I've recently joined Weight Watchers as I have three stones to lose. Last year's chat thread has gone a bit quiet so I thought I'd start a fresh one for 2019!

Anyone else out there making a fresh start? Smile

Whoops! That was meant to say @soupforbrains!

QforCucumber · 08/01/2019 16:54

found the thread and checking in but will catch up after the commute :)

soupforbrains · 08/01/2019 19:35

@lardass88 yeah I know the weekly points I meant the daily ones.

@Talkstotrees thank you.

It's very unlikely I'm ever going to be that far under, I was just curious as I had 20 of today's points still left at dinner time today. I've treated myself to a high points comfort tea though so don't have so many left now haha.

tryinganewname · 08/01/2019 19:38

If you click on 'your journey' on the app and then select any day, it will tell you what your blue dot range is - mine is 14-29 but my dailies are set at 24, so I can go 10 under and 5 over to achieve the blue dot.

I'm 7 under today - this has NEVER happened to me.. and I've just had some Halo Top ice cream!

soupforbrains · 08/01/2019 20:07

@tryinganewname thank you!

I'm set to 25 daily and my range is 15-30 points so same as you in the sense that it's 10 under or 5 over. My original planned dinner for today was 8points so I'd have missed the blue dot as I'd have been 12 under. As it happens I had a 'luxury' supper and pudding so I'm finishing just 3 under.

FiveShelties · 08/01/2019 21:35

Can I join in too please? I joined on 31st December and had three good news and four very bad days but managed to stay the same. I have been messing around with the same few pounds for about a year now.

I am 10 st 11lbs and want to be 9st 12lbs and stay there. I am finding the app really good. I have 23 points and presume my range will be 13 to 28 but have not checked that. Am on laptop so cannot check at the moment. My weigh in is Monday - because all my diets seem to start on a Monday. I am also trying to reduce my alcohol and signed up for Dry January - or perhaps I should have found Dryer January.

FiveShelties · 09/01/2019 04:57

Trying thank you, I found the Blue Dot range and it is 13 to 28 for me. I had 11 points on Monday and could not understand why there was no dot. The range explains all😀.

Meredith501 · 09/01/2019 13:53

I've just been to my post Christmas weigh in - up 9lbs!!!! I joined the week before Christmas and lost 5lbs in the first week but enjoyed Christmas with wild abandon obviously!

I have gained a stone and a half in the last 6 months. I am really panicking, I am only 6lbs lighter than I was the day I got home from hospital with my baby (nearly 2 years ago!).

We are doing ivf in June and I need to have lost at least 4 stone by then. I have known about this for a year but I am the queen of self sabotage.

I know I need to take it day by day but it just seems so daunting, I have so much to lose.

SANDALS1014 · 09/01/2019 17:56

Hi everybody! I've been MIA for the past few days busier than a one-armed paper hanger! Monday I screwed up REALLY bad and went way over my 23 pts for the day but, found my brains yesterday; just in time to get back on track. Does anybody watch "The Bachelor" in the UK? Just curious because I "hear" there are some fans of Colton, the virgin. He's what I call delicious eye candy approved by WW! :) Have a great day!

RaggieDolls · 09/01/2019 18:45

@Meredith501 I think deadlines seem further away from the other side of Christmas. I'm sure now you're in the year of your IVF you'll find the zone if that makes sense??

I've been trying to think about goals myself and unusually I don't have loads of plans for this year. We will go away in April so I guess I'd like to be lighter by then.

soupforbrains · 09/01/2019 20:59

I am on the app as mermaidrach if anyone would like to connect or follow or whatever it's called on there.

I'm feeling simultaneously sad and happy tonight.

I had my first ever weigh in tonight. I haven't weighed myself in over 2 years, so while I knew I'm the biggest I've ever been I didn't have a number to pin on it. As it transpires I'm a stone heavier than my most pessimistic guesstimate at 17st9.5lb

But I already knew I was in this for the long haul and I'm still feeling confident motivated and happy with the points system and how I'm going to reach my target so it's a mixture of emotions here.

4st9.5lbs to lose. I can do this.

lardass88 · 10/01/2019 07:43

Ok... so I've been feeling really positive .. first weigh in and lost 1.5 lbs. just had a sneaky peak at the scales this morning and I'm back to normal weight ☹️I know I shouldn't have weighed myself but I've been so good I wanted to see it to believe it. Well it backfired and now I feel like 💩

cricketmum84 · 10/01/2019 13:04

@lardass88 that's exactly why I only weigh once a week. Same time of day.

My weight really fluctuates during the week so I get a much more steady result when I only weigh on a Tuesday morning x

lardass88 · 10/01/2019 13:24

Well lesson learned. Not going anywhere near them untill Saturday morning :)

SANDALS1014 · 10/01/2019 18:16

lardass, your weigh-in day is Saturday'; like mine? I weighed myself this morning to see if I'm close to the weigh-in # and I'm .2 over!!! I've bumped up my exercises today and will drink more water than usual to make sure I see another lb or two gone. They always say the last 10 lbs are the toughest to lose and it's true! We CAN do this!!
soupforbrains....you are also 10 lbs overweight? Just think how smart you are stopping now to do something about it rather than wait until the number is overwhelming.

lardass88 · 10/01/2019 18:31

@SANDALS1014 I've stuck to it so we'll all week and will be gutted if I've not lost anything. But we shall see. I've got a nasty bout of flu so fingers crossed that helps haha x

SANDALS1014 · 10/01/2019 19:47

LA, (short for lardass! :) you poor thing dealing with the flu! That alone should help you lose weight but, whenever I'm sick, I crave stupid stuff like ice cream or pudding! Get well soon. I think you said you don't go to meetings; right? Are you registered with WW on-line?

lardass88 · 10/01/2019 19:53

Yeah I do it all online, with the ap

ChipsAreLife · 10/01/2019 20:36

I think it's best to limit the weigh ins. I weighed yesterday after three really good days and was 1.5lbs up Sad weight today and 2 down from that.

It's so tempting to do everyday but it changes so much it's best avoid it. My tummy def feels less bloated so that's keeping me going.

I recommend the chicken cacciatore recipe on the app. Fairly easy to make tasty and filling and only 3 points with veg!

Trying to train myself to check points before eating. At a stupid chocolate thing today at work thinking it wouldn't be much but was 4 points!!!! Grrrrrr!

How's everyone else doing?

Talkstotrees · 10/01/2019 21:16

I’ve been a bit peckish today - less hungry but feeling more, I don’t know how to describe it, perhaps deprived? When I get the peckish feeling I do something that takes me away from access to food until it passes. Seems to work but I have had 30 points today so no blue dot for me Sad

doodlejump1980 · 10/01/2019 21:19

Well I went last Thursday. Was 13.3. Weighed in tonight at meeting 12.12+1/2 so lost 4.5 this week! Happy with that! 😬

Talkstotrees · 10/01/2019 21:40

Well done DoodleJump! And into the next stone Star

ChipsAreLife · 10/01/2019 22:21

Well done toddle!

Talks I think we all have those days and that's what the weekly allowance is for. Don't beat yourself up over going a few points over. Tomorrow is a new day and all that

Ditsy79 · 10/01/2019 22:29

Well done Doodle I have been sticking to plan all week, except I had a couple of biscuits this evening which made me go over my daily point allowance - still got lots of weeklies left though. I'm new to all this, so is it better to use all the weeklies or not?

doodlejump1980 · 11/01/2019 08:53

I’ve been splitting my weeklies up. So instead of my 23 daily points I’ve had 28 and no weeklies. Worked for me (I love bread too much!)
