I've recently joined Weight Watchers as I have three stones to lose. Last year's chat thread has gone a bit quiet so I thought I'd start a fresh one for 2019!

Anyone else out there making a fresh start? Smile

Whoever used my link upthread, thanks and good luck with it. I've had the email through my end which must mean that your free month is coming to you too.

I've had a TERRIBLE weekend. And I'm meeting a friend for dinner tomorrow, but at a carvery so I can just pick meat (turkey) and vegetables and only have to point the gravy, which I can have a little of. No pud, we don't bother. Looking forward to it.

I'll weigh at home tomorrow am and see if I've spoiled things over the weekend!

I have 2 exercise classes booked and have made space in the hallway for the exercise bike to be permanently set up to encourage me (and the DDs) to use it rather than ignore it!

Weighed into this morning and lost 1lb. Although I am pleased with a loss I am a bit disappointed that it wasn't more, seeing how it was my first week and I have stuck to the plan completely. I am going to keep going though, and maybe get a bigger loss next week.

Hi all!

Really glad to have found this thread.

I have re-started WW as of last Monday. I am a long term WW gold member who has had great success on the plan in the past - I had maintained my goal long term prior to becoming pregnant last year. Fast forward 9 months or so - baby is now 6 weeks old and doing well...and I have around 3 stone to lose 😬. Challenges so far include getting more than 5 minutes’ peace at times to actually prepare healthy food, and also currently being less active than I am used to and would like (some ongoing pregnancy related hip/leg pain which is currently stopping me getting out and about has much I would like, would have walked at least 5 miles daily to and from work before maternity leave).

I’m expecting this to perhaps be a slower weight loss journey than I have been used to in the past, as life is different now, but excited that my first week back on WW went well, I feel healthier already and have lost 2.5lbs this week!

DH is also following the plan to lose a smaller amount of weight, but more importantly for him to get into healthier eating habits after some warnings about diabetes and cholesterol from the doctor. He has lost 5.5lb on his first week and I am very proud of him for actually giving it a go!

Looking forward to following this board for support and encouragement, and good luck to anyone weighing in today! x

ditsy a loss is a loss!!! I've only lost hunger two lbs but wondered if my body was catching up after festive binging? I think you should be pleased with us.

Had an ok weekend, slowly learning what's worth points and isn't. Had a Prosecco and it was 4 points! Gin and slim all the way from now Grin

ChipsAreLife · 14/01/2019 19:19

*hunger was under... shows my state of mind lol

FiveShelties · 14/01/2019 21:03

ditsy - you lost weight, does not matter how much - you lost, congratualtionsSmile. I did not lose anything over the first week.

Ditsy79 · 14/01/2019 21:57

Thanks chips and five I've just got to stick with it 🙂

cricketmum84 · 15/01/2019 06:31

Another 4lbs off for me this week. That's 1 stone 2lbs since Christmas :) still a long way to go but I'm happy with that especially as I didn't track this weekend!

soupforbrains · 15/01/2019 13:09

Well done everyone. I'm weighing in tonight (instead of tomorrow) as I'm away for work tomorrow night. I had hoped to stick to Wednesday and find a local group but there aren't any round there on a Wednesday evening so I'm going tonight instead.

I'm hoping for a loss , any kind of loss would be good. Obviously we all hope for big losses but although I've stuck to the plan in the 12 days since I started and I've had almost all blue dot days barring two when I went over but I've not used all my weeklies either.

On the flip side, I've not been as active as I'd hoped and I've heard that it can take a couple of weeks to get going properly, so I'm preparing myself for only a small loss.

I'll only be disappointed if I've not lost anything, or worse... have somehow gained?! Fingers crossed.

RaggieDolls · 15/01/2019 13:58

Hope you get on ok @soupforbrains.

I'm away with work too and have a formal dinner tonight. I don't think that's going to do my WI many favours.

danni0509 · 15/01/2019 19:03

Hi. Marking place,

I lost 2 stone in 2018 with weight watchers and piled it all back on.

Re started today.

Start weight 14st and a quarter of a lb the ocd in me is wanting to get back onto the scales so it is just the 14st

BridgeFarmKefir · 15/01/2019 19:13

Joining in! Lost 2 stone on WW back in 2011 and dabbled in various diets since. Tipping the scales at 14st currently - heaviest I've ever been - and 3 months post partum so I need something easy and structured to help me shed the 3st+ i need to lose.

Rejoined online today - it's all coming back to me, though v pleased to see eggs and fish are now free.

Egg white oats are going to be my go to brekkie I think - something I ate a lot when weightlifting. (Nicer than it sounds!)

JITSOG · 15/01/2019 19:14

Hi everybody,

May I join in too? Smile

I am hoping to lose a stone taking me from 10.8 to 9.8. I had major orthopaedic surgery 18 months ago and I was told to keep my weight down. Instead my weight has crept up Blush So, I really need to lose weight and quickly.

I have 23 dailies and 28 weeklies. I am using up my dailies but only used 4 weeklies and I'm three days in. Do I have to use up the weeklies? I am worried about it affecting the weight loss.

Thanks in advance!

FiveShelties · 15/01/2019 21:30

cricketmum - well done, that is a fantastic start.

FiveShelties · 15/01/2019 21:32

JITSOG - I am using weeklies and plan to reduce using them if I do not lose weight. I used them over the week-end on wine mostly! Good Luck.

JITSOG · 16/01/2019 08:23

FiveShelties

That’s a good plan. It’s my first week so if I don’t get a good loss I can adapt for the following weeks.

Tbh, I’d be using the weeklies on chocolate and I’m trying to break my choc habit Grin So, I’m hopeful I can lose without using loads of weeklies.

JITSOG · 16/01/2019 08:24

cricketmum84

That’s an amazing loss since Christmas. Any tips 😉

cricketmum84 · 16/01/2019 09:06

@JITSOG I'm just being strict with the points that's all. Haven't even introduced exercise properly yet. A typical day for me looks like this:
B - melon and strawberries with fat free natural yoghurt
L - pitta bread and either pepper or carrot sticks with low fat hummous
D - whatever everyone else is having minus the carbs so chicken and veg, chilli and salad, curry and cauliflower rice etc

I don't feel the need to snack and don't get hungry between meals but do like to use my leftover points on a gin and tonic or weekend wine and takeaway!

cricketmum84 · 16/01/2019 09:34

P.s thanks to all who have signed up using my free month code :)

InTheNorth123 · 16/01/2019 09:43

Hi 👋🏻 I signed up on Saturday and so far I'm finding the points system much better than SW which was too confusing for me!

I am on 23sp per day. Trying to stick to that number and will use my weeklies for a treat at the weekend. I've got three stone to lose, and I'm determined to do it this year.

Is anyone else doing couch to 5k? I have done it before but didn't stick with it all the way. I'm going to start again next week (need to buy some new running gear). Also starting netball. Hoping to shift a few pounds before I go on holiday in February.

My current weight is 13stone and I'm 5ft 6".

stevie69 · 16/01/2019 17:23

Hi everyone,

Just found out that my defunct Tuesday evening meeting has opened up again. I've been going to a different class recently but I never really settled. I can't wait to get back to the old venue; really hope that the new Coach can get the numbers up and keep the class going.

I'm not entirely sure what my current weight is. All will be revealed next Tuesday: well probably Wednesday morning in reality.

Wishing absolutely everyone on the journey all the very best.

We got this Smile

Praiseyou · 16/01/2019 17:49

3.5lbs off on first weigh-in. Quite food considering I did not track everything. Determined to be better this week.

MsMontyWomble · 16/01/2019 17:57

Hi everyone!

Can I ask for people's favourite zero point snacks and/or meals. I'm finding it a bit difficult to get into the swing of it still since moving from SW.

pusspuss9 · 16/01/2019 18:21

Hello

Can anybody tell me if Marmite has any points? I live in Germany and have joined the German WW and they don't have Marmite anywhere on their list of edibles.

cricketmum84 · 16/01/2019 18:42

@pusspuss9 no points in marmite :)
