This month we're giving you the chance to win TWO copies of We Were Liars - one for you and one for your teen! This gripping tale of a troubled family in New England will give you both plenty to discuss poolside this summer.

We've got 100 copies of We Were Liars to give away to 50 lucky Mumsnetters, so apply for yours now! The giveaway ends on Monday 8 August.

We ask all winners to share their thoughts (and their teen's thoughts) about the book on this discussion thread. However, you don't have to win free copies to take part in the discussion - anyone who has read We Were Liars can post their feedback here (and you can buy a copy of the book now).

Everyone who posts on the thread before 26 September will be entered into a prize draw to win a £100 Love2shop voucher.

This giveaway is sponsored by Hot Key Books

I enjoyed the book. The idea and story line was good. The ending was good too but sadly the writing style wasn't my cup of tea.

sounds a great read

clarabella12 · 19/09/2016 21:39

was a fantastic read.

Doubtfuldaphne · 19/09/2016 21:52

This is such a fantastic book. I know it's for 'young adults' and I like to think I just about fit in to that category.
It's not a jolly and light hearted read but it'll have you hooked. It's mystery made me question a lot throughout. The way it's written is very different from other books so it's a love it or hate it style.
Without giving anything away it has a wonderful twist and I recommend it to all!

We've not read anything from E. Lockhart before, and always like to try books from new authors. Would love to win this prize to give it a try.

I loved this book! I found it impossible to put down. It was well written and a great story. Without giving anything away, it stayed with me long after getting to the end. I kept having little moments of realisation- ahh, so that's why ....
Teen DD also really enjoyed it and it was great to discuss it after we had both read it, neither of of successfully predicted the ending- it was a real twist that made perfect sense but couldn't be guesed. I have passed it on to others who have also loved it.
Definitely not just one for teens, highly recommended.

This looked such an interesting book. I found the descriptions most interesting so I have bought this book for both me and my daughter to read and hopefully discuss after.

starryskies78 · 20/09/2016 12:17

I read this book a while back and it was totally different to anything I'd read before. I was compelled to keep reading, despite not being sure about the book, it just kind of sucks you in anyway!
Full of twists and turns it's both shocking and heartbreaking. Definitely one to try.

carajane · 20/09/2016 12:56

My daughter read this book whilst on holiday and could not put it down. She gave it to me after finishing it and told me it was good. I had two days of the holiday left and was so gripped I too could not put it down. We have talked about it together and its one of those books that is good to discuss after.

josijo1953 · 20/09/2016 16:22

My brothers are both adults but tend to speak through me rather than to each other
