I've recently joined Weight Watchers as I have three stones to lose. Last year's chat thread has gone a bit quiet so I thought I'd start a fresh one for 2019!

Anyone else out there making a fresh start? Smile

I have no children at home and not currently working so not sure what my excuse is 😬 (I’m my defence I’ve been divorcing and moving - I’m working on getting my Mojo back!)

windysowindy · 25/03/2019 13:52

Hello!
Can I please join? I went to my first meeting and I am already hungry 😭😭😭

GimmeBread · 26/03/2019 21:56

Joined tonight and weighed in at 12st 3lb. 10 years ago I joined WW because I didn't want to be "fat and 40"! Joined again as i don't want to be "fat and 50"!

I'm confident it will work as I lost 35lb the last time.

Hoping to lose 3lb on week 1 and 10lb by the time I hit the beach on 5 May! That's doable isn't it? 🤞🏻

LetItGoToRuin · 27/03/2019 12:29

GimmeBread, I'd say it is doable but it doesn't leave much room for human error! I assume you don't have a great deal to lose in total.

I have lost 1st since mid Jan, going from 11st 6lb to 10st 6lb, also with a beach holiday as the focus. I now need to maintain - or ideally lose another lb or two - for another fortnight.

Windy - I like your username, but if you were already windy when you started WW, it'll only get worse I'm afraid!

GimmeBread · 29/03/2019 06:54

Thanks @LetItGoToRuin - it doesn't leave much wiggle room does it? 😀 I really hope this works. I had a bit of a clothes clear out last weekend and I've got so much stuff that I can't fit into and that's one of the main reasons for joining WW.

I put weight on last year after a year of ill health and I just can't shift it - and it's just down to bad food choices. This plan is making me eat much more healthily but food shopping is absolute murder for me now! I was diagnosed with Coeliac Disease 7 months ago and food shopping was tricky enough. Now I have to scour the shelves for WW and Coeliac friendly foods - it's taking three times as long! 😂😂

InterdimensionalHoleOfPancakes · 29/03/2019 07:52

Hi everyone, I'm new. I can't do meetings so I signed up online yesterday so I'm hoping chatting here will provide me with some of the accountability I'm missing from meetings. I'm 5'4“ and 15st so I have 5st+ to lose.

GimmeBread · 30/03/2019 10:22

I only joined WW 4 days ago and my boss commented on my healthy salad lunch yesterday. I told him I was doing WW. Asked how I was getting on - I showed him this:

InterdimensionalHoleOfPancakes · 30/03/2019 11:45

Gimmie 😂😂😂

Soonsoonsoon · 02/04/2019 14:05

Hi, can I join please?! I joined online 5 weeks ago and have so far lost 9lbs.

Is anybody else breastfeeding? I have a 7 week old ebf baby so get 41 dailies and 42 weeklies. Seems a lot - do you use them all/most of them? I don't want to mess with my milk supply but feel like I've got so much to lose. I'm 5"8, currently 14st5lbs and want to get to 12st7lbs and then assess. After my other DC I ended up not losing any of the weight until i stopped breastfeeding because I basically ate everything!

GimmeBread · 02/04/2019 18:08

2lb off my first week! Yay! 👏👏

I'd hoped for 3 but things went to pot on Mother's Day - what can you say when your first born cooks you a steak and homemade chips? And you're youngest buys you a bottle of gin? I mean, it would be rude not to wouldn't it?

I think if I'd stuck to plan I'd have lost the three. I'll stick in this week, up my step challenge and go for another 2lb loss next week🤞🏻

Greece2019 · 03/04/2019 16:14

I used to do Pro Points and could always have things like Curly Wurlys as I think they were only 2 points. Now I’ve started Smart Points and Curly Wurlys are 6 points! What are people having for low point treats now???

boomboom1234 · 04/04/2019 22:15

Can anyone give me some advice? I'm eating out at an ember inn Saturday lunch time. What's the best thing to choose from a pub menu. Im happy to go over my daily and use the extras but just want to pick something yummy and a treat but not go too crazy!! I'm so so tempted by gammon and chips with pineapple but would that be the worst thing to pick?

cricketmum84 · 05/04/2019 05:51

@boomboom1234 chicken is probably a better choice than gammon. And stay away from the chips, they are always so high in points. Maybe have the gammon but see if you can swap chips for a jacket potato?

LetItGoToRuin · 11/04/2019 13:41

It's gone a bit quiet on here!

I'm 'done' for now, in a positive weigh. My goal was to lose a stone before holiday, and I've done it (plus another 2lbs for good measure). We fly on Saturday.

This time last year I'd achieved the same, and was determined to get back from holiday and maintain (I'm within a good weight range for my height, but am 5lbs off my ideal target). However, last year I let it slip, and put all the weight on again.

This time I have cancelled my WW subscription in anticipation of the inevitable slide (because otherwise I just pay and don't use it). I still remain hopeful of getting back on track after holiday, but deep down I am already thinking of the Easter Eggs that will be waiting for me on my return...

How bad am I, to be determined to lose the weight, but be equally determined that I'll go straight back to bad habits :(

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 13/04/2019 16:08

Can I join please. Have rejoined today and have a new fit bit coming. Did major house renovations over the last 18 months with 3 DCs under 5 and ate allllll the chocolate to keep me sane.

Have just been on a family holiday and am horrified at the photos. I look awful and can't fit into any of my nice clothes

Am weighing tomorrow but think I will want to lose 4 stones - gulp

JITSOG · 10/05/2019 15:53

Its gone eerily quiet on here!!

I fell off the wagon after a week earlier in the year. But, I restarted 16 days ago. I’m 5lbs down and determined to reach goal,

Hope everyone is doing well Smile

thismeansnothing · 12/05/2019 16:50

Hiya!

I joined WW Tuesday just gone. My DD is 11 weeks and I joined as I need something to just keep me on the strait an narrow. I feel I eat quite healthy but snacking and eating half a pack of biscuits in an evening with a brew wasn't helping. I've signed up for three months digital and studio as a kick start then after that if it's working go down to the digital only subscription then hopefully nothing at all.

Ideally long term I'd like to lose 15kg (33lb) Anyway I've set myself a target of a 5kg (11lb) in 6 weeks and see how I go.

First weigh in on Tuesday so hope it's starting to work. I've had the odd biscuit here and there (rather than half a pack 🤣) had some decent meals, plenty of exercise which is normal for me and stuck within my SP. Fingers crossed.

JITSOG · 13/05/2019 06:12

Hi thismeansnothing 🙂

Sounds like you’ve made a great start! I find the programme easy to use and understand. I was on SW previously. I prefer the carb counting on WW and so far, I’ve had better losses on WW.

I’m hoping to lose a further 10/12 lbs and ideally I’d like to have done it by mid June.

I’m being strict throughout the week (no weeklies) and staying under my 23 points. Then, having a “scoff” night on Saturday night Grin So far that’s worked well for me. I’m trying this way too, to break the snacking in the evening cycle!!

Good luck for the week ahead and congratulations on the birth of your little one.

cricketmum84 · 13/05/2019 06:39

Yes it has been quiet on here!

Good luck to the new joiners and well done on the losses so far!!

I'm still steadily following the plan, love the app for keeping me accountable.

I hit the 4 stone mark last week which was amazing! Currently at a total loss since Christmas of 4stone and 4lbs :)

Happy Monday and wishing us all a happy and successful week ahead!

JITSOG · 13/05/2019 06:53

cricketmum84

That’s an incredible loss. Well done Smile

I like the app too. I don’t post on connect but seeing other people succeeding has been inspirational.

thismeansnothing · 16/05/2019 21:23

Had my first weigh in on Tuesday and lost 6lb 😲

Decided this week to add all my evening meals to the app in advance then I could see what I had to play around with for the rest of the week. That's been really useful because I'm going out with my mum tommorow for breakfast and entering it all in advance has made me be really careful in the run up and try and roll over a few SP.

Also tried a few recipes off the app. Most have gone down well all except Malaysian Pork. DH was not a fan, I couldn't decide if I liked it or not but DD loved it 🤣

JITSOG · 17/05/2019 22:25

Well done Smile that’s a great loss!!

I’m still plodding along. I’m on holiday in a week so I’m trying to lose as much as possible until I go.

I’ve reset my goal to 9.4. Meaning I have 11lbs left to lose.

JammyC · 19/05/2019 19:29

Hello, can I join? Have about 4st to lose and have never been bigger than I am now. Lost 2-3st previously with WW but 10yrs ago when I was younger and a different points system in place!

I'm a working mum of 2 under 5. I need grab and go type lunch ideas and quick dinners. Cannot be doing with cooking for an hour after kids bedtime every night.

Breakfast I'm hoping to make scrambled eggs and mushrooms or do overnight oats with fat free yoghurt sweetened with mashed bananas.

Any tips on low point chocolates? Used to be curly wurlies but is there anything better these days?

cricketmum84 · 20/05/2019 06:46

Quick check in from me :) lost 5lbs this week so that's 4stone 9lbs since Christmas!

For low point chocolates I absolutely love chocolate mini milk lollies. 1 point each!!

Hope everyone is doing well and tracking away :)

JITSOG · 20/05/2019 14:11

Welcome JammyC and well done to cricketmum84 on your amazing loss.

I tend to eat Mediterranean salads for dinner as they are quick to prep. Also I batch cook chilli, vegetable bolognese. For lunch I have a ham sandwich plus carrot sticks or lentil soup.

My BMI is now 24.5 and my losses are slow. Despite eating 900-1000 calories every day. I’m only losing 1.5lbs a week!! But I have noticed I’m getting fuller faster and my sweet tooth is waning. I’ve avoided chocolate treats, to try and snap myself out of evening snacking. The first two weeks were hard not scoffing something sugary but it’s got easier lately.

Wishing everyone a great week Smile
