Is anyone else getting really excited (borderline obsessed)about he new HP book?
I have re-read all the other 6 and everytime I scan down active convos and see "Potty" I heart skips a beat or I hold my breath whilst my eyes focus!!

Please tell me it isn't only me and my DC that are counting the days (hours, minutes, seconds...)

Annie House Elf:

A muggle friend just brought around a nice fruit cake. Please could you pop the kettle on?
Thank you so much, have a slice of cake yourself.

I reserved my book ages ago

Maybe they will miraculously get around it and he wwont have to die
They have a knack of doing that. Think there would be some uproar if she killed him off. also don't think that would stop her tho.

Sunshinemummy · 07/06/2007 10:07

I'd forgotten that Wormtail is in debt to Harry for saving his life from Sirius, so I imagine that he will play some part.

BandofMothers · 07/06/2007 10:08

seamonster, oh good then.
I am so curious how he'll do it all without DD. I think she might think it's a bit hokey to have DD help thru the portrait or something else, I think it'll be more likely he's left rl clues for him or something.

BandofMothers · 07/06/2007 10:09

Well if we deffo find out Snape's allegiance then that will be crucial, if Harry trusts him when it comes down to it.

seamonster · 07/06/2007 10:21

In a way Wormtail really owes Harry, as it was him (he?) who led to Harry's parents deaths.

seamonster · 07/06/2007 10:22

yes, perhaps they have a period of rest before being able to interact through their portraits.

Sunshinemummy · 07/06/2007 10:24

I also wondered whether the fact that it is Harry's blood Voldemort used to come back will be significant.

seamonster · 07/06/2007 10:25

Oh yes! Remember the gleam in DDs eyes when Harry told him.

seamonster · 07/06/2007 10:26

Perhaps its humanity being put back in him.

becklespeckledfrog · 07/06/2007 10:27

Unfortunately I think there is a fair chance that Harry will die but then he would be reunited with all his family! I hope he does survive but am really not sure how he is going to manage it all! I do think that Godric Griffindor's sword will be important and think it would be quite ironic (is that the right word?) for V to be killed by a sword (albeit one with magic connections) rather than magic as he thinks magic is more important/powerful than anything else. Doubt it would occur to him he could be killed by a sword!
I don't think Harry is a horcrux because why would V keep trying to kill him? That would just be daft!
I do hope Faulkes is in the next book too, am sure he will be as he is the phoenix whose feathers are the core of both Harry and V's wands - the only 2 he ever gave. Surely that must be important (altho after the priori incantantem fiasco V would be sensible to get a new wand - not sure he is sensible though!).
Also, found this theory about how H will defeat V - I quite like it!

Sunshinemummy · 07/06/2007 10:28

BSF can't get into that page at work - can you summarise?

Songbird · 07/06/2007 10:33

bsf, I like it! I think we'll see that veil thing again.

MrsWeasley · 07/06/2007 10:40

sunshinemummy: This is what it says:
"Ok, here's a theory for you.

Voldemort pulls Harry through the veil. Voldemort is sure he can get back - he's got his Horcruxes... Harry on the other hand, cannot. After a face off with no wands, the spirits of Harry's past and Voldemort's victims defend Harry, and Voldemort's final horcrux (the Snake, perhaps?) is destroyed outside the veil by Harry's dream team - Ron and Hermione.

Not sure how yet, but somehow Harry will be pulled back into the living world. I think it might have something to do with choosing to stay with his parents, Sirius, Dumbledore etc... or choosing life and future. But I think the most poignant part of this is the chance for us to see everyone who has ever died in the fight against Voldemort stand up to him. And what a booty-kicking he deserves."

Theory from link

x-posts MrsWeasley!

MrsWeasley · 07/06/2007 10:41

I think the veil will be used again because its needs explaning further. Perhaps Sirius isnt really dead

MrsWeasley · 07/06/2007 10:41

oooops sorry BSF

OP posts:
becklespeckledfrog · 07/06/2007 10:42

I agree that the veil thing is important - do you remember Luna talking about it with Harry? She was talking about her Mum, saying she wasn't sad because she knew she would see her again. When Harry asked how she said something like - "you heard them talking behind the veil..."

becklespeckledfrog · 07/06/2007 10:43

Think Sirius is dead but don't think that beind dead is the end IYSWIM?

MrsWeasley · 07/06/2007 10:44

yes I do SWYM.

OP posts:
becklespeckledfrog · 07/06/2007 10:45

I love what DD said in book 1

"To the well ordered mind, death is but the next great adventure"

seamonster · 07/06/2007 10:46

Wow!
Perhaps Harry will push him through the veil somehow, and because of Harry's blood V will be kept there for ever. neither of them die.
Or Harry will choose to go there by physically pushing V through knowing he can't come back.... but maybe he can because of his blood in V.
Thank you for that link, its got me thinking about something other than my back!

BandofMothers · 07/06/2007 10:50

i thik the veil will be back as harry will try and get sirius back.
like that theory tho. v will think he has horcruxes but they'll all be destroyed. wonderful. but imf they go thru the veil there will be no wonderful moment of realisation from V that he is going to die cos harry's got all his horcruxes.

can't waitfor that bit, will be classic and priceless,

becklespeckledfrog · 07/06/2007 10:51

I still think the most important thing about the blood thing is that V can now touch Harry. Although he couldn't possess him without feeling great pain so I don't think Harry's blood has given him any humanity!
