First off, I know there's a dedicated area in big/slim/whatever but I'm after traffic as it's a bit quiet in the WW section. Second, I know that 5:2 and low carb are popular on MN but neither of them suit me whereas I've lost weight with WW in the fairly distant past and regained due to unrelated issues which I'll leave out for now. I'm sure there are plenty of opinions on why it doesn't work but for me it does.

Just wondering if anyone is thinking of signing up and would like a support thread over on the WW board. I have at least 4st to lose and would appreciate it. I can't go to meetings as they don't fit in with work, so will be doing it online (half price on the website at the moment and Top Cashback give a few quid back). Anyone in?

Hi can I join?! I made the first Ww thread last year then disappeared.

I have been diagnosed with vit b12 deficiency and just been treated for h pylori so I want to go get fit and healthy to help me get better.

I do ww online though I've been paying it and not doing it. Start again tomorrow though wi day is a Thursday. Got a new Fitbit charge 2 and kitchen scales as those help me stay in control.

Anyone got any breakfast / lunch ideas 💡

Emochild · 01/01/2017 13:49

I've rediscovered an old favourite

Couple of slices of naice ham in a little oven proof dish, half a tin of tomatoes with some mixed herbs and chilli flakes mixed through, 1 egg on top -whole lot in a moderate oven for 15 mins

Very tasty and 5/6 points depending on how much ham and the size of the egg

I've done pro points before so the shift to high protein medium chicken breast for 2 PTA anyone? is taking some planning

JenniferYellowHat1980 · 01/01/2017 14:28

No need to ask - anyone interested is welcome to just jump on as far as I'm concerned. Anyone want to post some stats so we can put a list together? I don't mind starting.

JenniferYellowHat1980 start weight 14st 1lb / current 14st 1lb / target 9st

OP posts:
thehoundschicken · 01/01/2017 14:40

I am used to smart points but just can't remember what I like to eat Shock

I'm 5ft 1 11st 9lb - goal is 9st 8

Whyiron · 01/01/2017 15:56

My stats are.....

Whyiron start weight 12 st / current 12 st / target 9 st 7 lbs

Emochild · 01/01/2017 17:20

Ugh -hate this bit

Start 18st 12lb
Target 13st 7lb

I'm 6 ft tall and gp says that's a healthy weight for me but feels like a huge amount to lose and my goal is higher than lots of people's start weight -which also makes me feel like a massive fatty!

TaffyandTeenyTaffy · 01/01/2017 18:14

Count me in. I really struggle to lose weight due to various health issues. Been doing WW for nearly 2 years - online at first, then joined a fab class which closed down and since then been struggling to find a new group that suits. I have managed to lose and keep off just over 2 stone but am still at least a stone over where I want to be. I have now found a good leader and am getting back on track. Planning to do some exercise this year to try and boost the weight loss.

lilygirl81 · 01/01/2017 18:30

I'll pop my stats on when I stand on the scales on Tuesday.
Is anyone else disabled? I've very limited mobility so exercise is almost impossible for me (one of the reasons I got to this weight, used to run marathons!!)

MrsD28 · 01/01/2017 21:51

Forgot to add my height - 5ft5.

Today was a bit of a disaster - DH decided to open up our final box of Christmas chocs (Lindt selection.... so good!) so I have already blown all of my weekly points and then some. But I tracked it all - usually I would just decide not to track because I didn't want to face how much I had eaten! I think that I stopped tracking because I felt that I had so many points (52, because I am breastfeeding) that there was no way I would ever use them all - but it shows that it is easy to consume way, WAY more points than you expect. Tomorrow is another day! Christmas chocs are all gone now (and we did groceries today, and have committed to a grocery budget, so are not doing any top-up shops) so hopefully temptation is gone too...

poorpaws · 01/01/2017 22:45

My stats

5ft 4ins present weight 11st 11lbs, goal target 9st 11st so 2 whole stones to lose.

Lost 3 stones with WW in 2012 and been struggling ever since. Yo yo dieter with a massive 🍫 habit. I need lots of support please. Weighin Sundays.

poorpaws · 01/01/2017 22:48

Lily girl - forgot to mention I have mobility problems but can walk slowly with a stick. I walk a lot to improve my mobility as I have ME.

JenniferYellowHat1980 · 02/01/2017 09:05

Starting today. Got my day's eating planned. I'd go to the gym if it wasn't shut for bank holiday bit it looks like a nice day out there so will go for a walk at least.

TaffyandTeenyTaffy · 02/01/2017 09:58

Weighed this morning and I am 12st 2lb. have gained just over half stone over the festive season - which for me started at the end of November. so want to try and shift that fairly quickly. Target is 11 stone (for now!)

Yesterday was a good day - stuck to plan and joined the local running group who started the c25k plan for newbies. I am liking the blue dot challenge on the app and hoping this will keep me on track.

Have taken the dog for a walk and had a mushroom omelette for breakfast today - so far, so good.

Housewalking can be good for those struggling with mobility - every little bit helps.

JennyWreny · 02/01/2017 10:51

I signed up online mid-Dec and lost half a stone before Christmas but (not unexpectedly) have put most of it back on, so today is the start of a new week and I'm trying some of the ideas from the new Smartstart (?) book.

Mushrooms/cherry toms and a couple of slices of bacon for breakfast and sticky sauce open sandwich for lunch later. Then chicken jalfrezi for dinner.

As well as aiming for the blue dot each day, I'm also going to try and do 10k steps (Fitbit), drink 2l water, no more than 2 caffeinated coffees, 3 lots of pelvic floor exercises and 30 day shred. Have made myself a little checklist.

I hope I'm not going to crash and burn with that lot!

Has anyone made the Roasted Butternut Squash Soup that is mentioned in the smart start book? I can't find the recipe for it. It says it's in the Eat book which I guess is a book which you receive if you go to meetings.

insertcoolusernamehere · 02/01/2017 13:56

Here are my stats:
Starting wight 18st 8lb Blush
Goal 11st 6lb (ideally 10st 10lb but a healthy BMI is my first target)
I'm 5ft7
emochild I have 48 points a day! And 42 weeklies! From what I remember back in propoints days, it was recommended you eat your weeklies too. Then you have wiggle room if you hit a plateau you can cut the weeklies down and kick start start your weightloss again. However I'm with you! I think it's harder at the start of a diet when your trying to be "good" and are less relaxed about the whole thing x

Emochild · 02/01/2017 14:17

I'm on 46 a day and 39 weeklies so not too dissimilar

I know I lose weight if I up my protein but I can't touch that number of points unless I hit the carbs -hard!

nightnurse66 · 02/01/2017 14:49

Just weighed post xmas binge at
12 st 7 lbs. Hope to get to 10 st as
1st goal, but would love to get nearer 9st as only 5ft 2. I can start off well for the first 3 to 4 weeks then just lose all motivation so hopefully with this thread will be able to stay on track . Smile

JenniferYellowHat1980 · 02/01/2017 16:05

Having a good day so far food wise. First time I've eaten really healthily in absolutely ages. Just doing a quick walk around the block which I plan to do daily - I live on top of a big hill - for a bit more than 2500 extra steps. Gym is shut but I plan on being there at 6:30 am and am just going to have a little dance with DD!

Really want to keep this thread going for motivation as they do seem to die a death!

MrsD28 · 02/01/2017 16:10

Today is definitely better than yesterday - feel quite relieved that all temptation has gone from the house.

6.30 gym Jennifer! Very impressed Smile

Emochild · 02/01/2017 16:28

6.30am I shall be leaving for work!

I've actually planned my meals out for tomorrow but lunch is pretty standard as I don't want my colleagues to notice -all gets super competitive and if you have a bad day there's an awful lot of 'should you be eating that?' Type comments

Allchange2017 · 02/01/2017 16:59

Hi all, hope I'm not too late to join! Started WW online today. I'm 43, starting weight 13st 5 😲😲. My first goal is 10st 12. Looking forward to sharing tips and stories with you all x

peanutbutter2409 · 02/01/2017 18:18

Hi all! I'm in. Had my baby 9 weeks ago and hate how I look. Was on WW before I was pregnant and was planning on losing more than I did before falling pregnant - so I started much heavier than I wanted to be. Have a lot to lose but I'm all over it now and plan to start on the c210k programme once I'm able to (had/have SPD).

Emochild · 02/01/2017 19:31

I have 9 points left for the day

Anyone want them?

JenniferYellowHat1980 · 02/01/2017 19:55

Yes Emo, I'll use them on a Baileys!
