First off, I know there's a dedicated area in big/slim/whatever but I'm after traffic as it's a bit quiet in the WW section. Second, I know that 5:2 and low carb are popular on MN but neither of them suit me whereas I've lost weight with WW in the fairly distant past and regained due to unrelated issues which I'll leave out for now. I'm sure there are plenty of opinions on why it doesn't work but for me it does.

Just wondering if anyone is thinking of signing up and would like a support thread over on the WW board. I have at least 4st to lose and would appreciate it. I can't go to meetings as they don't fit in with work, so will be doing it online (half price on the website at the moment and Top Cashback give a few quid back). Anyone in?

IcaMorgan, 9lbs in just over a month is good going!

I've used all but 10 of my weeklies at the end of day 3 Blush I'm going to use the fit points too, just to see what happens. Had a little peep at the scales and illusory Christmas weight is gone so I'm going to try to be fairly relaxed about the whole thing.

Made a nice tea tonight - cut some courgette and carrot with my spanking new for January spiraliser, added mushrooms and a few Singapore rice noodles and had it with steamed salmon. Healthiest meal I've ever cooked I think!

Off to the gym when the DCs are asleep to assert myself as a January exerciser and proud.

Forgot my stats, height 5'5", starting weight 15st 3lbs, goal weight 9st 13lbs

Emochild · 04/01/2017 20:09

I've got my weigh in first thing tomorrow before work

I'm a bit worried because I've gone over some days and way under others -still not eaten my weekly points though

Debating giving no count a go next week

empirerecordsrocked · 04/01/2017 20:35

I'm back on it tomorrow. Lost a stone before Christmas and hoping the damage isn't tooooooo bad from Christmas. I tried to be relatively sensible food wise but there was a lot of wine involved!

Tracking from tomorrow and weigh in tomorrow.

Breakfast - melon and grapes
Lunch - sandwich thin, ham, laughing cow cheese and salad
Dinner - spaghetti bolognese

lilygirl81 · 04/01/2017 20:43

Emochild I think it sounds like you should be ok, hopefully your days will balance out especially if you didn't use your weeklies

JenniferYellowHat1980 · 04/01/2017 22:24

empire, how many points is that? It doesn't look like much to me but I have 30 points a day. I totted my calorie intake up according to the app earlier. It's less that 1300 which concerns me a little seeing as I've used 10 weeklies on top of my 30. I'm definitely going to use all mine, and the fitpoints. I have a little bit of chocolate planned in tomorrow in the hope that a little of what I fancy will keep me going!

Hi, I am thinking of joining WW - for those doing online, how do you find it? Do you get the books etc that explain how it works, sample menus etc? Or do you think it would be better to join a group and then move to online once I've got all the material and know what I'm doing! Thanks

Champagneformyrealfriends · 04/01/2017 23:48

BanburyBun There's a good offer on at the minute for online+meetings-£32.17 for 3 months. It works out cheaper than online for 3 months.

BanburyBun · 05/01/2017 00:19

Thanks Champagne - have just joined. Need to lose 2 stone...

Monica1969 · 05/01/2017 15:30

Hi
I started WW last week on Smart Points but I am feeling so hungry so I have decided to try the No Count. Is there anywhere on here that has any No Count recipes?

namechangedtoday15 · 05/01/2017 16:12

I signed up for 3 months last night. I have 2 stones to lose. Not expecting to do it in the 3 months but would like to be maybe halfway there. Do I just go along to a meeting (planning on Saturday) and get the books?

I've been trawling the internet for various recipes and found something called Skinny Kitchen Secrets. The recipes look lovely and its clear from some of the comments the writer was recommended in the WW magazine at some point. Has anyone used the recipes? Does anyone have any other tips for blogs / websites that might be inspirational (the ww website is a bit dull and hard to navigate!). I'm trying hard to be committed, I am usually good until I sit down about 9pm when the children are in bed and my motivation disappears!

MidnightDexy · 05/01/2017 16:24

I really really recommend a blog called skinnykitchensecrets.com by a girl called laura. She is a ww ambassador (always in the magazine). Her food is delicious, doesn't taste 'diet' at all and my fiancé loves it all (as long as we make him extra pasta / potato). If you are still doing propoints (i couldn't get into smart points) then her old recipes still have the pp value if you look in the address bar at the top!

namechangedtoday15 · 05/01/2017 16:25

Thats the one I've seen. I've only just joined so don't really know about propoints, am trying the smart points. Are her recipes smart points or pro points?

Monica1969 · 05/01/2017 16:28

Hi Namechange

I couldn't agree more with regards to the WW site. I find Pinterest really good but a lot of the recipes are from the US and im not sure whether the Points system is the same.
My guilty pleasure is crisps and like you, evening is worse, I have recently tried kale crisps, most would turn their nose up - me included, until I tried them, I cover them in salt and pepper and chilli oil, amazing :-)

Monica

MidnightDexy · 05/01/2017 16:28

Oh my goodness cross post sorry!!! Didn't read ahead. Glad you like it too namechanged. Two other good websites (although not so good imo) are skinnytaste.com and sliceofslim.com. Although slice of slim annoys me because it's hard to find what you're in the mood for whereas skinnykitchensecrets is organised by key ingredient (poultry / beef / fish) and also by cuisine (italian / mexican / chinese)

MidnightDexy · 05/01/2017 16:30

Now they are all smart points. She gave both for a while but i suspect someone asked her not too...so now it's only her old (pre dec 2015) recipes that have pp and again the pp aren't actually listed they are just hidden in the url...

namechangedtoday15 · 05/01/2017 16:44

Thank you, will look at those websites. Off to try the kale crisps although not expecting much Wink

MidnightDexy · 05/01/2017 16:50

Namechange - assuming you eat meat try the chicken tikka pizza, it's divine! I use a normal wrap but omit the cashews (refuse to have cashews in house as i will eat them all) and so i figure it still works out as 10 points xxxx

Monica1969 · 05/01/2017 16:55

Oh they are nicer than you think, especially if you like salty savoury snacks like crisps but be careful, they don't take long to cook and half a bag shrinks to a small bowl ha ha ha ha ha

namechangedtoday15 · 05/01/2017 17:08

Chicken? On a Pizza? Smile

I may give it a go when I crave pizza (give me till the weekend!) but I have religiously brought up my family that a pizza's not a pizza without pepperoni, so I may face a revolt!

Emochild · 05/01/2017 18:44

Lost 4lb this week Grin

GiGiraffe · 05/01/2017 19:02

That's great Emochild! You must be so pleased

Emochild · 05/01/2017 19:08

I am but you hear stories of people dropping 8/9lbs first week -I've never done that and always end up slightly disappointed lol

MrsD28 · 05/01/2017 20:18

Well done Emochild!

I am on day five and I am hungry! I am using the extra breastfeeding points to have bigger portions and extra glasses of milk / cups of tea etc. I am tending not to use all my points though - I can't really imagine how I would lose weight on 52 points per day (last time I did WW I was on 26!).

My food today:

Breakfast: porridge with honey and cinnamon (8 points)

Lunch: Thai green curry with chicken and brown rice (homemade, big-ish portion, 12 points)

Dinner: Thai red curry with chicken, mushrooms and rice (homemade, big portion, 15 points)

Snacks:
Three cups of tea with sugar and skim milk (2 points each, so 6 points total)
Fruit (0 points)
Large glass of skim milk (5 points)
