I've recently joined Weight Watchers as I have three stones to lose. Last year's chat thread has gone a bit quiet so I thought I'd start a fresh one for 2019!

Anyone else out there making a fresh start? Smile

Thank you Cricketmum,

When I'm dying for something salty tasting, I like a cup of hot water with marmite.

onwards and upwards....

Ditsy79 · 16/01/2019 21:38

My favourite 0 point snack is a mousse type thing. You make it by mixing 1/2 pint of boiling water with a packet of sugar free jelly crystals. Leave it to cool and then whisk in 500g tub of 0% Greek yogurt. Pour into a few little tubs and put in fridge to set. It goes all bubbly, and sets like a mousse. I find it is more filling than yoghurt on its own. Only problem is my husband and daughter love it too, so I always run out!

soupforbrains · 17/01/2019 13:41

@RaggieDolls thanks for the good luck.

I lost just half a pound when I weighed in on Tuesday. Which is less than I'd hoped but apparently it can take a couple of weeks for the weight loss to get going.

I'm away with work now and the last two days have been a mare. Yesterday I managed to just stick to my points but today is pretty much buggered. We're in the middle of nowhere so options are extremely limited but I'm doing the best I can, so if I have to dip into my weeklies then so be it.

I got a skipping rope which I've brought with me so I can skip in short bursts whenever I get a chance and I'm starting boogie bounce on Monday too so that should help a bit. 🤞

FromDespairToHere · 17/01/2019 14:39

Hi just found and joining the thread. Am doing ww online (not going to meetings) and lost 2lbs in my first week. 2nd weigh in tomorrow.

I have about 10 or 11 stone to lose in total but I'm not looking at that because it's too daunting. My 1st goal is 20lbs.

I've just discovered mcvities thins at 1 point each!

FromDespairToHere · 18/01/2019 13:24

I've lost another 2lbs, well on my way to my first goal 😊

ChipsAreLife · 18/01/2019 14:57

Well done despair! That's excellent! I think I using on smaller goals is best otherwise it feels like a mountain to climb.

I've lost another lb so far this week official weigh in day is Monday so need to wait until then really.

Am pre menstrual and have been very hungry this week... only have 10 extra points for weekend and out for dinner tomorrow night so been working out every morning to counter balance it. I know you can't count activity points but it makes me feel better if I go over this week.

Wilma55 · 18/01/2019 15:01

You can count activity points if you need them. You can set the app to use them either before or after your weeklies.

FromDespairToHere · 18/01/2019 15:21

Yeah I saw that on the app, is it a new thing?

ChipsAreLife · 18/01/2019 17:32

Oh thanks Wilma I didn't know! I will try do that tonight!

ItchyEyeballs · 19/01/2019 10:48

Hi.

I joined this week. Or should I say, I rejoined this week. I was a member 10 years ago and thought I'd try it again after seeing the success of a family member.

Plan seems simple enough; the app is useful for keeping track and adding up point.

5ft8, starting weight 11st 2, 23lbs to target. Here goes nothing.....

lardass88 · 19/01/2019 17:17

Stayed the same this week 😩 but interestingly this week I made use of my weeklies so going to lay off them a bit this week and see if that makes a difference. Good to see everyone :)

JITSOG · 20/01/2019 07:44

Weigh in day and I’ve lost 3lbs.

I scoffed all my weeklies in one sitting in the end last night. No idea whether that was a good idea or not Grin

Congrats to those who’ve lost (or stayed the same as that’s better than a gain!)

FromDespairToHere · 20/01/2019 13:19

Well done JITSOG

I weigh on a Friday but my week on the app goes from Monday to Sunday so I can save my weeklies for the weekend. Doesn't work for everyone but it works for me!

FiveShelties · 20/01/2019 21:32

So cross at myself, a well deserved gain of half a pound this week. I really should have gained more if I am honest. So am down 4 pounds over three weeks - not exactly a runaway success, and sadly I only have myself to blame.

So annoying when you cannot blame someone elseGrin

chrismartinsfuturewife · 20/01/2019 23:49

Hello I've just joined tonight and I have a question about the daily and weekly points. I'm 44 years old female 16st 10, 5ft 7 and have been allocated on the app 23 daily 35 weekly points. I know the plan has changed since I was on WW a few years back but the daily points seem low? Any advice please, thank you

FiveShelties · 21/01/2019 01:03

Points are lower because there is so much 'free food' - things like chicken, fish and eggs are zero. There is a list of all the free foods on the site and on the app.

NewYoiker · 21/01/2019 01:37

Umm can I join? I lost 3 stone alone last year and I'm 19 stone 8 now, so have fucking loads to lose!! I don't know whether to set a goal of 1 stone instead of 9 Blush

JITSOG · 21/01/2019 06:26

FiveShelties you’ll soon get that off again. Don’t feel too disheartened Flowers

Welcome NewYoiker and chrismartinsfuturewife Smile

I find 23 points is fine and having only 23 encourages me to use them wisely. I am careful with the carbs and have seen a massive increase in my fruit/veg intake. The trick is to plan ahead your meals for the day and spread the points out to ensure you stay full!

FiveShelties · 21/01/2019 06:58

JITSOG - thank you - it was my own silly fault. Back to it today and no wine - note to self, no wine!Grin

Ditsy79 · 21/01/2019 10:40

Well done everyone who has lost this week. Lardass I'm sure you will get a big loss next time, and fiveshelties that half lb will soon be a distant memory.
I've lost 2lb this week, so 3 lbs in total so far. It is definitely going slowly, but I haven't felt starving and used most of my weeklies.

Am getting organised with meals, making soup etc to take to work. Feeling quite chuffed with myself!

lilraven · 21/01/2019 15:24

Hi all,
Thinking of joining today, just had a few questions.
If I start the online one only, do I get sent all info on how the diet works etc in the post as well or it is only online?
Does the app have the points for eating out on there or do I need to buy the little book (you can see how long ago I was last a member Grin)
And finally if I am an online member would I still be allowed to turn up to a meeting to purchase some bits there?
I'm just trying to decide if it's better to do online or not. I have decent scales at home already.
Thanks will be joining you soon Smile

InTheNorth123 · 21/01/2019 15:44

Hi Raven,

I haven't had the info in the post, but there's loads on their website and on the app. I have ordered some food online, but not sure if you could buy it at a meeting...I'd guess probably not sorry! There are lots of options for eating out on the app, but not everything is on there.

lilraven · 21/01/2019 18:28

Thank you inthenorth!

I've just joined using someone's referral link on here. Here's mine if anyone else is thinking of joining up and getting us both a month free!

www.weightwatchers.co.uk/uk/checkout/iaf/?iaftoken=7903D1E200

Getting ready to read all info and start fresh in the morning. Really looking forward to this new start.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 21/01/2019 19:18

It was my referral I think, as I've had an email to say someone's joined up with it. Hope some others take you up on yours as it's a really fab way to extend membership and make it cheaper overall.

I've had a terrible few weeks, but back on track today! Loving zero heroes in salmon and chicken.

ww soup, grapes, cereal bar for lunch - 5pts
Salmon with watercress, rocket and spinach with balsamic glaze for dinner - 1pt.

I have pancakes left for later, but can easily fit them in my pts.

Madein1995 · 22/01/2019 07:44

Argh so annoyed. Lost 2.5lb last night, it was my second week. I'm used to big losses so that is frustrating. I'm also very overweight - 16stone - so should be seeing big losses at first.

I did have two 'off' days I'll admit that. Well not off as much as replacing meals with sweets and using my weeklies 🙄 Even so, I'm still annoyed and upset.

Can someone tell me if they think something is wrong with my diet? I'm on 27points a day. A typical day is

Coffee, alpen bar and a banana.

Bag of French fries or yogurt, raspberries and a tsp honey mid morning

A wrap with chicken tikka, lettuce. Either a bag of French fries (if I've not had one earlier) or a fibre one bar or a WW protein bar

Tea might be chilli with cheese (no rice), pasta Bolognese, curry and rice, stir fry etc (I weigh out the carbs)

Depending on what I have eaten through the day and what points I have left, possibly a bit of ice cream or fun size twix or glass of juice, afterwards
