This month we're giving you the chance to win TWO copies of We Were Liars - one for you and one for your teen! This gripping tale of a troubled family in New England will give you both plenty to discuss poolside this summer.

We've got 100 copies of We Were Liars to give away to 50 lucky Mumsnetters, so apply for yours now! The giveaway ends on Monday 8 August.

We ask all winners to share their thoughts (and their teen's thoughts) about the book on this discussion thread. However, you don't have to win free copies to take part in the discussion - anyone who has read We Were Liars can post their feedback here (and you can buy a copy of the book now).

Everyone who posts on the thread before 26 September will be entered into a prize draw to win a £100 Love2shop voucher.

This giveaway is sponsored by Hot Key Books

Sounds really interesting! Would love to read!

tracyliz · 15/09/2016 13:27

Yes I have and very enjoyable as well but my daughters are a bit less interested in reading at the moment...sure they would be interested if I won the vouchers though.

Would have loved to read this on my recent summer holiday. Could have shared with my teenage daughter, Ellen x

I have started reading it and It's hard to put down. Don't want to read this thread in case of spoilers. It's good stuff so far.

Book with a twist. I enjoyed the involvement from my own thoughts and agree with others didn't see that end! Good read

FoxInABox · 16/09/2016 17:51

I really enjoyed this, a great story based on a group of teenagers on their family island- - priveleged lifestyle but with plenty of dramas and neurocies.

denise632 · 17/09/2016 08:24

i would love this - thanks

Superhen11 · 17/09/2016 11:23

I found this a quick and easy read, but failed to be engaged by any of the main characters (although I appreciate I am far from the target market). My 14 year old daughter, who is usually an avid reader, read up to chapter 4 and said while she would probably finish the book at some point, she was not gripped by it and was not interested in the fate of the characters.

emmav6 · 17/09/2016 20:42

my son really enjoyed it, i started it but not really my cup of tea

daisyduke66 · 17/09/2016 23:46

We read this, both myself and my teenagers. Yes, there was a twist at the end which was unexpected. However it was always leading up to something throughout. I'm afraid I found the book rather melancholic and I simply didn't take to the moaning of the rather privileged characters it centred around. My teenagers put this one to one side too a few chapters in.

ciiaoco · 18/09/2016 02:14

sounds like it could be good.

I received this book from the mumsnet giveaway and was excited to read the book as id heard good things about it. I was expecting to really enjoy this book but I found the book and the style it was written in really hard to get into and as a result I lost interest pretty early on in the book. I found that I didn't really care for any of the characters as I don't feel I ever really got to know them and the storylines throughout the book seemed to be all over the place which isn't helpful when I wasn't enjoying the book in the first place. The only time I felt any emotion during the book was for the poor dogs! The ending kept me gripped a lot more than the rest of the book however it still wasn't a great shock like I was led to believe it would be. I'm glad it was told straight though as I'd waited a long 200 pages for that and had considered starting a new book numerous times whilst trying to finish this one. Overall I was very disappointed, I usually enjoy this type of book but the writing style and lack of storylines in everything but the last twenty five pages made it a very tedious read. Thank you for the book however I'm glad it's finished now as I've been reading it for weeks!

I have had this book on my TBR pile for ages and heard such good things about it but just haven't got round to reading it myself yet! Hopefully I will soon.

pyramidblaster1 · 18/09/2016 19:43

I haven't read this, but would certainly like to.

kayleigh39 · 18/09/2016 21:13

Looks like a good book, even for twenty-somethings!

SandraMay38 · 19/09/2016 17:21

Sounds very intriguing!

Ladylucky99 · 19/09/2016 18:05

Really enjoyed it and so did my cousin who is a real book worm. Lots of drama and makes you want to read on, very enjoyable for me at 27 and my cousin at 16 :-)

flowersfromheaven · 19/09/2016 19:23

No not read it yet but would love to as I enjoying reading, We Were Liars sounds a very interesting read.

grannybiker · 19/09/2016 19:42

Sounds exactly the sort of thing Peter enjoys. Will be looking out for it in the bookshop

liveotherwise · 19/09/2016 20:32

Read this with my teen last week. We both really enjoyed the writing and have loved discussing it. She was taken by surprise by the twist, while I wasn't but that might just be because I've read lots more books than she has.
