This month we're giving you the chance to win TWO copies of We Were Liars - one for you and one for your teen! This gripping tale of a troubled family in New England will give you both plenty to discuss poolside this summer.

We've got 100 copies of We Were Liars to give away to 50 lucky Mumsnetters, so apply for yours now! The giveaway ends on Monday 8 August.

We ask all winners to share their thoughts (and their teen's thoughts) about the book on this discussion thread. However, you don't have to win free copies to take part in the discussion - anyone who has read We Were Liars can post their feedback here (and you can buy a copy of the book now).

Everyone who posts on the thread before 26 September will be entered into a prize draw to win a £100 Love2shop voucher.

This giveaway is sponsored by Hot Key Books

I love books with a more real life drama attached to them, sounds like a great read, will have to see if my local library has it in :)

Sounds like a really good read.

This book is brilliant! I read it in one sitting. It kept my attention throughout my reading. I loved the poetic style of writing. I would definitely recommend this book to young people who have experienced a loss of someone they loved.

I like the striking title

Thank you for the books as I haven't read the book yet. When they arrived both dds wanted to read them so took one each! DD1 loved it and lent it to her friend. That is the sign of a good book as far as she is concerned. DD2 left it at her grandparents and I haven't had it back yet....

Both said they didn't guess the ending, and didn't really like any of the adults. They all seemed more interested in money then in their children. I was hoping that the DDs would write their own reviews. I'm still waiting...

What a dark interesting thrilling book! The story was written in a very unique style and the end was a real surprise. Together with Cady, her amnesia and migrane attacks, I was suffering through the pages trying to find the answers and the enigma surrounding the Sinclair family. When I found it it was not what I had expected!

I received two copies of "We were liars" to read alongside my daughter. Reading together is something we haven't done since KS1, so enjoying a novel together would be a new experience. I thought I may struggle with reading a YA book, however I found "We were liars" a real page turner and had me hooked from the beginning. It was well written and painted a vivid picture of the lives of the well-to-do Sinclair family. The end kept me guessing and I felt quite cross with myself as looking back there had been clues that hinted at the end scenario. My daughter loved the book too, although struggled with it at times as she has something of an illness phobia and doesn't like reading about medical issues, but she stuck with it and enjoyed the twist at the end. Reading together or parallel with teens is a great idea, I would love to try it again! Thanks for the books Mumsnet and sorry for the late review, we have been in a back to school whirlwind.
