Is anyone else getting really excited (borderline obsessed)about he new HP book?
I have re-read all the other 6 and everytime I scan down active convos and see "Potty" I heart skips a beat or I hold my breath whilst my eyes focus!!

Please tell me it isn't only me and my DC that are counting the days (hours, minutes, seconds...)

She's a multi millionairre, would she really care???

I remember her saying a long long time ago that when she planned these books she only ever planned to do his school days. So Harry dying or losing his magic is a possibility.

Ah perhaps Harry kills V and then he loses all his powers?????

Now my hope is that as the end was drawing nearer she has changed her mind,(need a praying or fingers crossed smiley) to leave it open for future books.

I don't think she will return (unless she fails at anything else she writes of course!) but doesn't necessarily mean anything bad has to happen to Harry!

I think Snape's going to die trying to save Harry!

I read the last 2 books very heavily pregnant, I won't have a bump to prop the book up on this time, so I hope it's not too heavy

I'm still hoping for a happy ending and that Harry can waltz off into the sunset with Ginny, but I jsut don't know.

I'm reading them all again and I'm half way through book 3, we're camping this weekend and the weather looks like it's going to be awful, so might have finished them by the time I get home.

Sorry people but I think the only way she will be back to write another is if

1. She runs out of money(haha!not likely) 2)She does something for charity. I do however think it would be fun if someone did a Marvin the mad muggle comics or stories.Would love to see them for comic relief or something

There is always the chance that someone else could take it up in the future, like with Peter Pan

I think she has said that she doesn't want anyone else to do Potter stories.I think it would be a bit dissrespectful of some writer to use her stories for their own means when she has said this and unless they had her permision I don't think I'd buy them

I don't think that would work. It's something about her style that makes it so easy to read. You sit down and can't put it down and suddenly you've read 100 pages
Or the whole book. I read Prisoner of Azkaban in less than a day. Admittedly that was pre dd's so was easy to do , but still. Don't think it'd be the same if someone else did it.

I would also imagine that noone could do it legally without her permission. She will have the copyrights.

The biggest prob for the HP series will be in many years time when she is gone.Then it almost becomes a free for all I think.Someone has spoofed the HP series it's called Barry Trotter which I won't read on principle(the author should try using his own imagination for a change as he has I believe spoofed other books)

those spoofs look dreadful, I've completely avoided them.

She will have the copyright for a while, I don't remember offhand how long they've got them after they die.

Like I said there was Peter Pan which was bequeathed to GOSH & then they selected someone to write the sequel, this was all very recently so maybe she will do something similar?

Copyright is held for the life of the author plus 70 years

They spoofed LOTR too, they are pretty funny, but I've never actually finished one, just read the forst couple chapters of the LOTR one.

Hope one day to be writer myself and can't stand the thought of someone re working my ideas.
Have also avoided the LOTR's spoof as love the real thing too much.

He's all obsessed with Fleur tho. Those two are so obvious Harry must feel like banging there heads together.

Have borrowed all of them from my sis today, so am starting no 1 tonight.

I thought he was over Fleur considering she's marrying his brother!

And although it seems obvious I just can't see Hermione & Ron together, I think she's more likely to end up with Krum.

I think HP will lose his powers cos unless he dies (and it is a kids book so can't see the 'star' dying) there is room for sequels

Must admit I suspect Harry will lose some or all of his powers because some of his powers are from V ie parseltongue. (I think it is because he is a horcrux) Also I wouldn't be surprised if he lost his extra powers before he defeats V and is brought down to a david and goliath really exciting looks like he's going to die ending...

surely anything that was there when Harry's parents died could be a horcrux?
