza better than Scar face

Hello MrsWeasley, I am your house elf, your coffee and biscuits are ready. Chocolate hobgoblins.

Sunshinemummy · 06/06/2007 15:31

Ooh Songbird I love Garth Nix as well.

MrsWeasley · 06/06/2007 15:48

Thank you kind elf. please have one (or two) yourself and take the rest of the day off.

AnnieAlcoholLeft · 06/06/2007 15:54

Oh Thank you MrsWeasley You are the finest Mistress a house elf could have.

kate100 · 06/06/2007 18:23

I'm onto the Goblet of Fire, I'm not getting through them as quickly as the rest of you, but I go on holiday soon, so I'm sure I'll get through them then. I keep trying to look for clues in the stories, but I'm just not getting anymore. I'm feeling a bit thick

pudding77 · 06/06/2007 19:40

Don't worry Kate, I read them far too quickly to pick up any clues, I'm making it up as I go along

DrDaddy · 06/06/2007 19:51

Poor old Daniel Radcliffe is taking a bit of a battering over his smoking antics on the stage play of Equus....I guess the critics have a point, I mean our DC all look up to him as HP don't they?

seamonster · 06/06/2007 19:54

He's an ACTOR.
And why aren't they more concerned that our children may now start fondling horses?

DrDaddy · 06/06/2007 19:58

Yes, I agree. Storm in a teacup. But everything is anti-smoking now isn't it? Yes, I would have thought bearing his todge on stage and losing his virginity (in the play) was probably more cause for the curtain twitchers to be in uproar

Songbird · 07/06/2007 08:44

Are actors allowed to smoke on stage now? Or do they use pretend ciggies?

BandofMothers · 07/06/2007 09:43

Do you think Harry will kill V with Godric Gryffindor's sword???
It seems to be imp that he pulled it out the sorting hat and V never got his hands on it to use it as a Horcrux.
After rereading CoS, I am now on PoA, I was struck by what DD said about V putting some of himself into Harry when he couldn't kill him and am wondering whether this Harry himself being a Horcrux thing might actually turn out to be the case. DD actually says it at the end of CoS. Interesting..................

MrsWeasley · 07/06/2007 09:54

I am living in the beleive that Harry will kill V and will run off into the sunset and lead a long and happy life. (and JK Rowling decides to write all about it after she has had a little break ) I cant face thinking harry will die, I would be heartbroken! Good must win

Think it will happen in a truely unique way not with sword.

Has faulkes died now that DD has or has he flown away to live elsewhere? If he is alive he could play an important role in saving Harry. (I like faulkes)

Cant wait: books are reserved, Film tickets booked I am so excited

OP posts:
seamonster · 07/06/2007 10:04

He's flown away somewhere, and I'm sure I've read that Harry is not a Horcrux (a quote of JK herself).
