First off, I know there's a dedicated area in big/slim/whatever but I'm after traffic as it's a bit quiet in the WW section. Second, I know that 5:2 and low carb are popular on MN but neither of them suit me whereas I've lost weight with WW in the fairly distant past and regained due to unrelated issues which I'll leave out for now. I'm sure there are plenty of opinions on why it doesn't work but for me it does.

Just wondering if anyone is thinking of signing up and would like a support thread over on the WW board. I have at least 4st to lose and would appreciate it. I can't go to meetings as they don't fit in with work, so will be doing it online (half price on the website at the moment and Top Cashback give a few quid back). Anyone in?

Can I join please?

I joined ww meetings a few weeks ago. I was in the right place to start but then I suddenly had a bit of a tough time at work and privately. So I didn't manage to follow the diet or go to group.

So after 4 weeks I've only lost 1/2 pound but I didn't stick to ww at all so not surprised.

Since Thursday I have been 100% on board. I'm doing no count as I am finding that a bit easier-with work I just can't weigh everything at the moment. It's definitely helping me to make healthier choices with brown pasta and rice.

It's so motivating to see all your amazing losses!

Theworldisfullofidiots · 03/06/2017 10:07

BG2015 staying the same in those circumstances is brilliant!
Confused I say the more the merrier (but I didn't start the thread and I suspect everyone would say the same as they are lovely and supportive!)

sowhatusernameisnttaken · 03/06/2017 10:44

I started on 23rd may - the first 3lbs came off relatively easily but now I seem stuck at 12stone 1lb despite sticking to the plan :-( Any advice, in desperate to get under 12 stone!

BG2015 · 03/06/2017 11:28

Drink more water, up your exercise and try and make good choices.

sez49 · 03/06/2017 18:20

As well as drinking enough water, are you eating all your points? Daily and weekly? Weighing, measuring and tracking everything? Do you do much exercise?

I know how frustrating it can be when you stick to the plan and do everything right and don't lose, or in my case, have several gains! Stick with it, it should sort itself out over time.

How about measuring yourself? I have seen people who are sticking to it and doing everything right, but the scales are not showing the results, can see they have lost inches.

DarkDarkNight · 07/06/2017 23:03

Joining as I find it really motivating to chat to others. I'm on the April 2017 starters thread but it's a bit quiet.

I'm 6 weeks in and 1 stone down. Feeling really positive, this is such a great diet for me. I don't feel deprived of treats so am finding it easy to stick to.

Going to have a read of the full thread now.

Theworldisfullofidiots · 08/06/2017 06:29

darkdarknight that's great!

BG2015 · 12/06/2017 11:42

I had my hysterectomy on the 6th June. I've followed WW right up until the op and pretty much stuck to it since I came out of hospital. My weigh in date is usually Friday but I've weighed myself this morning and I've lost 3.6lb since before my op.

This makes my total weight lost 9.2lb in 7 weeks. Very pleased with that but unfortunately my tummy is so swollen from the surgery I won't be getting my skinny jeans on quite yet.

Going to slowly start upping my walking now.

Theworldisfullofidiots · 15/06/2017 06:03

I've had an interesting week. It's been quite stressful and I've been doing days out with clients and even had tea with the bishop! However, I dropped my phone which I use the app on. I find pointing works for me and it's quite difficult without it. (Also going on with clients, where the food is provided by them - Away Days etc is v difficult). So it looks like this week I think I will have stayed the same. (We'll see the tomorrow). I'm telling myself staying the same is ok - but I'd rather have move on as I have quite a long way to go!

Theworldisfullofidiots · 23/06/2017 08:13

Stayed the same. Birthday and haven't been tracking properly. Broke my phone! Back on it this week.

BG2015 · 23/06/2017 10:00

I lost 3.6lb last week but have stayed the same this week. I have tracked but been out for a meal and have eaten ice cream.

Back on it now! 2lb to go before I hit goal!

Theworldisfullofidiots · 23/06/2017 16:57

Wish I only had 2 lbs...

BG2015 · 23/06/2017 17:21

I only had a stone to lose but am thinking I may try to lose a bit more.

Kaiibrown · 26/06/2017 18:19

Hi everyone! I'm new here and I really want to lose at least 5 stone for January 2018 time. I'm just wondering what is all your weights as ive read some threads and they don't seem to be over 13 stone which isn't big if ya ask me.

BG2015 · 26/06/2017 18:53

I was 12st 11lb in January. If you're on Facebook there's a really active WW group over there. Lots of big losses, ideas for meals and recipes. It's very supportive too.

It's called Weight Watchers Smart Points UK

Kaiibrown · 26/06/2017 19:43

Thank you

sez49 · 26/06/2017 23:59

I have got over 4 stone to go and have lost 7st 13lbs so far. There is also a No Count FB group page, which is extremely active and has loads of big losers. (Weight Watchers - No Count Friends). I am mostly pointing but doing the odd no count day here and there, but I am eating more no count foods now, as I think that longer term that will be what I need to be do to maintain my weight, once I am where I want to be.

As the thought of losing over 12st seemed like an impossible task ahead, setting myself small goals to focus on has really helped me. One small step at a time.

BG2015 · 27/06/2017 09:27

That's amazing weight loss, you must feel so chuffed with yourself. How are keeping up with the changes in clothes sizes? That must be a nightmare to cope with, not to mention the cost.

Kaiibrown · 27/06/2017 16:21

Sez.. wow!! That's great!! Can you explain what you did. What food you eat and exersize. I think for my lifestyle coz i work 12 hour shifts and I'm a single parent and also the house work ect it's hard to find time to prepare so I just wanted to diet on the frozen ready meals from WW. Do use think I will lose weight. I'm wanting to lose roughly 4 stone.

sez49 · 27/06/2017 21:06

I re-joined WW nearly a year ago. I have stayed on plan every week, eating all my daily and weekly points. I weigh, measure and track everything. For last few months I have also been eating quite a few of my fitpoints each week as well. I started walking last year, after buying an activity tracker. Struggled to reach 5k steps to start with, but gradually did it and slowly increased it. I walk every day. Now I usually walk 12k steps as a minimum. Have been trying an exercise video at home recently and started a couch to 5k app. been repeating the first week until I can complete it. I am by no means fit, but am so much fitter and healthier than I was a year ago. Currently I am earning between 130-140 fitpoints a week I have treats each week, although as my daily points have reduced considerably over time, the treats need to be less frequent now! I am now eating mostly foods from the no count list, so cooking much more from scratch and eating more healthy foods, but I am mostly still pointing, to keep my portions in check!

I would shop around for frozen meals. There are lots of other options that work out at reasonable points, not just WW meals. All the supermarkets should have some. Could you bulk cook and freeze some portions? I discovered slow cookers last year and soup makers. Love both of them and wonder how I managed without them for so many years!

At the end of the day, if you stick with your points, then you should lose weight.

I have had lots of weeks where I have stayed the same or gained, despite staying on plan each week. Those weeks are really frustrating, but I have stuck with it. It does eventually sort itself out!

BG2015 - yes I have minimal clothes options at the moment! Buying the bare minimum and trying to buy when on offer or in the sales. Also buying next size or two ahead of time, if discounted, so I have something to get into. I have also got rid of all my big clothes. I have never done that before. This time I am not going back so will never need them again. Previously I always kept them 'just in case' and it was like I was setting myself up to fail. I will be going clothes shopping when I get to where I want to be! Think my mum will help me out with the cost of new clothes when I need them as well. Hubby suggested I just wear a belt and wear them baggy, but getting into the next size down is a boost and it definitely helps keep me motivated.

Theworldisfullofidiots · 27/06/2017 22:02

Sez thank for inspiring me. I've lost one stone so far and four to go. Slow and steady is me so far and Im happy with that. I've got an achilles problem which effects walking but starting physio this week so hopefully that will help.

Kaiibrown · 28/06/2017 09:33

Thanks everyone. I am doing the 800 calorie diet at the minute but I'm changing to WW next week

Want2bSupermum · 28/06/2017 15:40

So I've had a couple of weeks where I gained and then I tracked everything and started to lose again. I've also changed my meeting to a Saturday morning run by a mother of one who lost weight and kept if off using WW.

I got sick on the weekend and didn't drink any alcohol. I lost 4lb by Monday. I'm tracking and weighing each morning and hope to come in 0.5lb down this week.

Kaiibrown · 28/06/2017 19:13

What's tracking?

Want2bSupermum · 28/06/2017 19:32

Tracking is just recording what you eat. Everything has a point value and you are assigned a daily number of points plus weekly points which you can use as you please. Fruit and veg have zero points no matter the quantity so I don't track that but everything else is 'tracked'.
