WeightWatching2019 · 02/01/2019 14:34

I've recently joined Weight Watchers as I have three stones to lose. Last year's chat thread has gone a bit quiet so I thought I'd start a fresh one for 2019!

Anyone else out there making a fresh start? Smile

Have def eaten my weeklies, had a kids party and picked - I'm terrible for eating food mindlessly that is in front of me. Is anyone else like this?

A healthy week planned and weigh in is on Friday so enough time to be good.

FiveShelties · 27/01/2019 20:52

I have lost two pounds this week, gives me a total of 6 in four weeks. I would like to lose another 7 in the next 5 weeks.

This week I used all my daily points, all my weeklies and even converted the Fitpoints! I think I was very lucky to lose 2 pounds. Have a good week everyoneGrin

Madein1995 · 28/01/2019 07:45

Was really good all week, and then the weekend - just whoosh! Have definitely used all my weeklies. Stepped on scale in work and apparently have lost half a pound. That was before eating though, so god knows how it'll be by tonight. Will have slice of toast for breakfast, soup for lunch and have satsumas and grapes for snack

twinkledag · 28/01/2019 09:19

@Madein1995 - we can sit on the naughty step together then

Today's food: eggs, milky coffee. Chicken salad. Thai curry. Blueberries.

hilbil21 · 28/01/2019 09:47

I was on the last thread I think! Can't remember.

I've been sticking to WW since September (apart from a week in Cancun and Christmas) and have lost 20.5lbs so far.

My starting weight was 13.11 and current weight is 12 4.5 Smile I am a bridesmaid next year and would like to get to 9.7 but who knows whether I will make it! I will try my best.

I don't rate Connect on the app much but am a member of two really good Facebook groups which give really good ideas, if anyone wants the details of them give me a shout.

I'm also on Instagram my username is hilbil21, I do sometimes share food pictures lol

Hope everyone is doing well today!

Ditsy79 · 28/01/2019 12:46

Stayed the same this week. Was really good up until yesterday when I had a meal out with family... Oh well. Back on it today.

LetItGoToRuin · 28/01/2019 14:05

Mind if I join?

It's a true feeling of deja vu for me: I joined WW mid Jan 2018 with the aim of losing a stone before a sunny holiday in April. I achieved that but gradually put it all on over the remainder of 2018, and a fortnight ago we booked another sunny holiday for April 2019, so I'm back to try to achieve the same again.

I'm pretty confident I'll achieve it - I like a clear goal with a time limit - but my challenge will be to keep it off afterwards...

I'm an online member, and lost 3lbs the first week, and 2 1/4lbs the second.

Weigh in day is Monday, and we're away this coming weekend with my brothers with a distinct wine focus, so I'm determined to be angelic all week and enjoy myself without going overboard over the weekend...

DeloresJaneUmbridge · 28/01/2019 14:07

I joined two weeks ago and so far I have lost 5lbs. It’s actually fine and I like having those extra weekly points. It’s my birthday this weekend and I fully plan on using the extra points on that night. Grin

LetItGoToRuin · 28/01/2019 14:16

Well done, Dolores, and so you should enjoy your birthday (and get straight back on it afterwards, of course!)

I have struggled a bit this past fortnight with feeling tired, probably because I’m slightly lacking energy as my body is forced to burn fat rather than being boosted with quick release carbs. I have had a couple of mini naps in the afternoon at the weekends, which is unheard of for me!

I normally struggle with my blood sugars (insulin resistance – they drop too low after poor eating makes them spike – I am on Metformin though am not diabetic) and on WW I can tell my blood sugars are far better controlled because I’m not eating much carb/sugar, and I’m delighted I’m able to diet without these ‘crashes’ or feeling too hungry, but I am missing that feeling of ‘bounce’!

Does anyone else feel like this?

DeloresJaneUmbridge · 28/01/2019 15:19

I am prediiabetic so am very much watching my carbs.

I can't go ultra low but I aim for no more than 150g per day. That's advice from diabetes.co.uk

I may go lower depending on how I feel and cope.

Madein1995 · 29/01/2019 09:28

Lost 0.5lb. so pissed off with myself. I'm great on weekdays then it all goes to fuck on weekends. Argh.

DeloresJaneUmbridge · 29/01/2019 10:18

Well done Made

0.5lb is still a loss and you had a great weekend too. Slow and steady wins the race.

I discovered that Zumba achieves lots of Fit points.

purplelass · 29/01/2019 10:31

Hello, I've recently joined WW and have my first weigh in tomorrow. Eek!

I've set my target at losing 1 1/2 stone. There might be more to go, I'll see how I look / feel if I ever get there! The idea of seeing '9 stone something' on the scales feels a loooong way off right now...

ChipsAreLife · 29/01/2019 11:46

made I'm exactly the same! So good in the week and then weekend comes and I lose control especially in the evenings. I think I need a weekend evening hobby to stop me eating!

Welcome purple sounds like we are similar! I want to lose 1.5 stone and get into the 9s too. Here's hoping! Good luck for your first weigh in

lilraven · 29/01/2019 18:16

0.5lb off for me on my first week but I'm not going to beat myself up about it as I had switched straight from one week of a VLCD losing 9lbs so it is going to be slower for me to start with I think!

FiveShelties · 30/01/2019 04:22

made I am the same with weekends, I need to change my wine drinking hobby to a water drinking habit 😀

purplelass · 30/01/2019 11:02

First weigh-in - 2 1/2lbs gone Grin

After a couple of hiccups I've got the hang of it now I think and hope to continue at around 2lb a week so I'll be at my target in time for bikini season!

ChipsAreLife · 30/01/2019 14:08

Well done purple!

Can people share with me their quick low point dinners? I've found some on the app but they can take a while and I've two toddlers to contest with Grin

DH was being nice and made me steak and chips last night Confused was lovely but made me go way over points! Try to redeem by having a low point day.

How's everyone else doing?

ChipsAreLife · 30/01/2019 14:08

Please share sorry x

twinkledag · 30/01/2019 17:01

Sorry for radio silence!

Been good all week and did a workout too so that's good for the fit points.

Had a weird picky day today...

Shepherds pie without the potato topping and cabbage for dinner

FromDespairToHere · 30/01/2019 22:44

Chips I did a load of stir-fried veggies and then simmered with passata. Fried 2 small fillets of sea bass in frylite then served them on top of my veg. No points tea for me!

cricketmum84 · 31/01/2019 07:13

Chicken and fish are your friends :) zero point so you can have some carbs with your tea.

I make a mean 1 point chicken curry where you just throw all the ingredients in and let them simmer. For 4 people I use 3 chicken breasts, a Tim of chopped tomatoes, a carton of passata, tablespoon of tikka seasoning, 2 teaspoons garam masala. A teaspoon turmeric, fresh coriander, fresh garlic and bulk it out with onions and peppers. Had enough for a 5th portion the other night for work lunch :) you can add a little fat free yoghurt at the end if you want a creamier curry x

cricketmum84 · 31/01/2019 08:28

@ChipsAreLife the best thing I do is plan all our evening meals for the week on a Saturday morning, it makes dinners farvwuicker. Most of the meals I cook are normal family dinners but I adapt my serving to be more ww friendly. So for this week I have done:

Monday - fish and chips. Battered frozen fish for DH and DC, steamed white fish fillet for me, chips done in air fryer, garden peas. Really easy Cos you just bing everything in and it cooks itself.

Tuesday - chicken curry and rice (naans for DH and DC)

Wednesday - skinless chicken thighs marinaded in jerk seasoning. Oven baked and served with air fryer chips and loads of salad

Thursday - spicy mince tacos. I will use little gem lettuce leaves instead of having the tacos.

Friday - steak, grilled tomato and mushrooms, baked potatoes (sweet potato for me)

twinkledag · 31/01/2019 11:33

I agree, chicken breast is your friend!

Had a sneaky weigh in this morning and I'm 3lbs down . But think I'm out for dinner tonight - social life gets in the way of dieting!!
